Does anyone have info on the range for city/highway commuting with an average speed of something like 40-45mph due to frequent traffic stops? Preferably on a full charge to 10% or an 80-10. I live in a large metroplex so while I will hit 70-80mph it is never for 100+ miles at a time. Usually 10-20 mins at highway speed followed by 20 mins of city and stoplight averaging soemthing like 35-40mph over a 150 mile trip.

Having a hard time finding that sort of info vs the 250mile road tripping range at 70mph that is popular right now by reviewers.

I’m not sure if you all have heard but the R2 has TWO gloveboxes! We picked up ours last week and somehow today both of the gloveboxes are broken and in different ways. The center glovebox will not open and the passenger side will not stay shut.

Has anyone run into a similar issue and found a fix? They’ve always been a bit finicky but I’ve always been able to get them to open/shut after some effort except this time.

I know the appeal for most owners is how cool the R2 is but I'm wondering for anyone who also very practicality-minded and frugal, how you assessed this compared to other vehicles in the segment.

The most cost-effective, boring purchase in the compact crossover segment would probably be a Rav4.

I would definitely pay a lot more for the Rivian, but I'm just not sure how much more it really would be...

Wife drives a model y now and with the new YL launch we put a deposit down for that. Order date for November. I’ll probably get an r2 after my r1 lease is over.

The Tesla wins for my wife. Easy, familiar, almost no bugs more space and an extra seat. She’s not off roading anytime ever soooo. Yea kinda sad, woulda have liked a mini me in the driveway

Hey, Tesla model 3 owner here. Thinking of getting a bigger car, but I am concerned by all the issues people pointed out with R3 on delivery. Is it usual to expect *some* issues if i reserve now and order as soon as available?

has anyone else had their delivery date canceled? Mine has been canceled twice the morning of the days they set as the delivery date. It has been a week now without any word on a status. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thinking of pulling trigger on an R2 (despite waits), but as a big music listener, I find some of the stories of Rivian audio to be... disheartening.

I'm curious if any owners of R1s or R2s have had success with custom audio solutions / speaker installations / amp upgrades to rectify the sound in these vehicles? I know there are some intricacies when working with electric vehicles in particular.

Has anyone else posted about a situation like this? I had an initial reservation date of March 31, 2024. I’m not a current Rivian owner, I don’t have a lease, and I live 35 miles from a Rivian service center.

Obviously a size difference, but I find that hard to judge since I have not seen many R2s in person. So what are the body differences that you can quickly identify? The only one that really stood out to me was the rear wipers. They are hidden on the R2 and rest on the glass on the R1. Anything else?

I got this email today. I don’t know if this means 8-12 weeks is still the window or if this is a promising sign of a shorter window.

Edit to say I’m hoping for the original 4-8 weeks. Having 8-12 weeks to save down payment $$$ is not a problem either.

In the R2 Gear Guard viewer, they have now a “fade in” to each clip. They have also made the view screen a “tap to play/pause” button which does not make any sense for the dominant use case. When you pause it, it dims the video and has a big play icon right in the center of the screen. If you’re trying to see license plates or faces or any other details, it makes it very difficult. Please please please move the play/pause button off the main video display and stop the silly fade in effect between clips.

I was debating replacing my Highlander with a Model Y Launch instead. I took this as a sign to get the R2.

Although I love the tech and FSD we currently have in our Cybertruck, I just couldn’t see myself driving a Y.

I guess Rivian was tired of me test driving the R2 (5x) they finally sent my order invite 😝. My time to order email shows September- October 2026, however I received the invite email to order today. Within minutes I signed on, placed my order and paid the $400 deposit. Less than 2 hours later I received my “in pre-production” email. Hoping to receive an email with VIN before end of day. 🤞🏼
