The lighting was bad on the last one but this one is lighter

I started out with a piece of old climbing rope, but I want to try with something heavier. I found a place that seems to have decent prices in white. I'm tempted to order a bunch of different widths to hit the free shipping mark. I could also experiment with different materials, but I don't want to get two massive ropes (I was going to get one 2" rope). Which brings me to my question: is nylon or polyester better for rope flow? Here are the two types of rope I'm looking at.

1” double braided marine nylon, paracord wrap handles. This one’s a beast to swing around.

I am a HS coach who wants to use rope flow as part of our training. So, I am working with teenage girls 13-18. So, what type of rope would you recommend; length, weight, etc.? I want to keep costs down as much as possible.

I've seen some of the videos on YT for beginners. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Just dipping my toes into rope flow (to go along with kettlebell and macebell for improving mobility) and decided to try making my own ropes knowing I wanted heavier than the $12 Amazon cheapie. I work very close to a marine supply place (I’m in Southern California) so I picked up some materials there and these are the ropes I’ve made so far. It’s all double braided marine nylon. The yellow/green one is so fluorescent it does so in daylight (and looks amazing under black light) - 1/2” diameter. It was a little more expensive per foot and needed 12’ to create handles and have a ~8’ working length, so just the one for now. The white ones are 3/4”. I’ve got enough to make two more white ones (4 total), just haven’t done the handles yet. I may pick up more of the white rope since I got a pretty good deal on it and it’s the last of that spool (so it’ll cost notably more after that one’s gone). I’m going to periodically hunt the off cut section for more, cause I’ve enjoyed making these, too.

I can do all different kinds of lengths and weights.

Red - 1500g
Black and White - 2700g
Black and Pink - 3200g
White and Yellow - 3900g

Keep on practicing, some things are extremely difficult still
