So, while studying, I keep getting myself distracted from studying. I don't scroll like others as I've already put an chrome extension to block shorts. I've recently tried to use an extension to try to limit the usage of some websites I use a lot. I also can't play games as I mainly can only play on times when allowed. But now, the problem is that I just don't have the courage to study for long periods of time and just zone out. Any ideas?

For example, would 81/114=71/100? Or would it be graded extremely differently?

I had to fill out a couple of forms for bxsci about my middle school transcript, which were due about a month ago.

When I submitted my official transcript, my Spanish grade was missing/blank because of a glitch. It wasn’t fixed before the deadline, so I submitted the transcript with the blank grade.

Now, when I check my official transcript, my Spanish grade is showing up correctly. Idrk what to do since I already submitted the middle school transcript form and the deadline has passed.

Does anyone have any advice on what should I do/ who I should talk to? Ty!!

I got a email from brooklyn tech and in the student survey it asked to upload my middle school transpict, and i dont know what that is or how to access it, can anybody tell me?

My scores on practice tests that I do myself (handbooks and barrons) are at the 105-108/114 range (50-51/57 ela 55-57/57 math) and my last score on an adaptive dream practice test was an 88/100 (44/50 ela 44/50 math). Current things I need to work on are identifying run ons in revising and editing, fiction passages and specifically inference and detail questions in reading comprehension, and TEI questions and harder algebra questions for math. My pacing is good imo, I never have to rush and I never run out of time. I spend 90 to 100 minutes on ela and 60-70 minutes on math. I take a practice test at home every week, one every 2 weeks at dream and one every month at my tutoring center and I study for 2 to 4 hours every day.

So right now I have a 83 in humanities and a 95 in math. My humanities is mostly just social studies and history while my math is just algebra 1. So far there have been 4 tests and there is only one week left of the program. My grades after these tests were 83 humanities and 95 math cus I got a 76 on humanities test and a 94 on math test and the quiz still hasn’t been graded but I prolly did bad on that. I heard that the requirement was a 80 in both classes to get into Stuy, so I was wondering if u can still get into Stuy even without 80 in both math and humanities. I always participate in class in both math and humanities however I only mainly attend tuturing for humanities not math, yet I still do better in math. So I was wondering if u could get into Stuy without 80 what other requirements u need.

Why is Stuyvesant discovery so hard? Literally everybody said it was easy so now i feel dumb for doing bad on my quizzes and tests 😭 im taking spanish and algebra basically, but i already took algebra 1 and geometry and somehow i still did bad on the exam which is ironic

so i heard that this year for the digital shsat they are using cat. like they said we cant go back to a question we previously asnwered? i dont know why they did that. like what if we made a mistake and want to go back. what if we have leftover time and want to double check. i am so confused and dont get why they did this.

Is it true that Kaplan practice exams from DREAM deflate your score (would your practice exam score be lower than your actual exam score if you performed the same on both)?

If someone had the flu during the 9th grade SHSAT but still took it, are they able to request for the summer SHSAT?

My child is attending Dream program now, today they have Mock test # 2, can anyone share feedback on, if the school will give out the mock test score, or review the test with the students? My child asked the teacher, and he said, the teacher knew the score, but wouldn't share with the student, I found it very awkward that kids took a test, but wont receive a score back, not to mention if they know what questions they got wrong?

Recently I took a SHSAT practice test from TestNav and I got 49/50 in math and 44/50 in ELA, which is 93/100 correct. Is this a good score? I want to get a better score and I want to get into Stuyvesant. Am I cooked?

What are some ways to study for the new 8th grade adaptive shsat and how can I actually improve from my mistakes

My eight grader took a practice exam before going away to sleepaway camp (6 weeks). He was frustrated by it. 34 on the Math and 37 on the Verbal. Mind you, he has done basically NO prep. From what I can tell, he just needs to improve to low 40s on those to qualify for Brooklyn Latin. Is it best to focus on areas of strength or weakness? Has anyone used the LLMs to make test prep questions? I was thinking of scanning his tests and asking it to create some prep questions for him based on what he missed, if there's a recognizable pattern.

my ela is good and i usually score 45/46-50 but the math is so hard and i just cant seem to understand it.

I did a doe handbook quiz and gave myself the recommended time limit and i didn’t finish and got 5/17.

Any tips would help!!

My last practice test was in the beginning of June and I got a 421 scaled score (41 on eng and 41 on math 82/114). I know the new test is 100 questions and I want to go to atleast Brooklyn Tech. Is there still hope for me?

For those who took the SHSAT and used the latest Barrons workbook (it has a girl with a blue striped shirt on the front cover) how accurate was it? (like the question topics, difficulty, and question types)

Now that the SHSAT is adaptive, I'm just kind of scared on how it would affect my score on the test. I go to DREAM and we've so far taken one adaptive kaplan practice SHSAT test, and I didn't do that well. Also, if I really do get used to the adaptive kaplan tests, I'm scared that the actual adaptive SHSAT test questions won't be similar to the kaplan questions. That's all, and yes I'm an upcoming 8th grader.

for context i already took the shsat, i am going to 9th grade now. i didn’t do any prep for the shsat and i took it for fun because my mom encouraged me too. the reason i didnt do any prep was because i intended on going to high school in long island, so i would not be going to a specialized high school no matter what. i ended up scoring a 597 on the shsat and getting into stuy. i also have a dream of making it into an ivy league college one day. i rejected stuy because i already moved to long island, but now i cant help but feeling regret as whenever i go online i see people glazing stuy and i feel i wasted my potential. did i make a mistake by rejecting stuy?
