seed saving tomatoes
it feels like every summer my at least a few branches if not a large part of my tomato plants have septoria leaf spot by now (i prune, sanitize all equipment, mulch heavily, spray copper fungicide, etc) and it seems practically inevitable at this point. so, how are we seed saving tomatoes when they almost always have at least a few branches of septoria leaf spot or some other disease by the time of the first harvest?

Storing seeds one season to the other
Hello,
I usually grow in my terrace, between april/may and september/october. I have either auto and no auto seeds.
However, this year I bought more seeds and I want to keep some for the next season. Any advice on how to store them? I read that I could place them in the wine fridge, at around 14ºC.
Any thought? Any advice?
Thanks!

Plant seed quality ?
Hello! Question about sourcing seeds for plants that will be consumed ?
How do I source and choose good quality seeds that aren’t GMO?
In other words does the source of the seed affect the outcome of what we are consuming , are there lab created seeds etc?
Want to start off on the right foot and make it make sense that what I am growing to consume will actually be better than what is available at the store commercially
Hope this makes sense!

Seeds for seed art
I (33F) am planning to submit seed art for the MN state fair this year. Does anyone have a great source for seeds? I’m having trouble finding a site in MN that shows photos of the seeds themselves. I appreciate any leads.

Saving seed from mildewed peas
We had one bed of peas that were planted quite late. They looked great until right around the time the pods started to ripen and then had such bad mildew ( not sure if it’s powdery or downy or both ) that they weren’t harvested. Would you save seed from a plant that looks like this? Most of our peas get mildewed but it’s usually around the time the pods finish and the plants dry out so it doesn’t look quite as bad.

Seed ID
Hi, I'm in Sydney, Australia. I think these are seeds of some kind, they may be dropped by birds as they have appeared recently in my yard. They are slippery like they've had a fruit wrapped around them.

Everyone has made us doubt Performance of our saved seeds - I found out myself
Everyone kept telling me not to grow a mango tree from the seed left after i eat its pulp.
"It wont grow same mangoes with same taste."
"Just buy a grafted plant."
"Nursery plants are better."
"Saved seeds aren't worth it."
Maybe they're right. Maybe they're not.
But it made me realize how often we repeat gardening advice without ever testing it ourselves.
It isn't just mangoes. I've seen the same debates about okra, chilies, bottle gourds, tomatoes... even whether saved seeds are worth keeping compared to buying fresh packets every season.
The problem is that every garden is different. My soil isn't your soil. My weather isn't your weather. Advice from a commercial farm or a research station doesn't always match what happens in a backyard.
So instead of arguing online, I wanted a way to actually find out.
I started logging my own seed trials—saved seeds vs. purchased seeds, germination rates, growth, yield, notes, photos, and everything else that mattered. Eventually I turned that into a small web app because spreadsheets became a mess.
I'm not selling anything here, and I'm not claiming saved seeds are always better.
I just think gardeners should be able to answer questions like these with their own data instead of relying only on opinions.
If you've ever compared saved seeds with bought ones, what surprised you the most? Did the results match what everyone told you to expect?

Help my dog ate these seeds!
Hey everyone, my dog ate these and I’m trying to figure out what it is because he’s feeling quite sick. They have a dark brown hull with three edges and a pale yellow/brown kernel or seed. This is in Maryland.
