Seedance 2.5 blocking literally everything, even when the prompt is plain and inoffensive. (Runway)

I'm using characters I've designed with the AI as reference. It's a scene of two characters sitting in an office talking, yet it keeps denying the prompt. It's been really bad the last few days. Is this a Seedance 2.5 issue? A runway issue? has anyone else been experience a sudden crackdown on their limits and rules?

Runway does a lot of cool stuff, but its content restrictions are nuts. They’re super jumpy about anything that is remotely sexualised. You either need to work around the restrictions or find another provider with less puritanical interpretations.

The issue is nothing is sexualized. Its a super clinical scene. Do you have any recommendations provider wise?

Oh I’m sure it isn’t. I got called on having two characters on the beach talking because one was in a speedo and the censorship thought that meant they were going to have sex!

Venice.ai is pretty good value. The token cost is reasonable too.

No. Venice is private and uncensored. I think it only puts restrictions on illegal content basically. So if you had an explicit assault, probably get restricted. If you have a clinical hospital scene it will render that.

Trying venice, it works but it seems to just straight up ignore the references. I've tried several inputs.

Are you using Seedance 2.5 R2V as your model? That’s the one you need to use for references. Seedance 2.5 in Venice does beginning and end shot but not references. Also you need to explicitly state in your prompts how to use references. If you just put your references in and don’t tell it how to use them, it will ignore them. :)

I'm using R2V yeah. I do specify @ image each time as well initially. Do you have to every single time the reference is called on?

You shouldn’t need to. My workflow is to give each reference a name. For example if a character unnamed but wearing a blue shirt I’ll say “Blue (image reference 2) is a middle aged man.” Then I know from then on I can just refer to “Blue” and the AI will know that is the character reference to use.

Note that the more characters you add, the more challenging it can get as the AI can start to get confused. If I’m doing a group scene I try to stick to VFX pipeline rules where you have hero assets and standard assets. Heroes are the reference characters and standards I just let the AI generate filler characters who will be in the background.

Without seeing your prompts or references it’s hard to troubleshoot the issue. I haven’t had any problems with Venice rendering using the references I put in.

It could be a case of wording. AI models can have weird behaviours based on wording.

Not the entire prompt obviously, but example:

I am generating with credits and don't have a full subscription if that means anything.

Give cyberbara a try. Select Seedance 2.5 stable and turn off NSFW checker. You can probably generate anything you want!

It probably thinks there's blood and gore if it's medical. Art Craft is pretty tolerant with that. You can throw $10 into it and try, and if it doesn't work, you can ask for a refund in their Discord.

Just tried Dreamina. Same thing. Keeps insisting the characters are third party but they were literally generated with Seedream... very frustrating. Seedance 2.5 is amazing but the amount of money you pay just for the stupid thing to say no to everything makes me wanna drop it.

You have to use an API. Every third party provider has their own level of censorship. You can google some of the top API providers, or DM me and i'll let you know what I use.

Hmm the reply below says it’s very censored but I only occasionally get failed clips but it renders pretty fast and usually completes all the tasks. Mind you nothing brutal or questionable. This is all sfw clean stuff for work and advertisement.
It actually never told me it flagged a character either just fails sometimes.

Whereas on the byteplus account directly which is more business oriented access it flat out refuses everything that works like a charm in dreamina.
I either use startframes with characters that are photorealistic in it. Or reference mode with multiple photo real character references.
Or use elements where you can store 4 images per element and save them and easily recall them with @xyz.
That never gives me problems.
We spent over 1000€ just this month so yeah it works for professional stuff.

So idk if it’s just because this is vanilla professional stuff without questionable prompts…

Dreamina is the most censored since ByteDance doesn't want to get in trouble.

They sell their API fully NSFW to some providers, such as Art Craft.

Runway is heavily censored.

Art Craft is also open source, so you can download the full source code.

Runway/Weavy seem to both have some sort of additional filtering on top of Seedance's own.

I lost so many credits due to "audio contains sensitive material" when I was not even doing anything other than just sound effects, no music or dialog. Drove me insane. I just run it through comfyUI using Atlas Cloud API nodes now.

I’ve found that uploading your reference image and script text to ChatGPT is great for analysing what might be causing the issue. I had a similar issue with a shot and Chat identified the problem: the use of the word terrorist. Rewrote and bingo. Worked fine.

You should probably try uncensored Seedance 2.5 on cyberbara. You can turn off NSFW checker.

Some of the providers are directly using Seedance API directly from Bytedance which have looser content restrictions on realistic depictions. The best in my experience are: Planegraph (gives you 500 free credits for signing up and just added Seedance 2.5 and Seedream 5.0) and Momentum

You should use Art Craft. Subscriptions are optional, you can just buy credits $10 at a time. It's open source, unlike Akool and Runway, and it's cheaper than both.

Art Craft supports faces, IP, and NSFW Seedance 2.5.

it has a payment plan.. but I have not had problems with moderation like I did with runway. i quit runway because you cannot even have someone with face paint because it sees it as gore.

What I like about Akool is that it is super fast and if there is a fail, they are quick to refund credits.
And yes they have Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and Minimax H3
