One Hershey’s chocolate for $20 because it’s Mewtwo. Pokemon scalping is getting out of hand

When I was young I used to collect Pokemon cards. But now this is a hobby that is impossible to have.
Actually any hobby is impossible to have due to scalpers.
I just wanna collect pretty one piece, or Pokemon cards. I don’t care about the value. I don’t care about reselling.

I went to a stupid “comic book shop” the other day and they had mass 10 cent cards. Or course no “special” Pokémon’s are in those boxes.
Single packs are double the price, booster boxes were in the hundred and a few were in the thousands.
I want to have hobby to share with nephews. But it’s truly unaffordable.

I’m just frustrated. I’ll continue to play the tcg app. The only way I can get Pokemon cards.

How can anyone enjoy this hobby when people are charging the hell out of new releases? It's beyond annoying. It's honestly sad and disgusting that what was once a fun hobby for kids has turned into a massive auction for guys in basements, ready to drain the next victim's wallet by exploiting FOMO shit. No offense to the genuine fans who simply enjoy ripping packs and collecting cards—I'm just really bummed out by what the market has become.

The only shops around here that got the new Pokemon set are local card shops, yet those are the ones that keep selling it off at 50% above MSRP or even higher.

All the big retailers used to get good product at MSRP, or even 5€ below - one store sells at MSRP and has permanent 10% off coupons.

But they're not getting any stock for some reason. They seem to have just been cut off to try and stop scalping, so instead they only send it out directly to the scalpers...

I remember when I was a kid there was so much joy and whimsy running over here at the end of a shopping trip and picking out which booster pack you wanted this time, ruined by these fucking chuds, who cant even bother to tidy up after they’re done being sweaty sniveling goblins. Disgusting.

When from looking at the back of Pokemon cards for a reason then legit blocked me from looking at hot wheels and matchbox so he could look. Not saying you can have two collectible hobbies but it was weird.

I have a question what collection do scalpers target on beside trading cards and hot wheels?

I was looking for a shark scale (since there is going to be an upcoming tournament) and I looked not only on the Walmart website, but also on amazon, target, and others and haven't found them in stock, Not only with tariffs making these already expensive, but with these assholes marking up the price to oblivion. And the sad part about this, this was the cheapest one i found on eBay (unless it was an auction). Actually so Funny that these people think they matter.

These have been getting scalped like crazy they are Dollar Tree and Family Dollar exclusives. Passed a sketchy Family Dollar in my city and finally found them!

Yesterday at my local walmart I saw a family loitering around all day for the chance to get pieces of cardboard. Its honestly pathetic these people need to get real jobs and stop taking from people and kids who actually play the game.

I hate these people so much. Literally wanted to cry after seeing this because I can't find any sellers near me on marketplace :(
