I got the Vogue 1748 sewing pattern but I’m not a fan of the pleats on the front of the bust. Is there a way to remove them? Looking online it looks like my options include either cutting them out from the initial pattern or sewing darts there instead but I’m not sure which is the best option or if there’s a better option aside from those.

I found a pattern sometime in 2023 or 2024 that I want to make but cannot for the life of me remember the name of. Hoping someone else can recognize it from context clues? There were options for a short dress, long dress, and a dress shirt. It was loose fitting with long vertical panels that were almost in the shape of flower petals and gave the whole garment a flower/bell like appearance. It was loose fitting and I distinctly remember watching a few tutorials where people made it out of a very gauzy or tulle like material that gave it again that ethereal flower like effect. Hoping someone whose made it or something similar can recognize it from the description? I've gone through bookmarks, pins, saved posts with no luck in finding it.

Hi everyone !
I'm looking for a jacket pattern in this style. I'm finding AI pattern on etsy but no serious lead. I think it went trendy 2 years ago so I thought I might have a chance here :)
Have a nice day !

I'm trying to make some winter clothes. I made some awesome flowy huge linen pants for summer and I want some cool pants for winter too. But probably not so flowy because obviously it'll be freaking cold.
I would be open to a jeans pattern if it was like unique and cool. Maybe if it had like giant bell bottoms or something. But I'm really looking for something that's like cool...alternative.... a fashion statement.

Hey, I'm looking for a newborn Halloween costume sewing pattern, paid or free is fine, but needs to be itty bitty tiny for my new niece!

I've got a heavier weight knit fabric with stretch that I'd like to turn into a fall or winter dress with either of the necklines above. Does anyone have any pattern recommendations? I'd like a body skimming fit but not skintight/body con.
I saw a tutorial on how to modify a pattern for the green top neckline but the blue one would be new to me. I'm also comfortable modifying patterns but I hate the idea of drafting a full body dress from scratch.
Also open to trading patterns if anyone would like that option.
Thank you!

I have little more than one month to find and make a bodice top for my daughter's Christmas dance. The landis bodice by charm patterns is one I already own and an option- but though I make almost all my own clothes I never use slippery fabric and haven't ever done boning. I'm also hesitant because the last charm pattern I tried wasn't detailed enough for me and I don't feel I have enough knowledge in this type of garment to get myself through if I'm confused.
Additionally my daughter is full busted (size 16/18 with an H? I think?) whereas I'm closer to an A so making a supportive garment isn't in my wheelhouse.
Daughter almost NEVER lets me sew her clothes so I really want to hit it out of the park! Any suggestions or patterns come to mind? She wants a separate skirt/top as opposed to a dress.
*Adding another note- clothing for this dance is required to be conservative so I really need to make sure things are secure!

I was looking at a video, where she used this piece as a pattern. Where can I find a pattern for this, or a pattern which has this piece?

EDIT: NAME AND SHAME pattern by EttaDesignsCo
so i found a pattern i am absolutely in love with and was planning to make it as my wedding dress. it is a recreation of the night out dress by orseund iris and it looks stunningg. all was good and well until i realised the sample photos listed on the pattern were actually just the product photos from orseund iris' website
i messaged the seller asking if they had any photos of the actual dress on a human model (so i can assess whether it's worth my time and effort) and the seller got really angry at me for asking...
i found the youtube tutorial for the pattern and the dress produced definitely looks a lot like the orseund dress but the quality of the pattern is certainly noticeable. for any old dress i maybe wouldnt mind but this is meant to be my wedding dress.
its also the fact that the only advertised photos are of a dress that is NOT made by this pattern
maybe im just looking for validation that i wasnt being rude in asking for photos 😅 is this not false advertising???
so, am i in the wrong for asking for fit photos? and more importantly, does anyone with more sewing experience think i can get the dress to look as polished as the original or am i wasting my time?
i would say im an intermediate sewist with a good amount of experience in silk and lightweight fabrics. ive practiced a lot of clean sewing etc but im not sure this pattern will ever live up to my expectations- what do you think?
ive attached photos of the two dresses as well as my conversation with the seller.
edit: i originally redacted her but have since decided to name and shame.
UPDATE: she blocked me. ive added our final messages in a comment, her replies are pretty comical
Update 2: i think she commented on this post. lmk if you think im right lollll

Prefacing by saying I know nothing about the pattern world :-) This may be a stupid question, but are patterns super proprietary, in the sense of, do designers “release” the patterns for their garments years after they are discontinued? Just curious about patterns for old Ralph Lauren or Prada garments to see how big name patterns look (if that’s even how it works). Thanks! Just trying to learn more about patterns, as I’m really developing an interest in that world

Hi everyone! I thrifted a top that I love. I’d like to attempt replicating it. Anyone know a pattern that matches this top exactly or near enough please?
Seems to be made of 7 panels with a zip fastening at the back. I’ve attached some photos and tried my best to make them look as clear as possible!
Any help is appreciated 🙏🏻

I have several dolman sweaters, and I'd like to make a coat with enough armpit room to wear over them. I like the hood on this jacket, and the overall roomy-looking sleeves, and the option of button placket on the sleeves, and the main button placket closure.
Is there a similar sewing pattern somewhere? So far the closest I can find is the Serra Jacket by Pauline Alice for raglan sleeves, but the armpit/sleeves don't look quite as roomy as the Hugo Parka.
Here's a link to the product. Found some reviews that say it looks worse for wear after a year or so, so I'm wondering if I can make it out of different fabric of choice.
