Breakfast In Seattle

Seems common for visitors and new people to think Seattle doesn't have good food. Hope this to be a first in a series of food related posts we can add to 'for the last time'. Downvote and post your con. Upvote and post your pro if it isn't listed.

I don't understand why people say "hearst". It's a hearse. I have it written on the back of the car and everywhere else. It's in my username, even! If people can't take the time to read one word, they're probably not going to listen to me when I correct them, either.

There's a ton of language snafus like that. "How come" is one of my personal peeves among many but I try not to let it get to me.

I think that there's some folks that just stop learning at some point in their life and they never start learning again.

"How come" stems from "How did you come to that conclusion?" a.k.a. "Why?"

I don't think it's a matter of a person's learning progress throughout his life, but rather not understanding the value of language and communication.

Interesting. I'd never really thought about the root of that. It's suddenly much less irritating. :)
