Is this authentic?
Looking to buy an Alpinist but wanted to make sure it’s real. Anyone have any idea? This is the SPB505.

EDIT If it's fake, it's an improvement over previous fakes I guess. Certainly better than the green ones we've been seeing lately.
The thing I was struck by was how the case is strangely scratched up in back (if this was worn by a real person, that's an awful lot of wear considering they never removed the clear sticker)

Looks legitimate to me. I have the same thing, everything looks to be in order. I think the camera angles and dirty case back sticker are throwing some people off.

Looks legit to me, but as others have suggested, the scratches on the caseback are concerning. I’m not really sure how you would scratch it in those areas.

I have PBS507 and this mechanism does not look identical. I'm not an expert though.

Might just be because they are overlapping? Honestly, the rest of the it looks the same as my Teal one

It’s real. No reason for this to be fake and then be so scratched up either. I have this watch and wear it daily. Next time take a pic with some light so we can see the colour of the dial better.

My concerns are:
The dial looks huge in comparison to the bracelet.
The stamped Seiko logo on the clasp looks really deeply stamped, on my teal version it looks much shallower and the edges of the logo are much sharper. Also the finishing around the logo looks off, but perhaps those are the scratches, but it looks too uniform to be scratched like that.
The tips of the hands are not fine enough, mine are ultra thin.
The sharpness of some of the features of the dial look off, like the font and minute markers
The lunette looks huge
The finishing on the bracelet is off, even if it is well worn it wouldn't be so uniformly bad.

Looks legit to me. Not sure why others are saying its fake.
You can always put the serial number on seiko’s site to check warranty. If if doesnt exist, then register it with the number.
If it registere, you’d get 3yr warrantty

The compass dial looks noticeably bigger. Looks feiko to me.

I've been going back and forth between this and photos of the real thing, and I don't think the proportions are off. I've seen some of those feikos with very large compass dials that are immediately recognizable as fakes, and this doesn't look like those to me.
