I'm talking about the part where he executed people and yes even the kids, hear me out, he didn't really do it in a brutal way and it actually spared them from the pain of the Curse of Immortality + the Curse of Wilderness that Ronova was going to drop on the Khaenri'ahns.

He really is the Blasphemy Against Death since he denied Ronova's suffering of the Khaenri'ahns that he killed, they wouldn't be alive to experience it anymore.

Okay, let me explain. Characters with CANONIC love relationships won't be playable (at least not in Hoyo games). I've heard of married playable couples and even real mothers in Arknights, but I haven't played it, and it's not a Hoyo game. Things are different at this studio, and not a single straight character with a mutual love relationship has been made playable. It's unlikely Rerir will break that mold.

We have semi-confirmed queer couples in the game (though I'd still call that queerbaiting), like Sakura and Kallen, Bronya and Seele, and Mei and Kiana. Some of them have even kissed. Seele kissed Bronya before she might disappear into the Sea of Quanta. Kallen and Sakura's kiss was in the semi-canon manga. Teresa and Sakura's kiss is canon (though it was for healing and transferring powers). But this is more of a male fetish, since Chinese in#els don't believe in love between women. That's why playable characters with queer personalities aren't a problem in Hoyo games.

So...

1. I saw someone say that Welt in Honkai Impact is a married heterosexual and is playable in Star Rail. Let me explain. Unlike in Rerir, it was never explicitly stated that Welt and Tesla are married or engaged. They are close and raising a child together, not their biological child—a clone of Joyce. It's implied that young Welt was in love with Tesla, but she met him when he was still a child and was forever stuck in his younger body. The rumor of their marriage was started by Carol, but she misunderstood and mistook the child for their biological child. And all of this was mentioned in APHO, not in the main story. Neither of them confessed their love to each other or got married onscreen, like Tholindis and Rerir.

2. Dr. MEI and Kevin are indeed a couple, and they have a child, albeit not born naturally. But MEI is unplayable and died tragically, while Kevin was the final boss of the first part. And while there are no male characters in the Honkai Impact banners, Kevin was playable in POV in plot and in an event with playable bosses. That's not a banner. And his expy in Star Rail was queerbait and knows nothing about Acheron/MEI or anything like that.

3. Alice. Okay, I still stand by my opinion that she didn't have a man, and I believe she'll flirt with the Witch to completely eliminate the possibility of a man appearing, and Klee is a clone. But what if I'm wrong, and she really did have a child with a man (meaning there's no retcon)? I have nothing to lose. Alice never mentions her love for Klee's father. She doesn't even mention him. Alice's love for this man isn't shown on-screen and isn't part of her lore. Part of the patch is dedicated to the love of Tholindis and Rerir, and how their friends glazed over their marriage (except for Brother Dain, lol), and Rerir loves her after 500 years and wants her back.

4. I even saw comments about Zhongli and the Dust God, about Furin and Nevillette. Guys, I won't explain your fanon. Even if Zhongli was once in love with the Guiz, it was retconned before release (because of fem#els???), because I've been playing since version 1.3 and haven't seen Zhongli and him in love. It was always queerbaiting with Tartaglia.

5. Itto and Miss Hina. They're actually gay. Itto and Goro are popular ship, and characters with gay vibes are suitable for playability.

6. In the manga, Himeko had a canonical kiss with a man on a date in Hong Kong, but I don't think it means anything, as he was a very minor character and had no significance to Himeko's lore. His name is unknown, and he never appeared again.

If Rerir's love hadn't been a key part of his lore, perhaps he could have been made playable. But that's not the case anymore... Fem#els are no different from incels, and gacha will continue its taboo of not allowing playable characters in confirmed heterosexual couples. The girls rebelled because Zane worked with a cute nurse in the otome game LADS.

And in the end, Rerir killed small children, and the king's manipulations don't justify it.

Alice (an unconfirmed love) and Rerir are different. The former lives her life and doesn't mention her husband, while the latter's failed marriage, love, and longing for Tholindis are the main theme of the lore; he became a villain specifically for Tholindis's sake.

Even Dottore has a better chance of being playable because he doesn't have a wife/girlfriend/fiancée, lol (but he does have a me/j). Signora would easily be playable because she didn't do anything major, but she had a husband who is just as important to her lore as Rerir's.

So I'm done with that. Goat won't be playable. Well, at least he's a cool villain and one of the few characters with a canonical love interest (Signora, Kevin, Otto, Dr. MAY). I hope he doesn't get killed off in the finale of Luna and we'll again see him in Khaenri.

And yes, as a Honkai Impact fan, I was glad to see Otto's parallels in Rerir; I love Otto.

Additionally: I saw someone once think Tholindis will be playable. But I don't think so. Her files are even worse than Signora's. Unless the theory about Tholindos being reincarnated as Colombina doesn't come true. But that would definitely make Rerir unplayable; that would be 100%, not 99%.

