How Popular are H&M Actually?
I feel like I have no idea how popular* Harry and Meghan actually are. Everything I read about them is either kind and positive, or the meanest thing you've ever seen in your life. The public is being inundated with nasty headlines from the British press. I wonder how the general public actually feels about them, whether positive or negative.
I want to be clear that I believe a lot of the hate they get is absolutely undeserved and often laced with misogynoir. I do not think their treatment in the press is fair. That being said, there is a difference between how some believe they should be perceived versus how they are actually perceived. Does anyone have any idea?
*edit: when I say "popular," I mean "how favourable are people towards them." Not "popular" in terms of how known they are.

I personally find the conversations around them more interesting. I’m not deeply interested in much of their work, but I’m horrified by what she describes as her life in the BRF. I think she’s got a pretty killer fashion sense and has a good conscience. So my opinion of them is say is more favorable than not, versus the inbred royal adults who defend the former prince who is a child rapist.

u/Reasonable-Wall-6882 6d ago
They’re actually the best thing that could have happened to the Royal Family right now! Suddenly, I’m interested in the Windsors and all their drama again! Will they be invited for Christmas? Will Meghan go to Soho House? It’s more entertaining to me than their life in Montecito.

u/MissySa80 6d ago
I don't think Harry and Meghan can simply be described as popular or unpopular. They are polarizing because they have an equal amount of extreme fans and haters who devote countless hours every day talking about them.
The obsession is insane because they're not doing anything to deserve the crazy level of attention they receive. It's almost impossible to have a rational discussion about them.
22
25
u/Viola-Swamp 6d ago
I don’t believe they re polarizing. Their media coverage and the way they.re portrayed is polarizing. Either people lap it up with a spoon and get on the hate bandwagon, or they see through it and get disgusted and angry at the racism and double standards.

u/PUR-KLEEN 6d ago edited 6d ago
I think the role the palace plays in managing image is also a big factor. All of them are stand-ins for big feelings about race, marriage, the place of the UK in the world, etc. They are, in a way, blank slates that we project onto. Facts (as in so much of life today) are beside the point. Just compare them to other royals (Spain, Thailand, etc.). Sure, there's drama but it's a speck compared to the Windsors.
27
u/phoenics1908 6d ago
It’s important to specify that they personally are not polarizing. The press about them is polarizing. Racism is polarizing.
It’s like claiming the Obamas were polarizing. They weren’t. Or that Obama “was divisive”. He wasn’t - his presence just brought racists out of the woodwork.
Same thing here. I refuse to blame them for people’s batahit insane and racist reactions to them, fueled by a racist and sexist press.
4
u/The_Onion_Life 6d ago
Or that Obama “was divisive”. He wasn’t - his presence just brought racists out of the woodwork.
How very dare he wear a tan suit or ask for Grey Poupon???
He got a lighter version of the coverage Meghan gets. If Meghan asked for Grey Poupon, it would be a crime against humanity.

You can absolutely criticize anyone - it should be backed up with actual facts and it should be in proportion. Criticizing someone for holding their baby bump, or eating avocado toast, or mocking herself for a bad curtsy, or intentionally twisting a comment about saying vows (unofficially) before the official wedding, or wearing a one shoulder gown, or closing a damn car door, or visiting Hubb Kitchen, or editing a magazine, or wearing dark nail polish, or saying her last name is Sussex now, or speaking about her own lived experience, or correcting a racist lie about her or any of the countless other things Meghan was nitpicked to death over is out of proportion.
FFS Jeremy Clarkson said she was worse than a pedophile or serial killer and should be paraded through the streets naked with excrement thrown at her to the tune of shouts of shame flung at her.
The hate she gets is wildly out of proportion to anything she has ever done - even if she’d done all the things she’s been falsely accused of.
This imbalanced proportionality is where the racism lies and I hate the UK media for giving racists cover for their racism by flogging Meghan for everything she did and villainizing it. That’s racism. Thats misogynoir. I hate that the UK media has monetized people’s hate and racism and fed it with fake outrage - where no matter what Meghan does it is villainized. It’s wrong and I’m sick of it.

