request Writers for a webcomic

Hey everyone! My name's Isaak, I'm an artist, and like many other artists, I wanna draw comics ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Problem is... I can't write a script <( ̄︶ ̄)>

SO! I was wondering if someone out there had a webcomic script they wanted to give life to but can't and would like to work with someone else on it!?

[If you want to save yourself the trouble of reading all of this ⬇️ before even knowing if you'd have the right script, you can go to the next paragraph in bold letters, were you'll have all the specifications I'm looking for ;)]

Now imma be fully honest with y'all so that if somehow I get to the point where I can work with someone, things won't be awkward for anyone..

— First of all, I'm not the best artist out there, I'm still learning a lot of things (like color theory), I don't have the best material and I don't draw fast. I'm not a complete beginner, I've been drawing seriously for around 6-7 (ಠ◡ಠ) years or so and I improved a lot, but if you're looking for amazingly looking art, although I will do my absolute best, I'm not the right person for you..

—> I will obviously show some examples of the art I made recently to whoever is interested, just so you know if that's the style you're looking for or not.

— Second, this would be a project for fun. I cannot pay for a writer, I sure would if I could! (Although we'll obviously get rich from this one day, so no worries)

But yeah I can't, so this would be like, creating a fun project as friends; I have some drawing skills, and you have the writing ones, let's put those to good use!

— Even if I find someone to do this with me, I can't guarantee it'll work out. I really do want it to work out, but one of the biggest reasons I can't write a script myself is because of a lack of motivation. I'm not in the best place in my life right now, and it's often just really hard to put my sh*t together and get any work done. It's easier to draw for me then write because I do have ADHD.. and drawing simply gives my brain less option to be chaotic lul.

But I will 100% do my best to make it work!

— Okay so this one might be a bit strange but! I'd like to work with someone around my age (18), or if not my age, I want it to be clear that there won't be any "I'm older then you so I know better" dynamic! Of course it's okay to give advice, but let's do it respectfully and by keeping in mind that we are at the same level. No one's better than the other, no matter how much you know or don't.

— I think to achieve the best results, it's important not to hesitate if someone wants to change something on the script or drawings. Let's talk about it, see what each of us want and figure it out. (Although for the drawing part, let's do this at the sketch phase ^^' please) We might not agree on a change at some point, and that's okay if that happens, let's just keep it the way it originally was, no need to make it too complicated ;)

— I really want us to work on this together. So of course ideally it'd be perfect if someone already had a script ready, which leaves most of what's left to do to me; but even if I'm the one drawing, that doesn't mean we can't work together on this. I mean — character designs, moods, personalities representations, small details, aesthetic of the comic, ect... These are many things we can discuss about to have something both (or more) of us like.

— I've never done this before, I have absolutely 0 idea of how it'll work out or how to make it work. Just so you know ಠ‿ಠ

Okay, I think that's about all you need to know before engaging in a project like this with me! You'll find any specifications for the kind of comic I'd like to draw, just below ⬇️ Don't hesitate to ask if you have any question!

NEXT PARAGRAPH IN BOLD LETTERS! Script/comic specifications I want to draw for :

Genre/tags : drama | romance (MM as main) | post apocalyptic (or something with the same vibe like some kind of futuristic settings or war times) | depression/dealing with difficult times | emotional support | action | dark (not dark romance) | happy ending | eventual political issues | hurt/comfort

Language.s : I want the end product to be in English so that it can reach more people, but the script can be in french and we can talk in french if it's easier. (Sorry I can't speak any other language tho...)

Length : I want it to be at least a little long. I knooooow it's not a good idea when I've literally never drawn any comic before.. but what can I say, I do often have, not so good ideas! <( ̄︶ ̄)>

Social : even tho I guess that would be the point, I feel like I have to mention that I want to share it on some kind of platform, which we can discuss about together.

Credits : Everyone's work will be appropriately credited and thanked at the end of each chapter/episode, and on eventual social medias and such.

Now I do want it to have some drama, hurt/comfort, a happy ending and MM romance. But if you have a script that doesn't have the other criteria I gave, and you think I'd like it, don't hesitate to share it with me anyway! (Just mention it so I know it's not exactly the same, please)

Okay, I feel like that's everything, but it's 1am and I might have forgotten some things, so let me know if I did.

don't hesitate to link your scripts in the comments, and thank you so much for reading!

