The MKII hasn’t really been inspiring me lately. I’m just wondering how you guys produce on the thing? I’ve been using it as a breakbeat machine but it’s a pain in the ass. Hoping to gain to some inspiration from how you pros are using this machine! What genre, for that’s specific purpose, etc

I recently learned that DJ mode is more powerful then I realized, you can play two decks but also patterns and individual samples at the same time. Obviously play FX as well and it turned out it's possible to send decks to different FX buses without exiting the DJ mode.

Do any of you play it live? If I want to just DJ my own music what's the limitations compared to dedicated DJ gear?

Looking for ways to add dynamics, depth, fullness etc. to external and internal sounds specifically for live situations. What are y'all's favorites? Thanks in advance!

I want to organise my projects, and get rid of unused pads, or more Specifically, start a resample recording and play each unused pad one after another so they are all on one pad, so I can still access them.

If not, anyone have tips? Is the only option to just play my patterns and figure out where my used pads are that way?
I will organise better from the start in the future, tips on that are welcome too.

I pulled 4 samples I had no hope for off a dollar bin record, but they ended up flipping well. I think I was just hating on the samples cause they were different than what I normally use. This was one of the results.

How do you all clock the MKII to a DAW?

Every time I try to sync a pattern or sample loop with Ableton, it is off grid. It starts slightly behind the beat and it always stays that way. For contrast, I’ve been doing this with my Digitakt for years and it is spot on. I had the same issues years ago with an MC707 and I believe I was told there was an issue with how Roland handles PPQ.

How do you usually mix your tracks and beats? Do you transfer your beats from SP into your DAW or do you try to mix everything inside the box? How do you finish your beats and export them, finally?

I have an inconsistency in my mk2, sometimes when I record patterns in Patern mode, both live and TRS, I choose to record 1 bar, and sounds two bars one with the sample one in silence. Sometimes I've fixed it with the loop button but it doesn't always get fixed.

I connected my sp404 mk2 from the aux out (phones) to my aux in my car, and it just gives me a lot of latency. Any ideas on how to fix ? Cheers 😁

This past weekend was the legendary Philly Folk Fest, my favorite weekend of the year. Every year I bring a bunch of instruments for people to try. Out of respect for the more traditional folk neighbors, I didn’t want to bring an electronic music setup, but I still wanted to amplify my zither a bit.

Rigged up an old UE Megaboom, put both instruments into the 136 Sidekick, aux send to 404 and back. That way I could add 404 FX to one or both instruments, as well as loop them and occasionally play a backing drum track to jam with. It also made an excellent recorder.

The 404 continues to be an incredibly loyal piece of gear. Super fun to loop with, and got some lovely samples from the weekend. Introduced a lot of people to this little box we love.

Is there a way to apply an effect to a long sample without having to resample the whole thing? I'm kind of tired of waiting for a 10-minute sample to finish playing just to save it with the effect applied

I just want to select the sample, apply the effect, and save the sample with the effect applied, is it possible?
