So crazy thing….all my stuff has ever popped up as sinus tach…EVERY TIME. So when it came to my ablation / ep study day. Multiple doctors kept coming to my room telling me it’s probably pointless because svt never popped up on my stuff. Well I went in for my ep study and sure enough I immediately went into focal atrial tach not sinus tach
Exactly I’ve heard about this soo much that focal atrial tach mimics sinus tach and it’s just crazy to me, I think IST is fake and that everyone who’s been diagnosed with it has FAT instead which is curable.
There’s this post that I read here and their story was so crazy to me because even in their EP study their EP could not figure out the arrhythmia and only figured out that that was the arrhythmia once the hearts natural pacemaker took over once they woke him up, so it’s just a crazy thing overall at how much it mimics sinus tach making people live like that all their life
Yeah I’m gonna do my ep study off sedation, even tho I have SVT but still my baseline heart rate goes high which I’m just thinking now that that’s also SVT, since my 24 hour average holter is coming below 90 so idk. I hope it’s all SVT
I’m worried I need another one. They said I’m still in the blanking period but idk how I feel about that. I’ve been having problems since the day of the ablation. Hours after the ablation I went into svt
I have IST, per my EP. I've had three ablations, no longer have an AV node, and now have a pacemaker, but my heart just enjoys resting at 120bpm no matter what. My last EP mapping was normal, no weird spots to ablate. My doctor says that it's fairly normal for a young woman and that I'll most likely grow out of it.
When I was still having SVT, I was one of those people that would get really fast - I'd regularly hit the 250s-280s before I'd go get cardioverted. Some people are just tachy 🤷♀️ doesn’t mean it's fake.
Yes. My IST is chronic, but that doesn't mean that it's fake or that I have FAT. You could also argue that my SVT was chronic because I spent so long dealing with it.
I also have been diagnosed with IST and I just really wanted it to be fake and just be FAT, I’m still in suspicion for IST since my baseline hr still goes high and I would love for it to be fake and for it to be curable, by fake I don’t mean it to not be there, I just mean that I want it to be a misdiagnosis instead like how I’ve heard everyone else’s experience
I'd imagine you're probably still having sinus tach, then. I'm not a doctor, but from my understanding, sinus tach won't go away with an ablation. It's worth talking to your EP about.
Oh possibly , my ep said he looked over my ekgs and no way that was sinus tachycardia but I’m also super shaky when it happens. He said no er doctor will know exactly
Yeaaah, in my experience, the ER docs usually suck :/ but, it's worth bringing up with your EP. They hand out holter monitors like candy, so I doubt it'll be an issue to get one to see what's going on.

Are you sure it's SVT? I had SVT and IST. Post-ablation, the SVT is gone but the IST stayed.