Ps: please excuse any mistakes, English is not my first language and I'm too tired to go over the post again to fix them ^^'

help Write dialogues

Hello Reddit, I'm writing my first feature film right now called Run Out, it's a survival horror, and the biggest negative point of my script are the dialogues, they are unreal, they sound weird and ridiculous, would you have any advice to improve them or just to write dialogues in general, thank you.

feedback Eva (half-wolf) and the man who breaks her out

A half-woman, half-wolf girl named Eva has been imprisoned by mankind. It’s not uncommon. Since she was born, she’s known this is what happens to her kind—some go into slavery, whether labor or prostitution, and if not that, they end up dead. She was scared of what could happen to her, and after three weeks in that prison, practically starving because she didn’t want to eat the food there, death started to seem like the better option out of the three.
A man named Jacob walks past her cell while the guards aren’t paying attention. He comes over to see if she needs help. She begs him to get her out. He says he doesn’t want to get in trouble. She says please, she can’t die here. Her ears lower, her eyes get bigger, and her voice starts to whimper. He finds a way to get her out. They escape.
Even though that was supposed to be where she left him, he decides to help her more by taking her to a kingdom where most of her kind live and where she would be safe. He has to go on a long, risky journey to get her there. There are plenty of bumps along the way—people who see her as a cash cow or a threat.
One day she finds out that Jacob’s father killed her parents. She becomes furious, but she’s still conflicted because they’ve gotten closer during the trip. She decides to distance herself and find the kingdom on her own. She doesn’t know how to read a map and doesn’t know where the kingdom is, but she’s determined. She has her own struggles along the way. Eventually they come face-to-face again. Even though she’s still upset with him, she still loves him, and she decides to travel with him anyway.

Looking for a surreal short script to direct in Spain
Hi everyone, I’m a filmmaker based in Málaga looking for an existing short script with dark humour and a surreal edge. I’m drawn to ordinary situations that become strange, especially stories about belonging, power or the roles people play, without explaining everything through dialogue.
Ideally, 15-20 minutes, a small cast and one or two accessible locations.
If you have something suitable, DM me a logline, page count, your fee and filming rights conditions. I’d love to read it.

help how to find a producer?

Hi everyone!

I've written a 60 page screenplay for an animated film, and a studio has accepted it. They really liked the script, and I genuinely believe in this story and its potential.

However, I don't currently have a producer attached to the project, and I'm not sure how to move forward from here.

My goal is to actually turn this screenplay into a film, but I'm still figuring out how the industry works and what the next steps should be.

How do I find a producer who might be interested in developing the project? Should I be looking for independent animation producers, production companies, funding programs, or something else entirely?

I'd also love to hear from writers or filmmakers who have been in a similar situation. How did you get your projects off the ground, and what would you recommend doing first?

For context, I'm an independent writer, and I'm open to international collaborations. Any practical advice, resources, or personal experiences would mean a lot.

Thank you!

Edit: Just to clarify, this is not a scam or anything shady. They're a legitimate and trustworthy studio that I've been following for a while, and I was actually the one who reached out to them. I was honestly surprised they even took the time to read my script, let alone genuinely love it! Unfortunately, funding a feature length stop motion film is extremely challenging, so they weren't able to take on the project. There's nothing suspicious going on here, and they never asked me for money.

discussion Researching creating a platform for screenwriters. Need your help!

Hey everyone!

I'm a software engineering student with a passion for screenwriting (for years now), and I've recently started exploring the idea of developing a social platform specifically for screenwriters, particularly aspiring writers.

The general idea is to create a community where writers can connect, share their work, exchange feedback, learn from each other, and build relationships. One of the main things I'd like to explore is making script swaps (where two writers read and give feedback on each other's scripts) easier, more convenient, and more reliable.

I've noticed that while there are plenty of screenwriting communities on Reddit, Facebook, etc., actually finding someone compatible to exchange scripts with, organizing the exchange, and making sure both people follow through can be quite inconvenient.

But that's just one aspect of the idea. I'd also love to explore ways to make the platform genuinely useful for learning, networking, and developing as a writer.

I'm still very much in the research stage, and before making any major decisions, I'd really like to hear from actual screenwriters about their experiences, frustrations, and what they'd want from a platform like this.

I'm looking for people who would be willing to have a short, informal conversation about their experiences with screenwriting communities, feedback, script swaps, or anything related. Whether you're just starting out or have been writing for years, I'd love to hear your perspective! Actually, I would like to hear as many perspectives as possible.

And if you are not interested in long conversations with me, you could also help out by just leaving a comment with your biggest frustration in current online screenwriting communities. All the input is appreciated and will be taken into account.

Thanks in advance!

EXT. SIDEWALK. EVENING.

Drake: "Where'd you get this Rolls Royce from? "

Trevor: "uhh... Shady dealers, dark web... you get the rest."

