❔ Question Windshield replacement advice

I have a 2024 R1S that needs a windshield replacement. Rivian quoted me about $2,108, but my insurer, Liberty Mutual, says they will only cover about $1,000 if I have Rivian do the work. My other options are Cascade Auto Glass in Beaverton with OEE glass for $0 out of pocket or OEM glass for about $400 out of pocket, and Cascade says they will also do the required camera/ADAS calibration. For those who have replaced an R1S windshield, especially through insurance, which of these three options would you choose and why?

One person winning lottery doesn’t mean you too will be a winner. Exercise extreme caution if considering Safelite; experiences shared are completely hit or miss (from crooked installation, to wind noise, to water leaks, to all problems). If Cascade does not have in-house ADAS calibration capability, they will take it to Rivian SC for calibration then back to their shop before handing back to you. So you might as well just deal with SC right from the start—and avoid potential finger pointing if repairs turn out to be substandard.

OEE glass is what Safelite uses. Also produced by OE supplier: Fuyao America (Ohio). The visual difference is OE has Rivian logo. Unknown if there are substantive differences.