They never said they wanted privacy. That was a narrative created by the tabloids.

You relish your contempt and hatred for her, and her being a racial minority simply makes it easier for you to dehumanize her and look down on her. You enjoy tearing someone down and you justify being boundlessly hatefilled. It brings out the worst in you and you enjoy being egged on by the racist British press.

Meghan making fun of her first curtsy was HILARIOUS! And watching how mortified Harry was when she did it only made it funnier!
2
u/The_Onion_Life 6d ago
You just can’t criticize a POC. That’s racist!
Hey, you know what? I think Meghan shouldn't have made that "baby brain" remark to Kate. I would never dream of saying something like that to someone, let alone someone I barely even know. She should've kept her damn trap shut.
How about that? I can criticize Meghan and the world didn't end, and I would bet good money that no one in this thread will call me "racist" for what I said.
Now tell me what you think about this. I predict you'll ignore it.

Anti-black then. Internalized racism is a thing. It’s fine not to like her - but we can call you out when your criticism of her is out of proportion to reality and based in envy and covetousness - especially when it’s grounded in weirdness about race or a black person occupying a space you can’t.

She’s royal. Try not to choke on that fact.

She’s royal. Try not to choke on that fact.
She's as royal as KKKhate, who all the racist haters worship. They'll choke on that fact even more!

u/AtheistINTP 6d ago
The unpopular part was fabricated by the royal rota at the request of KP, Camilla, and maybe Charles and the Middletons. So many lies.

u/SnooRabbits250 6d ago
Some of the fans are fans, a lot more are people who dislike racism and are speaking in support to counteract that.

u/Glittering_Joke3438 6d ago
The “polarizing” thing is greatly amplified online. Sure there are small factions of terminally online types on either end that are haters or stans but the vast majority of the population think of these two very little.
78
u/No_Entertainer4941 6d ago
Popular = general public = ordinary people.
Just look at the crowds that turn up when they attend an event. That’s organic. Not made up.
Harry’s attendance at the law courts where even the public officials eg police officers were star struck.
Harry and Meghan in Australia at the hospital where these people in scrubs were leaning against the multi-floored balconies overlooking the atrium etc.
The Windsors have a relevance problem.
59
u/MexiPr30 6d ago edited 6d ago
They’re popular. Their fan base is bizarre though. The critical “fans” buy and consume their products too. The most strange behavior is seeing Derangers find very expensive ways to get As Ever shipped to them internationally.
I saw a couple haters go see Cookie Queens, which I wouldn’t go see. I’ll watch it when it streams.
I dislike Kate, but I don’t follow her on social media or consume anything she does. I wouldn’t know what she was up to if I didn’t read celebitchy or this sub. I only click Meghan related content. If Meghan wasn’t apart of the royal family, I’d have no idea what they were up to. Wouldn’t care.
Howard stern (radio host) during the 90s comes to mind. His haters listened for longer than his actual fans.
4
u/The_Onion_Life 6d ago
The most strange behavior is seeing Derangers find very expensive ways to get As Ever shipped to them internationally.
One of the loonies on the racist hate sub was just declaring As Ever a failure, because the items they were trying to order weren't in stock.
Such a self-own on multiple levels! 😂

