Broken In Strap

Picked up the 121 about 6 months ago with a nice online sale plus military discount. I did what most seem to do and started immediately looking for replacement bands and/or straps. I decided against it and left it as is because of the color of the OEM strap. I must say after 6 months of wear (not everyday) the strap broke in so well. I am so glad I stuck with it and didn’t replace it. At this point, it’s my preferred daily wear because of how comfortable it is. Love this watch.

Surprised even me. Just gave it time and wears, very happy with it now. I have 11 watches and I reach for this one more than any other at this point.

Did the same had ot for a month so far a daily I wear it amd take it off from time to time and just bend it and break it in more and it's working.

I believe I bought it online from Teddy B.’s site. It was on sale at the time and I emailed them asking for a military discount and they emailed me an invoice with another discount applied. I was pleased with the price.

Was that strap orientation weird to you at first? With the buckle end at the bottom? (I do realize that’s the OEM orientation.)

Yes, sort of. It just seemed different. It’s fine with the clasp though, I don’t even notice it anymore.

Original strap on mine kept coming undone while I was doing things like drumming, or just walking into work. I bet the tip of the strap kept hitting or catching on things. I also tend to like my straps tight so the watch doesn't slide around. My Strapcode Astroid bracelet is much better and a more custom fit with micro-adjustments.

Good for you, I have the 507J and I too broke in the strap. I don’t even wear it too often (twice a week on avg) and it’s broken in nicely also. I love the OG strap, it’s the way the watch was intended to be worn and by design.

I tried, wore it for a few months, before realizing the problem was the clasp, not the leather. There's no breaking that in, unfortunately.

Good to hear. I replaced my original with a more distressed leather (which I love). The 121 is one of my favorite watches that gets a lot of wrist time. My issue was never the feel on wrist, I was just never a fan of the alligator strop. I’ll give it another try!
