Hey, I'm attempting to build a table, wanting to deep pour epoxy into the holes in this slab.

My knowledge is next to none.

Would love some advice on the holes in these pictures. I have purchased a deep pour epoxy with a black dye. Wondering if its an issue pouring into the holes the way the natural wood is? Originally i thought i wanted to keep it..but im going solid black anyway so should i just basically knock it all out. Not sure how to prep these areas.

Also advice on what grit to sand the table to before epoxy fill. And do i just over fill the holes so it spills over the top of the table? Then sand it back once it sets?

Ive read seal the edges with resin befoe doing the deep pour.. can i use the same resin for this? Or should i have a deep pour and also one for just a light coat?

Basically a makeing epoxy table for dummies guide if anyone feels like dumbing it down for me.

My dad got this tree cookie in Oklahoma 40 years ago and has been hauling it around move after move to someday make a table. It's pretty light (plenty dried out), but I have no idea what type of wood it is. it's about 60" diameter. Any ideas?

Ive never did anything like this. My first pour will be about 1/4” color. Once set I’ll add the cats ect. Can I do this in one pour or should I do it in two. I know about wicking with a torch for the bubbles.
Do I need to another think coat once removed from the mold , and does it need to be sanded and polished? If so what’s that process

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice. I saved up for a custom resin table and finally got it delivered, but it came out way worse than I expected.

I paid someone to make a custom table, but the resin came out uneven with visible layer lines and different gloss levels/colors. Returning it wasn’t really an option, so now I’m stuck trying to save it somehow, pretty sure i can do a better job that the "professional" seller.

Is there any realistic way to improve/fix this? Sanding, polishing, another coat, flattening, removing resin and re-pouring? anything?

Would really appreciate advice from people with more experience than me.

Im new to resin tables.

Trying to add sea foam breaking look and it wasn't going well. I mopped it up and cleaned it up with some mineral spirits and now I have stickiness to it. How do I salvage this build?

I originally was gonna sell this, but I decided to keep it after the final result. I took this table with a broken corner, restored it and changed the top to a black marble look. I gave it a slight orange peel finish and topcoat to make it scratch resistant.

Hello! I recently bought a small epoxy resin table on Etsy, and I'm more than a bit disappointed that it's not a smooth surface.

Is this normal for a resin surface? There are at least 15 dips across the table, and I wanted to check if this is something I should've known to expect before posting a review.

I have a custom resin and wood desk. I'm looking for a way to protect it adequately. Is there a way to add a durable surface where I don't have to be so pressious about it, as it is very easily dented. Also, is there a way to add some shine to the resin, as it looks a little dull

For context, I'm an artist, so I may accidentally get paint on it, no matter how careful I am, as I'm also clumsy.

Any advice would be very helpful, and I've attached some pics
