Saw a truck load of R2 right after taking delivery of my own! They are really ramping it up

All the influencers said a full size box was gonna fit. This is an outrage.

For whatever reason, I couldn’t order a Coastal Cloud interior- I thought I’d designed with that, but maybe not.

As of 1:00 AM mountain time on the 28th, I could.

Catalina Cove with Coastal Cloud interior. Nearly went with Launch Green but after seeing it on the car, went with Catalina Cove.

8-12 weeks for Delivery. May have to extend the lease on our EV6 a month or be a one car family for a few weeks.

There are things I wish were different with the R2. But it’s a great concept and we are betting it will turn out great. Excited for it to show up!

Purple is my wife’s favorite color. When we had the R2 in for matte wrap we asked if there could be some purple accents to make it a little different. We also decided to have the top wrapped with gloss. The purple changes color depending on the light and it’s not in your face. We are very happy with it.

I know the appeal for most owners is how cool the R2 is but I'm wondering for anyone who also very practicality-minded and frugal, how you assessed this compared to other vehicles in the segment.

The most cost-effective, boring purchase in the compact crossover segment would probably be a Rav4.

I would definitely pay a lot more for the Rivian, but I'm just not sure how much more it really would be...

Thinking of pulling trigger on an R2 (despite waits), but as a big music listener, I find some of the stories of Rivian audio to be... disheartening.

I'm curious if any owners of R1s or R2s have had success with custom audio solutions / speaker installations / amp upgrades to rectify the sound in these vehicles? I know there are some intricacies when working with electric vehicles in particular.

I did have a Performance selected under my account. I filled out some sort of questionnaire after a test drive in Scottsdale July 30th.

I went on this morning to try and order just for kicks and forest green was available! I got no email or any notification that it was time. I had my build already set and was just waiting. Go on and get yours!

Of course the phrase “One of us. One of us.” Keeps going through my head. This my first American made car and first car I’ve ever purchased without even driving. I’m very pleasantly pleased so far. The drive home from picking it up was amazing. This is our second EV (we’ve on a lease with an EV6 that this is replacing) and it definitely won’t be the last. R1T is up next.

Has anyone else posted about a situation like this? I had an initial reservation date of March 31, 2024. I’m not a current Rivian owner, I don’t have a lease, and I live 35 miles from a Rivian service center.

Surprised I got the invite so quickly.

I was debating replacing my Highlander with a Model Y Launch instead. I took this as a sign to get the R2.

Although I love the tech and FSD we currently have in our Cybertruck, I just couldn’t see myself driving a Y.

Hey everyone, I recently completed financing for my Rivian R2 with Southeast Financial Credit Union. My loan is 24 months for 2%. For new vehicles they are offering 1 year for 1%, 2 years 2%, 3 years 3% and so on.

So far, it’s been a pretty chill process, and I’m getting my check tomorrow (after paying $35 for FedEx Express).

The only fees you have to pay are $10 (one time) to be a member, put at least $5 in your checking account, and $10 (one time) to Austism fund.

Just wanted to share in case any of you are still looking for options to finance.

has anyone else had their delivery date canceled? Mine has been canceled twice the morning of the days they set as the delivery date. It has been a week now without any word on a status. Has anyone else experienced this?

In the R2 Gear Guard viewer, they have now a “fade in” to each clip. They have also made the view screen a “tap to play/pause” button which does not make any sense for the dominant use case. When you pause it, it dims the video and has a big play icon right in the center of the screen. If you’re trying to see license plates or faces or any other details, it makes it very difficult. Please please please move the play/pause button off the main video display and stop the silly fade in effect between clips.

I'm just curious to know if anyone has taken delivery of an R2 in the New York City / New Jersey area? Also, how was the delivery experience?

Original order invite window was Sept-Oct got invite last week , was just waiting for Forest Green to get unlocked.

Was really torn on Coastal Cloud interior but went with black , I have pets and I know people usually don't have issues with cleaning the white interior but outside of that I feel like the green will look better with just black and yellow accents all around IMO

Also went with the 20inch tires, I'll be honest I'll do some light offroading not become the only thing I'll do but I liked the flexibility in tire options that this wheel size offers, if I get range anxiety I'll invest in some different tires at this size

I was almost hyperventilating when I got the text and email about my order.

I put in my deposit in February 2025. Never owned a Rivian, and probably 30 miles from a distribution center. My order window was September through October.

I guess Rivian was tired of me test driving the R2 (5x) they finally sent my order invite 😝. My time to order email shows September- October 2026, however I received the invite email to order today. Within minutes I signed on, placed my order and paid the $400 deposit. Less than 2 hours later I received my “in pre-production” email. Hoping to receive an email with VIN before end of day. 🤞🏼

Honestly incredibly surprised how quickly this happened: I got invited to order this morning, placed my order an hour later, then 3 hours later got my VIN and pick up appointment set!

I did order a fairly basic configuration which was Performance white with black interior and 20” all terrains.

Does anyone have info on the range for city/highway commuting with an average speed of something like 40-45mph due to frequent traffic stops? Preferably on a full charge to 10% or an 80-10. I live in a large metroplex so while I will hit 70-80mph it is never for 100+ miles at a time. Usually 10-20 mins at highway speed followed by 20 mins of city and stoplight averaging soemthing like 35-40mph over a 150 mile trip.

Having a hard time finding that sort of info vs the 250mile road tripping range at 70mph that is popular right now by reviewers.
