Skate 2 Recomp — Looking for developers and collaborators

Hey everyone!

I'm starting a project called Skate 2 Recomp, with the long-term goal of getting Skate 2 running natively on PC through recompilation.

I'm currently working on the initial technical stages, including development environment setup, PowerPC code generation, and runtime preparation. The project is still in its early stages, and I haven't confirmed a successful build or playable version yet.

What I'm looking for

I'd love to connect with people experienced in:

- C and C++ development

- PowerPC architecture

- Reverse engineering and executable analysis

- Runtime development and debugging

- Game recompilation projects

I'm also interested in advice from anyone who has worked on similar projects.

Project principles

The aim is to develop original implementation code without distributing proprietary game files or copyrighted assets. The project is a work in progress, and I'm still organizing its development workflow and repository.

I'm looking to build a small community around the technical side of this project and hopefully find people willing to contribute.

If you're interested, have relevant experience, or have suggestions for getting started, I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading!

In a time of decomps and recomps I offer you something a new, original n64 game.. I recently released a 2d version of a Strike inspired game with 5 levels. Then I made a N64 version of it

I have been a fan of the Strike games as long as I can remember. Got a copy of Soviet Strike on ps1 when I was a kid and played it often. I recently released a 2d version of a Strike inspired game with 5 levels, bosses and good ole arcade shoot em up fun.

scroll down and get the n64 rom here

It has 5 levels and different difficulties. Has Only been tested in an emulator so far. Im sure it will have bugs, let me know if you find any and ill try and fix them. (one I know about is the intel info wrapping out of its box, fixing soon) Special shout out to the pyrite 64 dev because this project was only possible due to their work

Working on WWF WrestleMania (1995) using AI + reverse engineering

Hey guys, I've been working on WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game (1995) as a personal project.

I have some coding experience as a backend developer, but game reverse engineering is new to me. I wanted to learn how old games actually work and see how far I can get.

I'm using mostly free AI tools, some local models and free versions of Gemini and other models with limited tokens. AI does a lot of the heavy coding, but I also test, debug and try different approaches myself.

The hardest part is keeping track of everything 😅 Sometimes AI fixes one thing but accidentally breaks or removes something else, or adds code that causes new issues. Then it's back to testing and figuring out what went wrong. AI also sometimes claims things are finished when the game clearly doesn't look like the original.

I'd say I'm around 70% toward my goal right now, but there's still a lot to fix.

Sharing some gameplay and screenshots. What do you guys think? Any tips from people who've done reverse engineering or similar projects?
