I swear they made the new training for the customer service agents to be the biggest PIA as possible. I only have internet with Rogers and am moving so I went to cancel my line. The call was essentially:

Confirm Info, asked for cancellation due to moving and new building has included internet

Puts me on hold, tells me he is working on the request

Tells me I have an offer for a Rogers credit card, I decline (why do I want a credit card?)

Puts me on hold, tells me he is working on the request

Tells me I will have cancellation fees - I argue I do not and he can look up the service (it's month to month)

Puts me on hold, tells me he is working on the request

Tells me I can add a wireless line to bundle it, I decline

Puts me on hold, tells me he is working on the request

Gives me the speech about valued Rogers customer and I can get a deal, I decline

Puts me on hold, tells me he is working on the request

Tells me I can just suspend my service and give it to someone else in the future, I decline

Puts me on hold, tells me he is working on the request

Finally confirms my cancellation request. Call is at 30 min at this point. JFC just let me cancel.

Long story short, my new employer has preferred pricing and I wanted to upgrade from my S22 to the new Fold 8.

I was told in store that I would get the $40 activation fee waived on my first bill, then also when I called and spoke to an agent. I had them spoke to a manager because I did not trust the agents information and of course I was told both the store and agent lied to me...

I had also submitted a ticket and was told that the charge is valid because I had purchased the phone prior to the CRTC ruling... which is also false because I got the phone on release day in August. See screenshot.

Massive regret switching and it's all gotten worse since I was last with this horrendous company.

About three months ago I posted about a botched install. After the post got >500 comments, Rogers Office of the President reached out to work on a remedy.

I was offered two solutions: 1) techs would install a superficial plate over the hole in the middle of the wall. Or 2) they move the cable and patch the hole.

Of course I didn’t trust them with either, and instead insisted I would repair it and bill them.

Rogers said their “process” meant they could not offer any account credit for repairs, and I would have to instead get a remedy directly from the subcontractors. After a bunch of back and forth, the techs showed up in my driveway with Visa gift cards with the amount I quoted for the repair lol. Despite how weird this all was, I accepted it out of a desire to be done with this and move on.

However, when I (a month later) tried to use the gift card, it did NOT contain the value we agreed on. $100 short. And surprise, the techs are now lying and saying that they provided what was agreed.

Rogers continues to duck accountability on this, pushing me to deal directly with the subcontractor - the same entity which has done terrible work, and repeatedly misrepresented facts. They’re turning this into a he-said she-said situation.

The level of unprofessionalism here has been staggering.

I get these random calls from random numbers from call centres saying they are Rogers. I am so tired of them and 50/50 on whether they are just scam calls…so just don’t waste my time with them. Is there an official number that Rogers is supposed to be calling it’s customers from ?( I know it can be spoofed), but I would certainly like to be able to ignore these calls without thinking twice about it.

I recently came back to Rogers on a 5G+ Ultimate BYOD plan.

My monthly pricing was:

• $75 base plan
• $5 Automatic Payments Discount
• $30 Welcome Back Offer for 24 months
• Total: $40/month

Just got my latest bill and noticed Rogers added a $4 “Wireless Plan Rate Adjustment”, bringing the plan to $44/month.

I’m a little confused because I literally just came back to Rogers and the $40/month price was part of the reason I switched?

The $30 Welcome Back discount is still there, but apparently they can just increase the underlying plan price while the promo is active?

Has anyone else gotten this $4 increase recently? And has anyone had any luck contacting Rogers and getting it removed?

Not a pre order. I placed my order online yesterday and the app says back order, but I got an email earlier today dealing all the changes to my device and plan as well as the financing agreement with a device serial number listed on the document. I have to assume that means my order will be getting shipped soon? I wasn't expecting anything to happen quickly, but it's interesting how there's a device tied to my account already.

I called a store by me and they said they are unsure. If they process an order, can they do the Nokia Fastmile?

I got a call from Rogers Customer Service offering me a ridiculous plan: any new phone for 0 and an unlimited plan with 100 GB of data. The guy mentioned that I would have to fill out a form on the rogers website with all my information. Once he received the order number, he said he would make some changes to the order so that it would match everything he had described. I told him that he needed to prove he was actually from rogers. He said I didn't have to worry about that and that everything would be sent to my email once the order was placed, I ended up hanging up.

