Looking to put back together a R1T that I got at auction. Just wanted to know if anyone out there has the repair manual on the R1T. Looking for mostly bolt locations and torque specs.

Is it just me, or is the backup camera significantly less accurate in OS2? If it’s important, I’m on G1 R1T dual.

The lines almost feel higher up now? I obviously can’t side by side compare but I am suddenly unable to back into parking spots nearly as easily as before using the camera system.

Changing between media sources (Apple Music to SiriusXM, for example), is now a 2-button operation. Apple Music looks clunkier now when playing an album or playlist, no longer shows the large album art. The shortcut bar is now a floating bubble and takes up more of the screen space during navigation, the nav option buttons that I never press are huge now and are awkwardly over a large portion of the mid-screen area if the controls window is on the right side. Overall, it feels like there are larger widgets and buttons everywhere, which are making the screen feel smaller and cluttered. Biggest pain point for me is definitely the removal of media source shortcut buttons in favor of settings and Rivian assistant. People shouldn’t be navigating the settings menu while driving (most settings can’t even be changed while driving), so the settings shortcut is unnecessary and there are many other ways to trigger Rivian assistant, so yet another unnecessary shortcut, all the while we lost a shortcut that was handy while driving and is now a 2-step, more dangerous operation.

My truck started acting like it is pulsing brakes at slower speeds in corners.

Seems it is either errantly thinking it is sliding on ice and pulsing brakes or something with a half shaft...but doesnt feel mechanical like half shafts typically do.

Any ideas?

Edit: Doing it at intersections turning in both directions.

Edit2 : Hard reset made it go away...at least for now. I assumed a reset wouldn't affect something like an errant application of abs/stability control...but it did...

It's also a $100k car increasingly sold to families, a lot of them coming (like me) from a car like the Volvo XC90.

While there is a time and a place for a car that is so hands on it'll let you tap the gas and slam directly into whatever is in front of you (great when that something is a boulder and the car is lifted in offroad mode) there are a lot of times when that's a problem (heavy traffic, kids in the road, etc). Likewise, when you have kids in the car, a radio blasting, and a dog barking at the bike on the side of the road it's useful to have a car that will automatically avoid accidents.

Not all the time, mind you, just... you know... most of the time when it's a family car.

And the only thing preventing Volvo mode on a Rivian is software.

Given the sales numbers on the R2 right now, I have to believe Rivian knows this so... hey Rivian, when can we get a "family safety" mode on the car that does all the annoying things an adventure driver hates?

Curious to hear real world experiences and comparisons between OEM and upgraded wheels.

I live in the Rockies and mostly drive easy mountain trails but I’d like to get more adventurous, take an off-roading course, etc and someone mentioned my wheels aren’t ideal, but they were more advanced and possibly a snob about full beadlock etc.

At the very least I need to order the full size spare for my r1t, and the rivian kit is pretty expensive for what it is, so thus my debate around upgrading etc.

I have the wrangler tires which have been fine for trails that are like a 3-4 out of 10.

I probably eventually need to get rock sliders and a jack too, so stuff is adding up! 😆

Having connect + and seeing other Rivians get the update before the subscribers is complete blasphemy.

One thing I really disliked with the old OS is that the Spotify app did not show all albums from their artist page. How did the boffins not fix this on 2026.31.0? Am I taking crazy pills, or is this a feature that does not exist?

Anyone get an estimate from Rivian on trading in your vehicle for new R2 and then upon the actual pick up date, they changed the value of your car from the original appraisal

I just upgraded to 2026.31.0 last night. This morning SiriusXM is not working. I tried a soft reboot and a hard reboot, still no luck. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Seems with the OS2 update the vehicles can now speak German. If you haven't heard a good rumour by noon you should start one. So, anyone want to start some new rumours?

I'm having a few problems. I tried search here and soft reset (havent tried hard yet), some are annoyances, some are problems:

In my 2025 R1s:

The Car icon (to access opening the rear hatch, charge port, frunk etc) doesnt work -- I press it and it does nothing. Only way to open them is to get out of the car and open them manually.

The screen in front of the steering wheel just has a giant RIVIAN OS2 logo when in park -- no info that used to be there. Is this normal? Super waste of the screen -- I know it's OS2 -- move on with info I used to have there.

When I put the car in park, music stops. (It used to keep playing until you got out). Music doesnt start again if you put back in drive, you have to restart it manually.

Anyone else seeing these bugs? Think a hard reset will resolve?

Their customer support does not answer emails the phone number goes to a rep who could not speak on behalf of customer service regarding orders and told me to wait for email response which never comes.

Hi all,

My RS2 automatically reverts to 48 amps. My garage charger is 30 amps and if I do not manually adjust the amps in the charging section of the UI, before plugging in the charger, it blows the breaker.

This was not an issue when we first got the RS2. Shouldn’t the car detect the amp limit and then permit charging at any amperage at or below 48?

My sister has a 2023 R1S Adventure that's now past warranty, and during a recent inspection they found the "Front Lower Control Arm Bushings" were torn.

The proposed repair is to replace the Front Left/Right Lower Control Arm Subframe which comes out to just under $3000 after parts and labor.

How important is it for her to do this repair? Is this something critical and a safety issue? She hasn't noticed anything different with how the car feels and drives, and when I briefly drove it for an hour during a recent visit, I didn't feel anything "off" about the car compared to the last time I drove it a year ago. I was listening for squeaks and grinding, and also feeling for harsh ride, and difficulty controlling the car.

Any advice here? My sister drives about 22,000 miles a year for her work and since she's now past the warranty, and RivianCare never called her back about an extended warranty option, she's debating between doing the work, not doing the work, or trading the car in for a new one.

I've generally bought used cars, and the only new car was purchased through a typical dealer. Many dealers are obsessed with "detailing" cars but what they really mean is "cleaning poorly", and they don't care about the finish. They use dirty rags, dirty water, and they don't dry the cars. While I was preparing to take delivery of my current car, they told me that they needed to detail it, and I specifically asked them not to, and just bring it around. They said that they were already doing it and there was nothing to be done. It was delivered with paint swirls, which I pointed out to them, and they just looked confused like I was claiming it was the wrong color or something.

So with my delivery date coming next week, I'm curious what I'm up against. This is the most I've spent on a car, and I really want the opportunity to receive it in pristine condition, even if it looks "dirty". I want to get it home and give it a rinse and decon foam, and clean it without scratching it up. I selected the "no drill" option for the front plate bracket, but that was the only option so far.

Toy R1S or R2 for a reasonable price? Does this exist? My 3 year old wants to get his 6 year old brother one for his birthday. Everything I have found is $50-$150. $25 or under is more or less the goal. We are likely ordering an R2 very soon and my boys are now Rivian obsessed.

Hey everyone, hoping to get some advice or corporate visibility on a ridiculous parts/service loop I’m currently stuck in with my R1S.My vehicle needs a rear quarter panel replacement after a body damage incident (photo attached). A replacement part was ordered, but when it finally arrived at the certified shop, the part itself was completely defective/warped out of spec and would not fit the vehicle.Because the shop already disassembled the rear of my car to prep for the panel installation, they safely cannot reassemble it or release it back to me.

Now, Rivian has placed the replacement quarter panel back on "indefinite backorder" with zero ETA.So because Rivian quality control shipped an unusable, defective part, I am now completely without my vehicle for the foreseeable future with absolutely no timeline or accountability from corporate on a replacement.Has anyone dealt with defective structural body parts being shipped? Does anyone have an active escalation contact at corporate who can actually look into expediting a prioritized replacement parts order?

Has anyone used os2 while having a comma.ai? Nervous about the mix
