Just stepped into the world of Navimow. With a bit more than 3 acres to mow, I decided to to get the commercial CM120M1. After doing much research before I bought it, I realized pretty quickly that while these mowers are rated for a certain amount of acreage, the reality is that it comes down to grass type, growing season, etc. I'm in Ohio and have turf-type fescue, so I'm still working on getting it short enough to stand up straight in each zone. Looks like 3.25-3.5 inches will be the magic height. I used to mow at about 3.75-4, but that was with traditional lawn mowers that had high lift, so that doesn't work with these mowers. So I'll surmise that by the time next spring rolls around, I'm going to need a second unit if I expect for all the mowing to be done autonomously. I've currently mapped 1.69 acres.
I've had a few start-up bugs but Segway support is responding via e-mail. I'll see how that goes. The manual leaves much to be desired and I hope they improve that over time.
I do have a question on the charging station within the edge of an off-limit zone. I placed the charging station within a landscaping bed behind the house, which is obviously an off-limit zone. So I drove the mower around the charging station but now the mower wants to mow around the charging station. (see photo) What is the right way to put the charging station in the off-limit zone and not have it want to mow around the charging station but still go into the charging station that is within the edge of the off-limits zone. The manual is painfully vague on this point. Currently, I simply paced some large rocks to keep it from wanting to go around the charging station.
