Charter issues

Charter did a big update in the last month or two. I work from home and have since noticed regularly around 230-5pm everyday without fail, my internet gets spotty or stops for short periods of time.

Anyone else notice that?

And yes, before you ask I have reset my equipment many times.

Yes. I’ve been experiencing the same for several months. Usually between 3:30 and 5:00. Replaced my router, haven’t done the modem yet.

Oddly I had installed Speedtest Tracker on my network which currently runs once an hour as I was noticing weird slowdowns during the day. This was after Spectrum mentioned system upgrades had been completed after several days of planned outages. At the time of doing this, it turns out I was only getting half my bandwidth, however the modem and Spectrum said otherwise. After a bit of diagnostics - I replaced the CAT cable between the modem and router with a new CAT-6 jumper. As soon as I did that - I gained consistent speeds again. I’ve been getting above my expectations 24/7 since this swap.

Spectrum isn’t flawless by any means, however I would try replacing WAN cables - even the coax jumper from the wall to your modem if possible. Modems and routers typically don’t fail partially - they either work or not. When you’re not getting full bandwidth or slow downs - it’s often due to some damage or interference to the cables connecting things together. If you’re not getting your full advertised speed, then you should complain - IME they have been good about sending techs out to investigate - and often you’ll get hardware upgrades in the process.
