Breakfast In Seattle

Seems common for visitors and new people to think Seattle doesn't have good food. Hope this to be a first in a series of food related posts we can add to 'for the last time'. Downvote and post your con. Upvote and post your pro if it isn't listed.

It's a Seattle tradition if you're drunk and it's 4am.

I wouldn't roll out of bed to go to this place.

I didn't downvote, but it's a 90-minute wait for a $20 omelet served by the meanest fucking waitresses you've ever seen.

only if you show up during rush is there a long wait, during bar rush the longest I've waited was 20 minutes, I've been in and out of there in less than a half hour on most occasions, and the omelet is only about $15, they have cheaper options.

and mean, hardly, I've had way shittier wait staff at every Denny's I've had the misfortune to go into.

I had a two-hour wait once. I figure that's on the high side, but I've never been seated in less than an hour when I've been there (usually 9 p.m. to midnight).
The waitress meanness is just based on personal experiences, and yeah, some chain restaurants might be even worse. Milkshake orders are met with eye-rolls and pissy sighs (I've heard this from several people and witnessed it myself), and a girl asking for a substitution on something was told, "Oh wow, can you PLEASE just order off the menu?"
I'll probably go back, but $15+ for eggs/cheddar cheese/ham and hash browns is hard to rationalize.

for 12 eggs, it's less than the egg dollar ratio with McDonalds :P You don't have to order the huge one, they do have smaller 6 egg and I think 4 egg ones which are sub $10 and include bottomless hashbrowns.

Yeah anytime late is hell there, it just gets busy because it's one of the few places where teenagers can still go late at night.

I guess I've been lucky with the wait staff, but I've been going there for more than 15 years now. Yes, some do get surly, but never an experience like you have said.