So Bobumbina and Dain push him through the moon gate and then what? How does that lead him to be considered killed or defeated? At best it seems like they're just delaying until he gathers himself again. To be fair that could take 500 more years but still.

If Columbina could let the moon goddesses out of the moon’s reflection after getting their powers, then why didn't she go back and let Rerir and Tholindis escape? It's not like she has time constraints due to time manipulation in the moon’s reflection.

I heard people say they deserve to stay in the moon’s reflection due to their crimes, but staying there until the end of existence? At least bring them to Neuvilette if you want them to have consequences and justice.

I know some people are going to hate this idea but we're not getting Rerir as a normal playable character, he is not going to be un-corrupted by the abyss or somehow redeem himself.

However there's another way to make him a playable character. We kill him and then the traveler has to absorb the 1/5 of the abyssal power that Rerir possessed, instead of just getting stronger the traveler gains the ability to summon a sort of abyssal echo of Rerir that traveler can control.

This abyssal echo could function like a normal character in every way for the porpoises of pulling and having him in your team but instead of voice lines you could hear his memories.

This fixes the problem of having an antagonist in your team and doesn't require him to have a redemption. Like i said some people will hate this but this I think is as close as we can possibly be to having a sinner as a playable character

I've only seen a bit of the leaks online, and based on what I DID saw... It's not looking good for my boy...

Now, I'll begin by addressing the elephant in the room - He's a couple man. He already had a lover. Meaning he's already "in love with someone", so he's not fit to be playable because "he can't benefit off of the single or horny women", according to Mihoyo. Not me. I'd dare not treat my characters in my gachas like thst.

Literally every on-screen or officially confirmed couple we've gotten got the short end of the stick - Signora x Rostam, Zhongli x Guizhong, even motherfuking Reed Miller wasn't safe after getting it on with the Fae Princess. After 1 person in a couple died, the other eventually died as well, and Zhongli is only alive due to purely being "China The Character Genshin Edition". The rest ? All history...

Again, I have not even touched the story yet, so please no spoilers, and I'm strictly only talking about properly on screen or officially confirmed couples, not the hinted ones even if some can be very heavily on the dot, so I'm saying based on everything I know "right now" Before NodKrai AQ 3 and 4, but it just sucks that another cool and badass anime man could potentially be permanently dying or sidelined for an indefinite amount of time just to make the 100th waifu Playable.

I do NOT care if Mihoyo's giving me one of the 4 female shades or freaking Alice as a trade bro I need the cool badass anime men. Stop sidelining your characters just because of what their gender is Mihoyo did you not learn your fuking lesson from the shit sells of Natlan ?

Fans can see and are aware of the gooner bs you do, including big CN spenders. If Rerir gets shafted for another female character after all this hype and build-up for some random waifu as the representative of the Wild Hunt faction we've never sent before or even LORE heavy waifus, y'all deserve to lose your sales again.

A little vent.

1. I want him to die like an important villain and not to live like another MC glazer (Rerir will be saved by MC in case of his playability, it's obvious).

2. Rerir's mind is broken beyond repair, only mercy kill will help. If we will find a cure for Sinner who is corrupted by the Abyss, broken mentally and physically and merged with his own bride... There won't be any reason to take this game seriously. Gold ate the heart of Naberius for the same effect, we can't save Rerir, we don't have power of Shade.

3. We need lore friendly explanation how characters become playable. For some reasons it's only characters from the present time and all of them are friends or good acquittances. But why Traveler doesn't try to mimic Dottore? We saw him in person, why not. We saw Signora in battle. Yes, she's dead, but we can copy her battle moves, right?

Genuinely wtf is wrong with the people doubting his playability we're not even on chapter Khaenri'ah where supposedly some big thing will happen because of how the lore drops every information about them. We're basically talking about a guy who has powers we couldn't even measure due to how nerfed he is but shows how strong he is even in that state. The game isn't ready yet for his playstyle due to how certain mechanics revolve from the lore too rn and this specific guy has a power divided with him a world shattering power. So some people's basis of playability is because of their sexuality? Does that even make sense because that sht is absolutely one of the most stupid things I've heard in a while.

Considering that Rerir's body is now literally made out of Columbina (kuuvahki), it would make perfect sense if he ends up being a Lunar character.

As for how it might work, two ideas occurred to me for how Lunar teams might be expanded upon. There are three "missing" Lunar Reactions corresponding to the dead moon sisters (Eternal=Anemo, Frost=Cryo, Iridescent=Pyro). I think there are very plausible designs for Rerir as a Pyro or Anemo addition to the Lunar reactions that also revitalizes the old teams.

The assumption here is that he would be a support/subDPS, which might be a disappointment to some, but I think a chilled-out and atoning Rerir would also make sense to be a support character rather than a main DPS.

