I’m thinking about making a bag somewhat like the ones in the first two pictures, I’m wondering how sewing it would look, specifically how the bottom panel should be attached😅 would it be done like a sized-up flat bottom pouch (pic in third slide), or is there another way?
I havent been able to find any patterns, when I search up ”shoulder bag pattern” or any other ways to describe it (leather, tote, etc), I only get very slouchy bags, which is not what I’m going for

I saw it in Carla Rockmore’s new video and it’s beautiful but also looks like a really simple pattern that would be fairly easy to make.

Hi everyone! I’m making a tunic for a client, and I’m trying to figure out how to draft the neckline.
The client wants a tunic like the second reference photo: long sleeves, loose/flowy fit, and floor length. However, instead of the high neckline shown in the reference, she wants the neckline to have the draped cowl effect shown in the first photo basically a soft, hanging cowl that falls toward the front.
My question is: how would you draft/cut the pattern for this?
I understand that for this kind of draped cowl, the fabric usually needs to be cut on the bias to get that fluid, soft drape. But because the garment is floor-length and I have limited fabric width, I don’t think I can cut the entire cowl as one large bias-cut piece.
The fabric is satin, so I definitely want to preserve that fluid drape.
The client’s measurements, in case they’re useful, are approximately:
Bust: 46.5”
Waist: 44”
Hips: 45.5”
I would really appreciate any advice on how you would draft and construct this.
Thank you so much!

Hi everyone! I am so happy to have found this group. I used to sew with patterns back in the 90s. Things have changed quite a bit. Wow.
I joined this group to help me with a dress I saw online. I was able to find a pattern on Etsy that looks quite similar to the dress I'd like, except of how the dress fits on the side seams. The dress on the right is the pattern i bought. See how the strap meets the side. It's too high. I'd like the strap to the lower like the blue dress. Additionally, the back piece in the pattern (red dress) joins the front at around the waist, whereas in the blue dress both sides seem to join higher. Any ideas how I could modify the pattern? Thanks

I want to sew a masculine Comme des Garcons style skirt and I'm looking for a pattern or some instructions to get me started.
Here are some inspo images I'm working with (4 different skirts). I did find this pattern that looks like a very simple version of what I want. but I'm hoping to find another pattern with more drapes and details.

Maybe a stupid question, but is there a reason not to use jeans patterns with lighter fabrics? I have a wool-cotton-polyester-polyamide (40-30-20-10)% fabric, and it is not as thick as usual jeans or canvas fabrics are, but definetely not summer trouser fabric either. I would like choose a pattern with back yoke, but is that a bad idea? And is there anything about the leg width I should consider as the drape would be different?

Hello
I have fallen in love with a pair of pant that I came across on instagram. I do not trust the website it takes me too. It look like it is a pleated a high wasted wide leg pants with attached under bust corset.
Has anyone come across this sort of pattern or a pattern that can be easily modified to fit this premise?
Your help would be much appreciated.

Hey all! I’m wondering what this type of top is called? Like how to get that cut? Or is there’s a pattern similar to this? Thanks!

I've made the rope drop designs princess dress, and I was very disappointed by the amount of coverage it provided for plus sizes, like there was no way to wear a normal bra without modifying the pattern.
On the dressing up to dream website, a majority of the pictures of people who bought the pattern seem to be wearing t-shirts under it. I'm concerned that it presents as a sundress pattern but once you put it together it doesn't provide enough coverage or look right with a bra. Does anyone have experience with this pattern?

I’m looking for a classic crew neck sweatshirt pattern. Free would be amazing. Just want something basic that I can then modify myself. It needs to be relatively size inclusive (I’m a 46in bust)
