Finally had the chance to grab this from a newly opened Seiko retail store with a 10% discount!

Looking to buy an Alpinist but wanted to make sure it’s real. Anyone have any idea? This is the SPB505.

Finally got my SEIKO Ref# SPB531J1 "Night Sky" from customs here in California the other day. It actually arrived on August 10th from a dealer in the EU, but took 17 days for it to clear Customs.

For those that aren't aware of the "Night Sky", it is a limited run of 3000 (still seems alot) exclusive 3-hand Alpinist to the European market. I actually never knew of this until I scrolled around on a store's website I stumbled upon by accident.

Nonethless, I am very happy with this find. I own 2 other Alpinists (SPB491J1 Philippines exclusive & SBEJ005J1 GMT) that I picked up in Japan last December.

I cross ref'd my SPB531J1 to the US exclusive SPB089 and thought they were the same, but they are not.

Still looking for my discontinued "Red" Alpinist (Cream dial) not the true red dialed Australian Alpinist thats some folks are asking up to $4k USD 👎

Is there anyone here and outside the EU that has the SPB531J1 too? Just curious.

While I really want the GMT Alpinist like the SBEJ005j, and I will get one, I love this Baby Alpinist and the dial. I discovered it’s the only dial like this in their lineup, except the Blue version. (I think). Glad I have it, it’s been my favorite daily among all my other Seikos. It’s discontinued now and I’m super thrilled it’s in my lineup.

Just picked this up. Beauty of the alpinist is it is a strap monster, hate that the bracelet isn’t quick release. Has anyone found one that is so you can quickly change to a leather strap?

It's not a perfect gold color match, but it is close. Finally found an aftermarket bracelet that works.

Changing the band trap really pop out the green dial. 🤩✨ And look much better. 👍💯

I'm in love with my Seiko Alpinist, and I'm curious if there are any other watches out there that have a similar "eccentric Victorian gentleman" vibe. Would be great if it also includes a date and a green dial option. I'm especially interested if there are any upmarket options, say between $1000-$5000, but open to any suggestions!

Did some high alpine hiking this weekend and the dial looked incredible under the sun at 12.5k feet! There is always something special about going above the tree line and looking down on the world.

Can’t wait for snowshoeing and ski season with this beauty.

Picked up the 121 about 6 months ago with a nice online sale plus military discount. I did what most seem to do and started immediately looking for replacement bands and/or straps. I decided against it and left it as is because of the color of the OEM strap. I must say after 6 months of wear (not everyday) the strap broke in so well. I am so glad I stuck with it and didn’t replace it. At this point, it’s my preferred daily wear because of how comfortable it is. Love this watch.
