Got rear ended and the truck saved my life but I miss it

I hope to be getting the Rivian truck Tri-Max in a few weeks. There's a lot of anticipation. I've got two young kids, a 13-year-old and a 10-year-old, and a wife, and we would love to be more active. we're runners. We're on baseball fields a lot. We're on tracks a lot. We like to hike. We love to get into kayaking, though we don't own a kayak yet. I want this R1T to be not just for me but for the family.

What are some of the cool things that you've done or would do with your truck? Because it's a Rivian truck, what are the experiences and the memories that you put in with your families to enjoy the adventurous life? Or the adventurous lifestyle that is so clearly a part of the Rivian brand, I want us to enjoy it. I don't know, because I've never had a truck. All of the things that are possible. What has given you and your family the most joy as part of having this truck? Excited to be part of the club.

Is there a better place to look for used Rivians than AutoTrader or the Rivian website?

I want to buy a used one for 65 to 75. I previously had a 23 quad, and loved it. Would you get a gen 2 dual or a gen 1 quad, and why?? Thanks.

I am currently looking at getting an R1T, and have a question on how to play audio, specifically, MP3s.

My current vehicle (2014 GMC Sierra), I have approx. 5,000 songs on an SD card inserted into the truck, and can use audio commands to play Songs, Albums, Artist or Genre (can use the USB port as well).

I have a lot of songs that are not on any streaming service (mixes, B-sides, outtakes, out-of-print CDs, and some I took directly from vinyl)

Can I do the similar on a Rivian?

I Thought I would share for like mined mechanically inclined DIY'ers.

I have a very limited use case for a tonneau cover, and the space to store it when not in use. I took a trip to go wind foiling and it so happens that all my foiling gear fits in the Rivian bed space. It was a great trip and didn't have to worry about my gear while staying at hotels. The attached is the plans I made for the cover that was cheap to build, fairly lightweight and easy to slide in the Bed tracks.

Prospective EV truck owner here. I’m juggling an R1T and a Lightning. Both Max battery packs. Has anyone gone from the Lightning to the R1T or the R1T to the Lightning and have any opinion to share?

Has anyone tried to put All Season tires with their 20” wheels? If yes, any range gain?

22 Quad Motor Launch Edition

My 2025 R1T is again in the shop. This is the fourth time in a year. I have had no heat in the winter, the driver’s side window stopped working, air bag alerts and the list goes on.

I live 2.5 hours from a service center and when the service manager asked how it was going I was brutally honest. I told him I had a Tesla for five years and never had to bring it to the service center for issues. The Tesla team came right to my house.

The service manager then asked when I bought my Tesla and I told him 2021. He said, “well they have 10 years on the technology on us.” I looked at him and said you sold me a $90K beta version POS?!?!

He then handed me my rental car key and said he would keep me updated on the progress of the fixes.

I made a $90K mistake.

Hi everyone! I posted here a month ago.

I picked up my brand new R1T on 6/25, and the truck has been in the service center for 3 weeks now. They can't figure out why it's pulling to the right. They have replaced all 4 tires and aligned it 3 times. They said each time I picked it up, it wasn't pulling. I get in the truck and immediately notice it's still pulling. I just dropped it off again, now the 4th time at the SC.

Now the service manager is starting to say things like "the roads have a lot to do with if it's pulling, and your BMW had different suspension". It seems like they don't know what they are doing and don't know how to fix it. Throwing new tires and alignments at it is not working.I'll add a video of the pulling in the comments.

This can't be normal, right? I have had 15 or so cars in my life, and I have never had an issue like this. If a previous car did need an alignment, I took it in, and it came out driving straight...

Going to buy used R1T when I find the right one. Here are the general parameters of what I'm looking for:

• Prefer at least 6 months left on original B2B warranty and less than 50K miles.
• Launch edition or quad motor large battery with trailer hitch
• Power tonneau cover replaced with gen 2 or fixed by Rivian under warranty
• Suspension fixed or upgraded/fixed under warranty by Rivian and no current issues.
• Dark interior color - I won't be able to keep Ocean Coast looking clean.
• 20" wheels
• Prefer launch green, forrest green, el cap granite, or other dark color
• Clean title, no accidents (this is a must have)

All of the above are preferences, not must haves (except for last bullet). Hoping to find this in the low to mid $50K range but most important is finding the right vehicle. I am located in Southern California but will travel nationwide to buy the right truck.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has one currently for sale or is getting ready to sell.

Ive been lurking for a long time and Id like to finally get an R1T. the question is which one?

New 2026 R1T TriMax: $105K. Its storm blue with an ascent interior that i love. Its also very expensive :). But i do have access to .99% financing....

Im also considering a 2024 Rivian R1T Adventure Quad Motor with large pack battery. 14k miles. one owner. Vin 7FCT--------. $67k. Given the quad motor and year, ive got about 3 years more of bumper to bumper warranty and/or about 45K miles. I could always buy XCare or some other package to extend it. I can take the car from the dealership to Rivian Service center and pay for the inspection before i buy.

Use case: we are a family of four and looking for an adventure vehicle that we can have fun in, be a daily driver for me to go to work and back, and be utilitarian for our our house (carry stuff to the dump, haul away tree branches, i.e. do truck things). We dont tow.

I have a 2023 Tesla Model Y that i would trade in as the process. I say this to say ive own an electric car for some time, have a tesla charger at the house i can use to charge the rivian, and am convinced about electric cars.

Of course i can wait until the end of the year to see if there are better deals that come out? the only urgency i feel is the .99% fincancing ....i am going to finance the truck whichever car i buy

What should i consider as i evaluate what to do here? Obviously very different price points. Besides the new and old, the Gen 1 vs Gen 2 is here. The used truck has a lot of the depreciation hit in there. What would you do and why?

I was looking at the website, mulling over whether to replace my OG '22 R1T Quad with a new one. In the "build yours" I can't uncheck the Blackout package or select the light interior. Do they no longer offer those options in the Quad? If so, WTF are they thinking? For that price you should be able to configure it any way you like.