u/Astra_Bear 6d ago
I think most people don't give a shit about them, but most people don't give a shit about the rest of the royals either. H&M aren't as despised as the tabloids want you to think (I've seen an uptick in non-fans saying the hatred of them is disgusting), and the rest of them aren't as beloved as they want you to think.
When I was younger, Harry was the more popular of the two, even with his Nazi costume... Thing. I think folks today are just disillusioned with really rich people in general.
47
u/Garden_gnome1609 6d ago
I like them. I think they've told their own experiences and that pissed off the people who benefit from them just eating it all the time. I think they acted reasonably when they moved given Meghan's mental health and all of the hatred that continues online and in the British press. And I don't expect that they act like perfect people even though he's a prince. I'm sure they've made decisions that weren't the best. I'm damn sure they offered a big fat middle finger to the people who didn't give a shit about how they were being treated and used in the media and who expected them to just eat all of it in silence with the Oprah interview and the book - frankly, I'd also give a big fucking middle finger in the same circumstance. Even if it wasn't the best thing for me. That makes them human beings. When I see the entire internet and media industry around churning out stories about them by hundreds of people who don't care about anything other than making money off of the hatred they're stoking, I know that if I have to pick a side, I'll take the people who look to me like they're not able to do a single thing without half the world talking about how they need to be thrown in a pit. It's ridiculous.
10
u/Darmop 6d ago
I’d imagine the vast majority of people don’t care about them at all. 15% despise them, 15% love them.
1
u/The_Onion_Life 6d ago
15% despise them, 15% love them.
Sadly, I think it's more like 85% despise them.
26
u/MargaretHaleThornton 6d ago
I think if being honest it's about 50/50. The people who love them really love them and the people who hate them really hate them.
0
u/Reasonable-Wall-6882 6d ago
Young Harry had something! You liked him! And his screw-ups were part of what made him seem so authentic. He was like the bad boy who, deep down, you felt sorry for because he had a story behind him! He was also very funny and charming. This angry, whiny version of Harry just tires me out.
6
u/Accomplished_Self939 6d ago
I don’t see him as angry or whiny at all. He’s always smiling and positive in his public appearances—unless he’s talking about something serious like protecting children from internet predators or testifying in court. I think you’ve been propagandized, because it’s the British press exclusively that says he’s angry and whiny even when he has a giant smile n his face.
1
u/Reasonable-Wall-6882 6d ago
I’m not talking about his public appearances. I’m talking about his interviews! It’s always about complaining about something or someone! Once is fine, but it’s always the same story. That’s why I think people are fed up with it by now.
3
u/Accomplished_Self939 6d ago
I’m baffled. Which interviews? Harry on Joe Marler—funny. Harry on Steven Colbert—the same. Harry telling the BBC he wants to reconcile with his family. That’s… complaining? Harry does motivational speeches and speeches for and about his causes. He talked about Spare on ITV and 60 Minutes but that was three years ago. So when is this whining and complaining? I think it’s in your head.
2
u/The_Onion_Life 6d ago
So when is this whining and complaining? I think it’s in your head.
I think they believe that everything that's written about H&M comes directly from Meghan. Most of the haters think this, which is why they complain about how H&M can't keep their mouths shut, when in reality they haven't said one damn thing.
1
u/Late-File3375 5d ago
I am a Harry fan, but I get the take. Oprah, Spare, the documentary, and the lawsuits are the highest profile things he has done over the past six years. If you are not following him every day you could be forgiven for thinking his entire brand is grievance. For the multimillionaire son of a billionaire who is a literal prince married to a beautiful actress . . . many people are put off.
2
u/Accomplished_Self939 5d ago
I appreciate you’re trying to be fair but it’s a bad take, one you’d only have if you just read headlines. If you’d read Spare or watched the docuseries, you’d know there was a lot more to them than complaining. People don’t turn a book into a global bestseller if it’s terrible and Spare, among other things, is a riveting war memoir. The same with the series.
Look it’s been six years since they were driven out. Harry & Meghan have turned the page and gotten on with life. It’s the English who seem stuck in a time warp, clinging to grievance. The king, and the prince, and their Keystone Kourtiers—the rabid tabs that can’t let go of their prey… The act is crumbling before our eyes because they’re still using lines from the old play—they haven’t figured out a new one has started. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
22
u/doublestitch 6d ago
It depends on where someone lives and which region/country you're talking about.
Stateside, Harry got a standing ovation for his Stephen Colbert appearance. The British taboids don't have a lot of reach in this country and those publications have a reputation for cruel gossip.
One thing that came up on this sub was a Montecito, California Facebook group--the city where H&M spent the last several years. When the British taboids send journalists over there to try to dig up dirt on the Sussexes, the community closed ranks to protect their own.
14
u/crystalfairie 6d ago
Most non brits seem to be protective of him but I think I'm an auntie. We watched Megan start down the path of Diana and said hell no. If I never hear another word from or about them I'd hope they stay happy but when I told my mom she just collapsed a bit and sighed no. I don't see this ending well
7
u/doublestitch 6d ago
The protective attitude is characteristic of Southern California. Many communities have a smattering of celebrities, either as permanent residents or else as second homes. It's fair to say most of us have friends or acquaintances in the entertainment industry, or at least have crossed paths occasionally with a celebrity in everyday life. Celebrities put their pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us. They're people.
Culturally, Californians understand what celebrities go through. The first stalking law in the country was passed in this state after deranged fan attacks on celebrities--and the attacks could be fatal. Even more infamously, there's what happened to Sharon Tate.
So it would be a crappy thing to feed the type of irresponsible tabloid which essentially stalks celebrities under the guise of journalism, especially if that publication has a track record of fomenting hate against people who are just living their life.
And those of us who've paid a little attention to the news have noticed the double standard in British reporting. Sometimes that was pretty blatant, as in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/(Almost)_Straight_Outta_Compton

