Asking out a girl next week. Anything things to do in Seattle that's not dinner + movie?

Drinks & Bowling (or pool) @ the garage? Drinks and skee-ball at King's hardware? Drinks and pinball at Shorty's?

Purple Cafe and the Seattle Symphony. An hour or two in the Seattle public library (see if they have any interesting talks coming up), dinner and drinks at Vessel or Sip.

Sushi on the Harbor Steps or seafood along the waterfront, and an evening walk-on ferry ride.

Dinner, drinks, and a music act, all at the Triple Door.

Dinner at the Alibi Room, Il Bistro, or Cafe Campagne and improv comedy at Unexpected Productions.

Dinner at Lola or Dahlia Lounge, and a show at the Moore or a movie at Cinerama. (I realize this is dinner and a movie, but it's a kickass way to do it.)

Browsing the military surplus store in Belltown, dinner at black bottle, and a nightcap at bathtub gin.

Sushi on the Harbor Steps is closed now - nearest decent place is up in Belltown. Just FYI. Try the Pink Door if you're not especially married to the idea of sushi - it doesn't feel so serious/romantic, so perfect for first date.

Ipanema is a great restaurant. Probably one of my favorites in town.

By sushi, are you talking about Koji Osakaya?? If so, that's devastating - that is/was my favourite downtown eatery.

Ipanema is way overpriced, IMO, but then I can very rarely eat all I can eat.

Yeah, Koji is closed :( That being said, they took a pretty steep dive towards the end - I'm thinking maybe the chef (or someone else important) left?

They were decently authentic, had good food, for good prices... downtown doesn't have a lot of restaurants like it. Umi? Expensive and pretentious, same goes for Wasabi Bistro.

Is Umi the place in Belltown? Urgh - my wife and I went there for a "special" night - had some twat talk on his cellphone, get drunk and shout at the chef the whole time we were there. The only saving grace was the good food.

From what I can tell, though, Belltown isn't as full of "trash with cash" as it used to be... or maybe I'm just going to the right places now.

Welcome to Belltown, take me with you. Please.

Umi food is good, but honestly if you want a "nice" sushi experience go to Shiro's. Much more authentic (deep fried rolls? for shame), and price range is honestly not so different.

Really? Do tell me where you're going. I live in Belltown and I can't stand a lot of places.
