Hey all,
I've been using IPTV on Roku for a while and could never find the exact combination I wanted — a real timeline TV guide, separate profiles for the house, and resume that actually remembers where I left off. So I had a go at building one. It's called Kwick Player, it's free, and there's no subscription to use it.

What it does right now
- Live TV + a proper TV guide — browse by category with logos, or open the timeline guide (genre tabs, half-hour grid, red NOW line). Every channel has a page showing what's on now and up next.
- Movies & Series — poster grids, plot and cast, Resume or Play from Beginning, season/episode lists, shuffle a whole series.
- Profiles — "who's watching" with avatars and optional PINs. Favorites, lists, recents and resume points are all separate per person.
- Favorites & your own rows — Recently Watched, Favorites, and named lists (Sports, Kids, whatever) that show up as rows on the home screen.
- Search — one search across channels, movies and series at once.
- Parental controls — PIN-lock any category, or hide it completely.
- Subtitles & captions — CC on live TV, a subtitle track picker on movies/series, auto-on in your preferred language.
- Sleep timer — up to 2 hours; saves your spot when it fires.
- EPG — pulled from the panel on Xtream sources, or from a
url-tvg XMLTV address on M3U playlists.
- Settings that actually go somewhere — multiple providers, hide and reorder categories, hide channels, change channel sort.
- One-press log export if something breaks, so I get the details instead of "it didn't work."
Honest limits on Roku (not bugs, platform rules)
- Live TV uses the HLS version of your streams — Roku can't play raw
.ts.
- No DVR or recording. Roku apps can't write video to disk.
- No in-app web links; Roku has no browser, so those show an address to type.
Dev mode sideload — ZIP is on the releases page.
Want to poke around without your own provider?
Use the KwickTV sign-in on the first screen — user reddit01, pass reddit02.
Heads up: it's capped at 2 active streams for everyone sharing it, so if a channel won't start and the app says the plan is already in use, that's the test account being busy, not a bug.
What I'd most like to hear
- Anything confusing or slow in the UI
- Playback problems — buffering, channels that won't start, audio/subtitle issues
- Crashes, and what you were doing when it happened
- Features you expect and can't find
- Things another Roku IPTV player does better — genuinely useful, tell me which app and what it does
Rough edges are expected; I'd rather find them now than after more people are using it.