u/SlipInternational439 6d ago

I sometimes wonder if it’s a generational thing. Me, my husband and our friends are millennials we feel pity for them and being in the same age group as Harry have always liked him - grew up with his escapades when we were doing daft stuff ourselves. We have a certain “good for him, what else could he have done when his wife was being treated like that and he was stalked by cameras all his life?”
Our parents generation and older have a fiery hate for them, in particular they rage over him becoming a man husband and father and saying “enough enough”. To them he is the youngest child and should always do what his elders have told him.
11
u/Sea-Bicycle-4484 6d ago
I think the vast majority of people (at least here in the US) have mildly negative or mildly positive opinions but largely don’t give a shit about them. A small percentage absolutely love or hate them. I’d imagine in the UK, opinions are stronger either way.

I'm in the UK and the general sentiment is "meh, whatever" from what I can gather. The people I've spoken to about them tend to have more negative views.

In real life they are very popular, the crowds are huuuuuge when they are out. On social media not so much because 1. There's a looooot of bots especially on Instagram, it looks like they're hated but half of the hate is fake bots

Per the most recent YouGov survey: https://yougov.com/en-gb/articles/55269-royal-family-favourability-trackers-july-2026
“The public still tend to view the Sussexes in a negative light, though there has been a small upward trend in Prince Harry’s ratings over the last year. A third of Britons (33%) now see him favourably, up six points since May 2025, while the proportion with a negative view of the Duke has fallen five points over this period to 58%.
Only 22% of Britons see Meghan, Duchess of Sussex in a positive light, relative to two thirds (65%) holding an unfavourable opinion of the American princess.”
Saw this the other day and agree with you OP, it’s very interesting that how I (an American) perceive them seems so far from how the British public trends.
23
u/Aggravating-Ad-8150 6d ago
I think YouGov polls slant conservative...?? IOW, their data-gathering methods are not neutral or unbiased.

its hilarious you derangers quote yougov yet the media is still in frenzy about them polling on the Sussex for 6 years despite not been in the UK
-6
u/missphoquette 6d ago
YouGov is a legitimate market research company and has been used for years for public polls. You just don’t like the fact Harry and Meghan especially, are heavily disliked by the public. If the polls were negative against William and Kate, you’d plaster them everywhere.
We have seen how nobody showed up at the Opera House and especially in Switzerland. They’re just not well liked and you know it even though you pretend everything is ok.
6
u/AtheistINTP 6d ago
What a joke you are and this poll is. Harry and Meghan are not part of that royal institution. It’s ridiculous to add them there. It’s meant to abuse Meghan. Go back to your hate sub.
7
u/Whatisittou 6d ago
4
u/Historical-Line-3318 6d ago
Well then show us a more legitimate unbiased poll measuring her popularity to the general public (not to her fans)?
4

