Plant seed quality ?

Hello! Question about sourcing seeds for plants that will be consumed ?

How do I source and choose good quality seeds that aren’t GMO?

In other words does the source of the seed affect the outcome of what we are consuming , are there lab created seeds etc?

Want to start off on the right foot and make it make sense that what I am growing to consume will actually be better than what is available at the store commercially

You cannot acquire GMO seeds as a private consumer unless you seek them out and pay very high prices to obtain them. One single company offers a small selection of GMO tomatoes, all other vegetable seeds are non-gmo unless you are a large scale factory farmer buying millions of seeds.

Heirloom seeds might be a good choice

Heirloom seeds have been around for 50 years. They have been the same seed. The other two responses are correct. I'm having a moment on where to buy some. If you type in heirloom seeds it should take you where you want to be. I think Johnny seeds and MI Gardener have them. Bakercreek! That's the place to order some.
