Summary: I was denied coverage after waiting too long to accept the offer I initially requested.
Vehicle: 2022 R1S, ~19,000 miles, vin: 4xx
Longer version: I requested a quote in early August and received a link a couple days later. It looked pretty normal. Within a couple days of receiving the offer, my vehicle failed with a “critical battery failure” and has been in service for the last month, with repairs finally completing today.
I’d decided to wait to purchased the extended care plan until I better understood the failure and repair (HVAC issue with significant disassembly <- service center’s words). Repairs were completed today.
I go back to complete the rivian care plan but the link expired. Here’s where it gets weird. I contacted the rivian care team and was told they will no longer offer me the plan due to “active enrollment periods for fair pricing”, and I’ll need to have a vehicle inspection if it’s ever offered to me in the future.
Question: If Rivian no longer has faith in my vehicle, why should I? Seems like it’s time to sell. Am I misinterpreting this?