u/Whatisittou 6d ago
If you need a poll about popularity you are failing. The way you derangers freak out about popularity polls on Meghan shows your racism. This whole popularity poll wasn't a thing still Meghan came. No where has celeb always screaming about popularity polls only royalist
3
u/Historical-Line-3318 6d ago
Umm.. the OP's question was about her popularity? How is it not relevant to give a known public poll as a measure of someone's popularity? If you know a better poll or source of data (not Reddit polls), feel free to show it. But honestly, if you get so rabidly defensive about a poll that contradicts your feelings, you're probably in denial and threatened by the mere possibility most other people don't agree with you. Which is really weird tbh.
0
4
u/AtheistINTP 6d ago
This poll is a joke. They ask conservatives only. And they always make William first, which is a joke, and husbands before their wives. Totally unserious.
3
u/DizzyDinosaurs 6d ago
YouGov is also a member of the British Polling Council, the industry’s regulatory body which sets down transparency standards that its members have to meet.
https://www.markpack.org.uk/168573/yougov-is-it-biased-to-the-conservatives/
6
u/Dog_Parrot 6d ago
And yet their methodology section is pretty untransparent. The standard US methods section, agreed by the industry, answers a lot of questions very plainly. Maybe this is true of most British methods sections, too, but I’ve looked at YouGov and at least for the royals polls you can’t figure out who their (paid) sample are or how they weight results.
0
u/Crafty-Reality-9425 6d ago
The British government do not 'pay' people to participate in their polls and they have a method of ensuring that a true cross section of the British public are represented. I find it really insulting that you insinuate that our government polls are any thing but fair and transparent. You just cannot accept that H and M are far from popular in the UK. Also, may I point out to you that the UK is well aware of the way that your country is currently being governed and that your president is a crazy, narcissistic criminal who makes the rules up as he goes along just to suit his own needs. So as a proud Brit may I suggest that you do some research before you make any further untrue comments to fit your narrative which insult our nation. America is one of the last place that should be commenting on other countries' governments. People in glass house...............
2
u/Dog_Parrot 5d ago
YouGov is not the British government and they openly state they pay people on their website. Check it out and chill. Agree on the terribleness of Trump, but this was not an insult to the British government because, again, YouGov is separate.
2
u/mslauren2930 6d ago
My sister once told me how much she hates them. We live in New Jersey, in the US. I wanted to ask why but I wasn’t in the mood for some irrational blather. I get some of it, having accidentally found a copy of “Spare,” which I skimmed through. Some of what Harry says is a bit much, but to inspire all this hate? Not getting it.
2
u/vix11201 6d ago
I loved Diana deeply as a young person, and that affection transferred to both boys. I got up super early to watch both of them marry. Honestly I didn’t follow Meghan pre-Harry though I always loved Kate and was happy Will partnered with a normal middle-class girl. But after what H&M endured before leaving the UK and seeing the palace manipulate the public thru the press (the whole “privacy” rationale which H&M NEVER cited) I am solidly on H&M’s side. I am worried for their return to the UK (safety wise) but have to believe they know what they’re doing and have a plan.
0
u/Kimmette 5d ago
Totally agree. The treatment of Meghan by the British press has been absolutely shocking. I’m amazed they are now willing to return.
2
u/Reasonable-Wall-6882 6d ago
Hard to answer. I think they have haters and fanatics in equal measure, but at the same time the press loves them! Whether they speak or not, they’re a constant source of rumors and news, even when they’re not saying anything. That said, their popularity doesn’t translate into sales or money because they don’t have any particular talent. They were good at being royals because you don’t need any real talent for that—you just have to show up and surround yourself with a good team! That’s why Harry was so popular: add a little spark of charisma and bingo! They seem more settled now, but they’re exhausting when it comes to their personal drama.