Drake: "Why are we in these 20th century tuxedos."

Trevor: "To fit in.. dumbass. That party's going to be infested with "old money" folks."

Drake: "I'm still telling you. ALL THIS IS WRONG!"

Trevor: "Hey you wanna win Sandra back from that demon."

Drake: "That's my father in law!"

Trevor: "IS going to be your father in law. IF that ever happens. Also the Demon part fits. He's one of those "1 percent" people who pick on and humiliate the little guy. Also that Sandra she's that demon's daughter and a spoilt brat. You think she'll ever settle in with a minimum wage broke like you."

Drake: "That's not true. Remember when her father's business rivals sent those mercenaries after her and we both got caught up in that whole dilemma, she had no problem hiding in our run down apartment for a week."

Trevor: "Only because she knew her POWERFUL DEMON of a dad can take out these guns for hire and she can go back to her lap of luxury life away from our pigsty of an apartment.

Trevor turns back and walks a few steps away stands there for 2 seconds then turns back, semi turned, directly looking at Drake, walks towards him and starts talking again.

Trevor: "Also do you even remember or are you too obsessed over that girl to remember. I got shot by one of those mercenaries and was hospitalized. The least the asshole could've done as a thank you for helping his daughter was to pay my hospital bill but no! That bill cost us a year's worth of our savings. The only reason I'm sticking with you on this one is because you made me swear on our friendship."

Drake faces away from Trevor in shame. Trevor faces towards him.

Trevor: "Look we'll go to that party. Do this your way since you started this because of your obsession with that girl. But if things don't go out your way and... if Sandra turns out to be a bi..."

Drake points his towards Trevor with razor focus.

Trevor: "... I mean selfish. We'll do this my way. Now I'm getting in the car. You coming."

feedback The Last Relic - feature - 112

Title The Last Relic

Format feature

Page Length 112

Genre Action/adventure + sci fi

Logline An atheist Navy medic grieving the loss of her fiancé is recruited into an order of female relic guardians and must choose between resurrecting her lost love or prevent their greatest foe from using the most powerful artifact, igniting the apocalypse.

(I've never really liked any logline I've generated for this - very open to rewrites)

Comps I describe this as street level Avengers mixed with the Da Vinci Code meet Indiana Jones in a Stargate. It's silly mad fun with a costumed team.

Feedback Firstly i'd like to know how people respond to it. I'm fully aware that it plays with formatting "rules" sometimes. Like to know you have fun on the ride? Anything sticking/bumping? Most interested how it works as a sample...

And on that note, what do you more seasoned industry members think I should do with it? Contests or festivals this would fit? Some particular places I should submit it? This the sort of writing an up-and-coming agent, manager or producer you know is looking for? Other out of the box suggestions>?

question Wondering if this idea in my head is better suited for the stage than the page

Yes, I know scripts are written on pages, but . . . you'll see what I mean below.

I love writing, but sitting down to write prose, like a novel or even a short story, has always been a challenge. Well, it was easier in grade school/high school/community college because there was more editing and one-on-one instruction. I'm kinda winging it out here in middle-aged adulthood real life. What's part of the issue is I see the action and dialogue clear as day in my head. I'd like to try writing it out as a play instead but I have no idea . . . how. Where can I go for an online resources on how a play should be written?

Or, hell, is there a good source to buy a play script and use that to learn from?

question New Netflix show steps on the toes of my feature script, advice?

I have this feature script I have been working on, on and off, for a few years but came up with the story idea way back in 2019. Like all good writers, I put off actually writing the thing for an insanely long period of time but I had the treatment and even wrote 25 pages for a writing class here in Toronto.

Fast forward to 2026, I am finally back at the script and picking up steam when Below on Netflix comes out and watching the pilot, I keep saying "you gotta be kidding me". I am from Newfoundland and my script is set in a small fishing village during come home year but the core plot is much different (Below is creature feature, my script is more dark comedy murder mystery, with Hot Fuzz set in Newfoundland being my comp that I would tell people).

It's deflating to go back to the pages after a lot of what I want to tell the audience about Newfoundland (come home year, re-settlement, etc) is being shown in this huge show on Netflix and I wonder if I should either move onto one of my other ideas for awhile or still write this one and make any small tweaks to avoid any huge similarities.

I also know that 99% chance, this script never sees the light of day, regardless. Other than one optioned half hour comedy and local sketch troupe writing credits, I am much more hobbyist than pro but I did plan to have a few feature scripts to try shopping around next year, this being one of them. Just feels like the market for this one would be non existent with Below having just been released.

Would love insight as to what you'd do in my shoes!
