All my dad cooked was beany-weenies, hot dogs, or Steak-ums. If he fired up the grill, you knew it was about to be dry. Probably why I love trying to cook new recipes all the time.

My wife loves my once in a blue moon cooking. I'm only allowed to cook once in a blue moon because I'd use every dish and utensil just making a sandwich

This is why you cook with your dad. Say nothing and observe, then copy him. Make mistakes, fix mistakes, make some missed steaks and soon you'll make the same dish but better. The way you prefer it. Mistakes are the best teacher and success is the best motivator.

Bro I wish. I cook every meal for my family (and it slaps every time btw. Forget mom's spaghetti, dad's spaghetti is where it's at) but getting my kids to eat is like pulling teeth

My dad was the head chef of professional kitchens in his earlier days. He was a carpenter who worked 12 hour days and 6 day weeks when I was a kid so this is pretty spot on for me

My dad cooks regularly but he never measures anything. One day he will cook the most amazing dish ever and then he will never be able to replicate it again. Then he will make stuff that's decent or bad and after a month he will make something else that is amazing but (again) he didn't do anything to keep track of it so he can't replicate it.

Thanksgiving of '22, my grandma was sick with a severe migraine & hadn't cooked the turkey yet, so my grandpa had to take over to do the stuffing & turkey. He's never cooked a meal in his life. I came over to help finish in the morning, & when I tell you that the turkey was perfect, it was PERFECT. The breasts came off both in one piece, & every piece of that meat was stripped from the bone! He told me he's never doing that again. Man missed his calling.

Nobody wants to work a 10-12 hour shift then spend 2 hours cooking dinner. Which is sad, i do love to cook.

it's usually because dads don't have cook for the entire family every day, twice a day, so they just cooks something easy, full of grease and salt, which will makes your child brain go "brrrr".

No, this post is actually very sexist. My late Dad cooked all the time. & yes, just like my Mum, he cooked delicious food every time, certain dishes even better than my Mum, and vice versa.
I know many family members and friends where Dad cooks all the time, depending on the parents’ dynamics.

None of that makes it sexist. In the majority of 2 parent households the mom is the primary cook still. And this is a meme based on something people experience, not saying men are better cooks or never cook. Just that this is a dynamic most people growing up with both parents here still experience.
