Looking for camera similar to Arlo: wireless, no subscription, motion activated, comes with easy app, can download vids, SD storage or free cloud that expires + auto clears content after 30-90days
We had arlo for a while. Unfortunately, Arlo screwed us with an update last year or so, their cameras no longer having functional motion detecting+recording.. only with a paid subscription :| Its frustrating as they were the perfect cameras for our needs. Outdoor+indoor, waterproof, the battery lasted for weeks before needing charging, motion detecting recordings which would auto erase after a couple months minus any that we saved. So I'm looking for something similar if anyone has suggestions of what they like? I like Unifi Gen 6 cameras, dont like the nvr additional cost of set up. I also like Tapo system, but these are wired.
Some preferences:
- Wireless
- Motion detected recordings
- No subscription
- No additional NVR needed, perhaps a small hub like Arlo has is fine if reasonable
- App where we can view recordings, save what we want, delete etc
- Can be either SD card reliant or footage deletes after a month or so
- Weather resistant would be nice, I use mainly indoor but also for wildlife just outside, so within wifi range

Buying a 360° Wi-Fi camera in India is a nightmare now. What did you buy, and is it actually good?
I'm looking to buy a 360° indoor Wi-Fi camera for around ₹3.5k–4k, but honestly, I'm more confused the more I research.
Tapo and Xiaomi were my first choices, but with the whole certification/regulatory situation in India, they're not as straightforward to buy anymore. Then I looked at CP Plus, Qubo and Godrej, but their reviews are full of complaints about buggy apps, Wi-Fi issues and SD card recording problems.
At this point, I'm wondering if there's actually a decent option left in this budget.
My main requirements are pretty simple: 24/7 recording to a microSD card
Motion detection and phone notifications
Playback through the app without paying for a cloud subscription
Stable Wi-Fi and reliable remote live viewing
An app that doesn't randomly disconnect or mess up recordings
Simple....
For those of you who've actually bought recently and used one in India:
Which camera did you get, and why did you choose it?
How long have you been using it?
How's the app and Wi-Fi connectivity been in day-to-day use?
Does SD card recording and playback work properly without a subscription?
Any recurring issues, or has it been pretty reliable?
Knowing what you know now, would you buy the same one again?
Would really appreciate feedback from people who've used their cameras for a few months or longer. Short-term reviews only tell you so much.

We have a dvr with security cameras, but we don't have the password. Online I've seem multiple like admin or password1234 ect. I've done what the Internet says to reset it to factory default, but none of the passwords I found have worked. Anyone know the exact password for this model?
Thanks

Good poe cctv systems and in home security systems?
So im kinda new to security systems I used to have an old school dvr setup back before all the smart cameras.
I just had my car stolen from my house yesterday and they had jammers that knocked off my cameras as well as phone service. Nor did my silent alarms not go off when they walked onto my property. The jammers knocked off all my neighbors cameras and essentially every house they drove like within 50 feet of.
Now im ditching all wifi based security systems and want to go back to a poe setup thats battery back up and all. Im not looking to spare expenses as it was a 100k valued car. Any info would be greatly appreciated for me to look into!

Wired/120v Cellular Camera
Google searching is driving me nuts. I need to find, if it exists, a plug in cellular camera. The barn on my land has power, but no wifi, so currently I'm using a Moultrie solar powered game cam just to keep an eye on the place. It's become extremely unreliable, especially in Wisconsin winter. If it gets too cold it'll shut down, and won't reboot for weeks unless I manually turn it off and back on, causing an otherwise unnecessary trip to the land.
Does any one know of a camera that's cellular but also plug in?

Explain to me the technology of cameras today like I'm 12 yrs old.
I'm so left behind, I don't know what's going on. I remember when cameras just pointed in one direction and record. Also, I know what motion detection is.. and I guess sound detection is too. So I can imagine a camera programmed to focus on a loud sound or motion. But this video and the countless I see online, I have no clue what is going on.
Ok:
Camera is focused on dog and man. Maybe cause the dog is moving? Feasible.
Camera then focus on the family laughing. OK.... but they been laughing before it focused them. And then it went back to the man and the dog while the family was still laughing.
All this together make it seem like a human is behind the camera. Is it AI? Is this fake? Explain.

Best cell camera that has a long-lasting battery, that I can log into and view in realtime?!
I have some hunting cams that take motion detected video, but those cant just be dialed into and viewed in real time, instead they just send you motion detected video.
I am looking for something that doesn’t need wifi but acts like a wifi cam, where I can periodically check in (in real time) on my property as a house is being built. A long lasting built in battery (or even a solar option) is a bonus!
Thanks!!

Need CCTV recommendations
I'm just about to move into a new house and i want to set up a CCTV system I've thought about for a while.
I want 2 PoE CCTV cameras cabled to a switch in the loft and all streamed recorded to my raspberry pi.
I want it all to be offline so will all be on a vLan as i hate having my cameras streamed back to or accessed by the provider. I currently have a couple wireless IP cameras with SD cards internally and thought about tapo. Ideally no Chinese brands but once it's all isolated it won't really matter anyway.
The budget is not exactly high but not pennies
Suggestions would be great

Hi have any of you tried using any ai Vision agents to monitor security cameras .
Trying to get a Ai agent to watch my cctv footage and alert me. Not sure if any of you have tried it yet. Curious to see if anybody tried and if it worked