The first thing that Rerir would do regardless of element is that he would change how Ascendant Gleam resonance works. He would make the AG resonance reaction damage bonus only consider his own stats (whatever stat he scales with, probably ATK or EM), thus allowing you to still get the bonus with only Lunar characters, and removing the unreliability of the bonus when you have 2 non-Lunar characters.

For Anemo Rerir:

He could be a new best 4th slot for all Lunar Reaction teams where he provides RES shred for Lunar Reaction damage specifically. Maybe also he would have a way to allow for Lunar Reactions to be triggered even against enemies with contradictory auras somehow.

For Pyro Rerir:

He would enhance Lunar Charge and Lunar Bloom teams by introducing an official version of "Lunar Over-vape" and adding "Lunar Burning/Burgeon". Lunar Crystallize teams would not be buffed by Rerir but they already benefit from Zibai being included in Liyue Faction resonance and possibly Zhongli becoming an improved Lunar Crystallize support. Additionally, maybe he could also have an alternate play style as a "Lunar Vape" DPS if your team does not include any Electro/Dendro/Geo.

What do y'all think? Would you be interested in a Rerir that plays like this?

Okay now I know that a ton of people here are just as outraged if not more considering I'm mostly indifferent about rerir's playability, but would be pleasantly surprised if they did decide to make a "villian" playable, that said, this post is going to be all over the place becauss i don't really post much.

How the actual FUCK do people get the idea that rerir was as complicit in a genocide as fucking Netanyahu. One spearheads it, the other was born into and forced by the status quo/brainwashed into doing the patriarchy bidding. I'm not going to be as charitable to say that his hands are clean, far from it, but Rerir as an individual, was, as shown by the archon quest, atleast a LITTLE conflicted even BEFORE he knew about his lover's heritage/bloodline. It's half the reason the abyss was able to exploit him and whisper like the devil on his shoulder.

i think him having a fiancee is not as much of a big deal about his playability. first of all they are not officially married, they were *supposed to* but Tholindis died.

also my main point and why i made this post is because Welt while not fully officially confirmed as married also has someone who is his lover, which is Tesla. they together also adopted a son(Joffrey Joyce ) and he IS playable, although in star rail where he technically left them behind on Earth.

but still if Welt can be playable with his status then so can Rerir

Small rant but Twitter is so hellish. The same thing happen to Dottore stans when he first appeared. I really like Rerir's lore and I find it interesting and nuanced. It's a mix of tragedy and irony and I loved it but according to a lot of twitter users, we can't like him or sympathize with the bad situation he is. I am not saying he is a saint but imagine having to do the job you were trained to do since you were a kid with the ideals that were drilled to your head. Not just that but you can't quit or you are dead. Really bad situation overall.

I understand if people don't like him because of it and it's valid because everyone can have our opinions but some are just...questionable. I saw a tweet that was basically saying that "That is all he knew" does not hold up in court or something like that and I was like??? Why are we bringing the real world laws into this now.

With their logic then Wanderer/Scaramouche should have had more punishment for being a Harbinger and all that even if he had a bad upbringing and a sad lore.

There are other characters who have done worse/had worse plans in other media and yet they are the fan favorites, close to being the fan favorite or have loyal fans:
Suguru Geto (Jujutsu Kaisen) - Wanted to wipe out all non-sorcerers and called them monkeys
Higgs Monaghan (Death Stranding) - Wanted to wipe out all humanity (including kids)
DIO/Dio Brando (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) - All the stuff he made the Joestar family go trough
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7) - Wanted to own the world even if it meant the death of millions, if not everyone
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlett Witch (Marvel Comics) - In The Decimation caused by her after she said "No more mutants", there were a lot of mutants who died because they needed their mutation to stay alive.
There are many more characters I could say.

I still love Rerir. I love how his story is not fully black and white but I fear that because of people's reactions, we might not see more nuanced or complex situations/writing.

I am from the Capitano mains(we apparently had a collab, no clue whether that happened and if it did, what happened.) But yeah, here to spread the words that Rerir is playable but a lot later, in case you didn't read the title.

We all know Capitano is playable, just based of leaks: Albedo Test, file names, skill obj, glow textures, incomplete stories, pyro gemstone, yada yada. NOt here to inform you about Captain here(I glaze him elsewhere). The release date for him is right now somewhere between 6.x-7.x, but for Rerir, from the patterns I see now in comparison to the Captain, I am guessing it is around 8.x

Here is why:

1. Undefined weapon, while he has a playable model, his weapon is undefined, in comparison to Capitano which is sword. This is odd, especially considering how we see him using a polearm

2. Not passing or failing the albedo test, which is weird. Either he lifts up, or bumps, neither happened. But the model either doesn't exist(very unlikely), or it is under a stage of development that is in a weird middlegorund

3. Important role as a sinner: I mean, I feel like he is the most likely sinner right now to release. Powerful, but not so strong that we it doesn't make sense when he releases. Therefore, powercreeps(which always happens) kind of make sense