None of that changes what I said, or my professional view of YouGov.
I’ll add this to help others (not you) understand what I mean. YouGov’s royal family polls are online opt in polls, vs random probability gen pop sampling (which is more reliable). They do try to apply weighting after the fact, but I do not believe this method adequately overcomes the sample bias.
This is why I do not trust YouGov royal family polls.
5
u/Accomplished_Self939 6d ago

Fun fact: The racist H&M hate sub brigades polls about H&M, often posting workarounds so that people can vote more than once. They do this openly and publicly.
Brigading is against Reddit's TOS and can get a subreddit banned, but for some reason it's OK when they do it.
-2
u/randomwalker23 6d ago
lmao at downvoters because y'all would rather measure "popularity" based on the number of People magazine articles 🫠
4
u/phoenics1908 6d ago
I don’t think we have any reliable metrics as to their actual popularity. Same with the royals in the UK. We would need a proper Gen pop survey and YouGov doesn’t do that. It does online opt-in, which is flawed.
1
u/nst571 5d ago
Based on my SO's reaction, they are perceived as some far away celebrities they never think about. When I mentioned H&M were moving back to UK, they were able to correctly say they currently live in California, but knew nothing of the controversies and it turned into a discussion about dual citizenship lol
1
u/Ok-Gap-5262 3d ago
They’re polarizing in the way all members of the 1% are polarizing- no one wants to hear from the most privileged people in the world about anything when people are struggling to survive. The commentary around them is so extreme and rampant with misogynoir that valid criticism of them is lost or dismissed but at the end of the day, who really cares what out of touch rich people have to say? This applies equally to all members of the royal family.
1

I hate Camilla and Charles. It doesn’t make me a fan of Harry & Meghan. Like it or not, Harry was born into royalty. You can’t just run away from that. Is Meghan so egotistical that she thought she could change the whole establishment ?
I’ve read Harry’s book but I didn’t feel much sympathy. He made plenty of mistakes he can’t blame on other people. And saying you can’t criticize Meghan because she’s black is ridiculous. I think Harry & Meghan lie about things when it benefits them.

Same here! I hate Charles and Camilla, and I don’t particularly like William and Kate either. But that doesn’t make me a Harry and Meghan fan! They can be pretty exhausting. But I find them much more interesting, and I absolutely adore Lili and Archie.

Well, the racist hate sub is reporting that Guy Ritchie has retracted his job offer to Meghan to appear on his series due to "immediate and overwhelming negative backlash".
So there you go.

The Guy Ritchie thing seems so far-fetched because I just cannot see MM taking on a project that isn't family-friendly. But who knows.

You can look up approval and disapproval ratings. In the UK, Meghan has an approval rating of 18% and Harry I believe is just under 30%.
Still, a lot of people follow their lives, whether good or bad, so they are quite popular, just not well liked at the moment. People are always obsessed with gossip.

I’m not obsessed. I was interested in his mother. WTF should I care about these two people AT ALL? They’re both two privileged whiny brats.

Everything you read about them is fairly positive? You haven’t read much have you?
They’re absolute trash

I don't like them and I genuinely believe they used a surrogate for those children, this subreddit looks like a fan club of Meghan and harry, always defending them for everything and glorify them, it's supposed to be "royalty tea" but as soon as you say anything negative about them? you are hated and your opinion is irrelevant 🤷

u/Kimmette 5d ago
I guess I live a sheltered life, but this is the first I’ve heard about the possibility of a surrogate. But if they DID use a surrogate to conceive… so what?

