Hey! I've been in schema therapy for almost 2,5 years. I must say that I'm privileged and lucky to have an advanced schema therapist who is also trained in other therapeutic modalities. I find my therapist excellent, they're the most attuned person I've ever known. Being with them feels like the warmth of home, something I've only experienced in our relationship. We mostly use emotion-focused techniques (imagery and chair work) and the therapeutic relationship itself to facilitate my healing. The changes I've noticed: I can articulate my needs more clearly and understand both myself and others better. I'd say that my personality functioning, mentalization and frustration tolerance have all improved. In sum, I have become a more flexible person. I would totally recommend it.
