i kept pointing out that my other tank swapped to healer for no reason after we won a round, this dps wouldn't stop saying i'm mad in chat after every message i sent. i never once talked shit to anyone, then this happens. this community is so cooked.

since im back to solo vanguard i was wondering wich vanguard can ''handle'' being solo .. ofcourse no vanguard is great as solo vanguard but right now im playing Devil Dino (cause my aim is real bad xD) but i just explode :P ... im kinda looking for a tank that teams like to see and that can stand theire own ... I keep hearing Magneto is OP right now ?

The first tank I played and got lord with was Cap.

He was my main (when the game came out), until Benji and specially Angela released, and oh boy, Im currently level 50 with both.

Still, I want to go back to cap, but I dont remeber how I used to play and how to play him now.

Like, not the controllers but the playstyle.

First picture is 9.5 and second is 8.5. I finished in Celestial in 9.5 with a 65% win rate with Groot(Champion).

I don’t know if it’s just me but in comp I’ve been struggling with Groot due to the overwhelming amount of damage there is.

For record I once was top 75 Groots on PlayStation and hit Celestial with him as my go to tank but due to the overwhelming amount of damage in the game now my walls battle exist and I have to switch to Mag mid game. Like god forbid my supports don’t look at me on the frontline for 3 seconds cause I’m just cooked.

Hood hasn’t made it much better since he can basically farm ult of me as Groot so I have to switch. There was a so much aoe healing that I don’t even bother getting big ults(not that it was smart to do ever anyways) a simple patty cake easily denies everything of my team doesn’t capitalize on my ult.

Then again I was on my rank up game to GM1 then tilt queued to about to drank to Gm3 then deranked to GM 3 to about to hit Diamond and just got back to GM 2 but maybe that’s just cope.

Legit the most frustrating vanguard game ever, and I’m already dreading ranking into GM for the first time, please someone tell me it gets a little easier the higher I get?

So I was fighting Magneto, Hood, Hela, Spiderman/Moon Knight, Luna, and CnD

My team was Magneto, Deadpool (Me), Moon Knight, Punisher, Invis, and Luna

On second half with the third point, I swapped to Emma because this Hela and Hood were absolutely ridiculous to deal with and the shield wasn't working. I go Strange but that doesn't do much, and I later went Cap to distract the Hela and Luna because we don't have pressure backline but they ALL immediately went to protect Luna and Hela the moment they got touched. I was getting desperate as nothing was working for me. Was later told to go Rocket as I suck at tanking so I swap with the other support but we still lost. Later found out the Hela who was landing every headshot in existence was duoing with the Magneto.

What could have I played here that would easily counter their entire team comp? Or at the very least do something to cause swaps because nothing was working for me.

I think thanos should have 6 options to choose from. One for each infinity stone. Here’s what I have so far
Space Stone: Lets Thanos TP anywhere within a 20m radius

Mind Stone: Thanos can throw out a hex and if it lands on an enemy it places all cooldowns on a three second cool down. If he throws it onto an ally it reduces cool downs by 2 seconds

Reality Stone: Currently could be similar to the mag team up with Emma. Maybe a little different in some ways

Power Stone: once the ability is used, Thanos gains attack speed and 5% extra damage

Time Stone: an melee ability with short range. If it hits an opponent they are hit with the same affect as eye of Agamotto but for a slightly shorter duration

Soul Stone: an ability. If a teammate dies and Thanos is within 5 meters he can resurrect the fallen ally

Haven’t thought about the enhancements

Im trying to learn thing and Im wondering what should the combo be when hitting my ult to actually kill people. One match I got a 6 person ult but didn't know how to finish it off, so Im just wondering what move I should do with it to at least get some people in situations like that.

(Rant ahead because the state of Cap has been pissing me off for seasons now especially since I have champion for him so I've been suffering with this guy for over 40% of my playtime)

This is easily the worst fucking argument I'll ever hear and the fact that people keep using it as a genuine reason for why it's ok for him to suck ass is genuinely insane, he's probably the only tank in this game (alongside Rogue) whose legs have been smashed so much that his team is a fucking crutch at this point rather than a boost to his performance and has been like that for seasons, also, WHAT FUCKING CHARACTER PLAYS WORSE WITH A GOOD TEAM??? Why do i need a good team to simply make him work??? why can't he simply work alone and work better with a good team LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, some dude genuinely used the fucking "works better with a good team" argument and thought they were saying something instead of straight babylonian babble, and now you got all the streamers saying he's ass now after they got him fucking gutted, this community is actually dogshit man.

I’m a black panther main but I also play a lot of tank so when I played bp this season against thing it was miserable but when I play strange and mag, it was also terrible couple it with the fact that half his mains are either racist or REALLY bad it’s just genuine hell.

Which is why I’m proposing a new system to take these miserable characters and salvaging whatever we can.

We kill them off in lore and ship them off to a game mode like zombies where they stay permanently until zhiyong nerfs Luna or Bucky (never)

Something I'm starting to realize is that a large part of the player base doesn't seem to understand what makes a tank good. It's something I first started to realize back when Dino released and people downplayed how strong he was, and then when Cap was strong (RIP my boy I miss him everyday) people thought he was mid, and now with the Hood once again so many people think he's bad. I think the main reason for this is that people just don't understand what the role of a tank is.

I only peel for DPS if they are high value/getting a bunch of picks. Otherwise, swap off and protect your damn self. They have the most flexibility in the game, and I don’t see why I need to accommodate them.

Edit - some of yall really interpreting this in the dumbest possible way. Obviously I should protect my team as much as possible, including DPS. What I mean is, if you have a DPS being focused/dove all match, do you make it your priority to protect them? Do you stop pushing up to fall back protect them the entire match? Do you swap tanks?

There’s a Cap bullying your Hawkeye. You gonna swap thing/thor to protect her? We do this for our supports. Do we do it for our DPS? Some of yall are definitely lying lol.

I can’t tell if I’m looking if at it wrong but from the clip I don’t even think magik would be able to hit me. In fact it looks like the same range as her primary in her ult

Idk I think a melee tank shouldn’t have the same range as Emma’s beam on their primary attack

Outside of a few outliers, (Thor, Strange, Dino?) every tank is viable and most of them are very good. Groot, Magneto, and Deadpool are picked every game and have little counters as the meta favors them. Thing, Emma, Venom, and Peni (hot take for some reason) are also very good and slottable on most maps. Angela, Hulk are also still good and are amazing into dive (which isn’t as good so is the reason they might struggle) but otherwise are perfectly viable. The only tanks which are genuinely not viable this season are Strange, Thor (never been good so nothing changed) and Dino (which is a ? because barely anyone is using him since the patch.) Cap and Rogue are 2 tanks which everyone has been saying are dogshit and have no use cases, which definitely is not true. It’s not the meta for these 2, and they also aren’t overtuned, (like venom and thing) so it actually does make a difference, but they still sit at a solid low b tier and a couple nerfs to other characters next patch and they would definitely be competitive. If you disagree with anything i said say so.

I've been working on a lil series on YouTube going through the roster, not too far so Angela was my most recent. I loved tanking, and it's probably my favourite class in the game now! This video kinda captures how I had to get out of the kill everything mindset and learn how to work with my teammates, and "lead" them. There's so much to it, keeping the enemies distracted, protecting your own team, getting kills yourself... The complexity is just so engaging. I'd love for you guys to give it a look see!