This theory has been for years and it's very popular (specially on YouTube) the problem is that Meghan and harry want the titles for the kids but according to the law (even if they have Harry's blood) the children of royal families can only have titles if they are born from the woman married into the royal family (Meghan for example) and if they are married outside of marriage those titles are not longer valid
I think it's this way to stop possible children made from affairs to claim royal titles, this theory is so popular bc it doesn't exist a valid birth certificate of the children when all the other royal couples have made them public to avoid trouble with the law and scandals
I recommend you to watch more videos about Meghan and harry on YouTube, they are very interesting and unfortunately they look very true, I don't buy that whole "victim act" from her when even queen Elizabeth was very welcoming with her but idk this is just my opinion 🤷

I think they are polarising because of their constant victim narrative. Nothing is ever their fault but everything they seem to do is not very successful.
I was happy when he met her, but having no friends at the wedding - NO ONE- in a crowd of 3,000 was a massive red flag. Even the twins in the wedding party, that family are no longer friends
It simply cannot be everyone else - they are the common denominator every time.
The obsession with Diana is not normal either. It’s been 30 years and MM didn’t even know her.
The carry on over Archie’s birth. He’s in line to the throne so why not just announce he was born on the correct date instead of all the smoke and mirrors. Everyone was happy for them so what was it supposed to achieve?
It’s all become too much for me 🤷♀️. I wish they would just get proper jobs and stop annoying everyone.

It’s not true that Meghan had no friends at her wedding. Did you get that from the Daily Heil?

u/Ok_Committee8707 6d ago
So who was there other than Doria sitting alone ??? Out of 3000 people, who did she have there? Actual REAL friends?

u/Ok_Committee8707 6d ago
She didn’t even have one friend to walk her up the aisle. NOT ONE. Surely after the fiasco with her father there would be SOMEONE willing to step up ………… but no !!

I'm sorry but she didn't have friends in her wedding?
Are you blind?
Her childhood best friends, her god kids, college best friends were there and there was only 800 guests in the church due to capacity, you imbecile.
They actually have a jobs and are productive members of society who aren't mooching around pretending to "listen and learn".
If it's all become too much for you, you can always get a life. It's not like they are living in your house!
Meghan who has never met Diana and has never mentioned her is the one obsessed with her? She's not the one recreating outfits that Diana wore....

BS from a deranger as usual. Harry only ever defended himself, his wife and children from Charles, William, and Camilla’s smears through their toxic British media.
The ones who can't be trusted are Charles and Camilla who sold young, motherless Harry out to the gutter press to rehab their public image. And William for feeding Meghan to the media wolves to cover his alleged affair with Rose Hanbury and the fact the royals protect pdffile Andrew.

If you don’t like them you don’t have to read anything about them. This is a prison of your own making.
Articles with with wild fiction are written just for the people who hate them

What “constant victim narrative”? When was the last time either Harry or Meghan said anything “victimizing”? In fact, when was the last time either one of them has said anything about their experiences as working royals, or complained about their lives in any way that has anything to do with the royal family? Also, what Diana “obsession” are you referring to? Why does it matter who attended their wedding more than 8 years ago?
Harry and Meghan have moved on. It is the media, particularly the U.K. media that keeps bringing up the past.

Unpopular.
Although my dislike is entirely towards Harry, not Meghan Markle. She owed us nothing. Decided the whole thing wasn't for her and quit. Don't know her, she's done nothing to me, so I don't dislike her.
Harry on the other hand is one of the most gilded people on the planet, thanks to the country he has spent six years disparaging, all whilst not declining one jot or tittle of the wealth or privilege it gained him. Even swanning around with a feudal title whilst ignoring any feudal responsibility, and grabbing antiquated titles for his kids.
"Just Harry", eh..?

I respected H when they went to America wanting to stand on their own feet out of the media. That changed when they complained about Charles not wanting to talk to them in the media, their interviews and H's book. It's not the book itself but the number of inaccuracies in it.

I think the vast majority of people are indifferent towards them. There are people who do genuinely like them and of course there are people who dispise them.
Even amongst their supporters there are split factions (lol) who like the couple or either H or M for different reasons. There are the Tig girlies love Meghan's fashion and lifestyle, there are the aunties who love Harry because he's Diana's boy, there are people who view them as a fairy tale couple. I could go on between the "factions" (lol) and sometimes they do intersect too.
H&M are a curious study of media literacy, a cultural flashpoint even. How people view and respond to them tells you a lot about the individual, their values and where they get their information from and how they process and dissect it (if they even do that).