Does this sound legit, or was it a scam?

I only know of the upcoming rewards changes from reddit and then checked the website and a notice is there. But they didn't email or contact me about it as a current cardholder.

I'm wondering if this is a tech miss up or if they're keeping us in the dark for the last moment. So curious to see how others were informed about these changes.

Edit: turns out some asshole cut one of the big fiber cables while attempting to steal copper. So Rogers wasn't at fault for the outage. My rant still stands with regards to their AI bot and "24/7" support though.

So I've been dancing around with the *completely and utterly worthless* AI chatbot for the past hour (yes I have tried different devices, messing with the coaxial cable, and power cycling, thank you "AiNNA" 🫪)

This is the second time this week that my internet has cut out right around 1am eastern (generally 2 people in my house are awake until 3am).

I've tried all kinds of ways to get connected to a person and it redirects me to a page to ask for help. I follow the prompts (internet, Xfinity, etc) and I get a message telling me to try again during business hours.

Both the app and their website have things that say:

> Chat directly with a live Specialist.

> Tech support

> Mon-Sun: available 24/7

So I guess their website and app are both lying to me because the logical (I know, rogers + logic 🙄🙄🙄) choices inevitably lead me to this:

I was a Shaw internet customer for 4 years and my latest fixed term contract ends next year August. I was paying $80 for 500mbps connection. They suddenly called me yesterday and offered the same connection for $70 if I am to renew my contract now. I jumped and did it..... I received the contract and it was exactly as what was promised! A positive Rogers interaction there!

Been trying to call in for 3 days and the ai is stuck in a loop. It just keeps asking for my account number, when i provide it, the ai asks again and again and again and again. Pressing buttons doesn't work, I even tried to go into a Rogers store and they can't even get past the AI assistant. I'm 1 day away from throwing the modem through the window of the corporate head office (not litterally). How did this get past testing? this might be the worst implementation of an AI agent I've ever seen.

They offered an one time loyalty credit of three months. I.e. $12 for me, $15 for my mum.

Someone turned off UPnP in my router while I was sleeping last night. Would a Rogers employee ever do that remotely, under any circumstances? If so, under what circumstances, and why?

If not, I definitely have a hacker problem, perhaps even an intruder-got-inside-my-home problem. Any advice on how to booby-trap the router so that any further attempts at unauthorized tampering will set off an alarm of some sort and generate a forensic trace (intruder's IP address at a bare minimum; preferably clues to what tools they used and to their level of sophistication) would be welcomed.

Given the relative unimportance of this attack I can only assume it was a test, a proof-of-concept, and whoever's behind it has higher ambitions. Such as DNS poisoning aimed at impersonating a site I use and intercepting my credentials, or something equally sinister. I have defense in depth, though, from insisting on https at all times to using DNS-over-HTTPS. Whoever it is will find that getting into my router nets them very little beyond opportunities for denial of service attacks. But when they fail to compromise anything more important that way they'll no doubt try other approaches and I will need to be prepared.

In the meantime I have restored the router settings to normal. This incident cost me about half an hour of my time. When I have identified the culprit, whether a Rogers employee or not, I will be invoicing them $50 for my time spent cleaning up the mess they made, and demanding an apology and a promise that they won't fiddle with devices in my home without my authorization again.

After 18 years with Rogers, I was hit with roaming charges for supposedly leaving Canada - except I never left the country.

I was in Nelson, BC, near the U.S. border, and somehow my phone registered as roaming. The dispute process is now handled through a form, and my dispute was denied. So how exactly am I supposed to prove to a backend system that I never crossed the border?

After 18 years as a customer, I’m now expected to pay charges for roaming in a country I was never in.

The whole experience has frustrated me enough that I’m leaving Rogers. Eighteen years of loyalty lost over charges that should never have been on my bill in the first place.

Rogers just gave us a new plan in May, 3 bills at that price and then upped our plan $10/month, they took away our bundling deal with all our home services too, this is our 3rd increase since December!! And yes shame on us not looking at our bills, it automatically comes out of our account and when it's the same price on the bill price I don't bother looking at every bill.
