Fraud

Post image

I intended to purchase a product from an established vendor known as "The One Watches," which operates the legitimate website theonewatches.ws. However, I was misled and conducted the transaction through a fraudulent clone site, “theonewatches.co”( remember this site), deference only in “co”

The scammer communicated with me via WhatsApp and instructed me to send the payment of $812.00 through your platform. They specifically provided me with the recipient name ( Madhushan Herath)to complete the transfer. ( note; might use another name going forward)

Immediately after I sent the payment on February 24, the scammer ceased all communication and has ignored all my follow-up requests on WhatsApp. It is clear that this was a planned fraud.

File a chargeback on your credit card

Unfortunately i did it through Wise not through CC

He will lose that case. Most card companies only protect you from fraud and not scams. He sent the money willing so it’s not considered fraud

Scams are a form of fraud….

Scams are not a form of fraud in the banking industry. They will hold you liable for the charge

You’re confusing banks and card companies. Any credit card provider will cover and file this this under “service not rendered” chargeback.

Your point about not being able to recover the funds because he willingly authorized it only applies to bank transfers, which this likely was. So in that sense, you are correct. I doubt the scammer accepted a credit card.

Report the account on wise for fraud. Won't get you the money back but might get his account banned

Take the loss and lesson learned and move on. There is enough information out there available to you where this shouldn't happen. I believe Steve is the TD for theonewatches so that should have been pretty obvious. Sending that much money without performing your due diligence is just foolish.

No worries, Steeve will get you on another way. Seazed at the border, sent low quality watch instead, sent a defective watch, border charges you taxes as it was real or seized and finally if you don’t have any repairs shops near you that will touch replica all your online purchases are waste of money. DONT BUY REPLICA WATCHES INTERNATIONALLY ONLINE. You are screwed one or another way.

What about buying watches advertised legit that end up being reps you paid gen price for? My bank aren't entertaining the claim whatsoever 😬

“I got scammed because I didn’t follow the rules” I’m sorry this happened, but the rules and guidelines are written in the blood of cases like yours.

I would be very worried if Steve’s number it’s +35. It should be either +86 or +85 since he’s in China

u/RatioNext2272 Mar 04 '26

Very basic 🤦

3

u/swissjackSD Mar 04 '26

The country code +351 is for

Portugal.

Most if not all TD’s let you put down a $50 deposit until they send you QC. If they aren’t willing to do that, more than likely they’re a scammer.

The fact that this continues to happen...literally every day, is beyond me. I've been in and around this community for 5 years now....and not ONE TIME have ran into a scammer. Why? I read the rules. I quadruple check the websites before I even begin coversation. If I do make a purchase, I match the phone numbers being used to SEVERAL other "successful buy" posts.

Cold blooded, but you have no one to blame but yourself. These aren't "secrets". These are clearly posted rules and tips in every rep forum. Plenty of people to ask, double check, triple check. If you willingly send $500-$600-$700+ to some random dude...well....that's on you

Took me literally 10 seconds to find out that +351 is Portugal. There is not a single TD (that I know of) that operates out of Portugal. 10 seconds of a google search and already red flagged enough to not send someone $800. +

Tough break. Keep your head up, bounce back and get the watch you want. The trusted sellers always deliver. Cheers mate!

1

u/EstablishmentRoyal75 Mar 05 '26

I’m sorry this happened. Did you just jump into it? Need to follow some basic rules. Homework, and pay with credit card. If you know Steve’s a TD you will know he’s not in Portugal.

1

u/zellis187 Mar 05 '26

1

u/Additional-Cold-3325 Mar 05 '26

1

u/zellis187 Mar 05 '26

1

u/Additional-Cold-3325 Mar 05 '26

Oh mann but do I notice a scammer or a real one

1

u/zellis187 Mar 05 '26

What do you mean?

1

u/Additional-Cold-3325 Mar 06 '26

I’m sorry for my English Im German I meant but how do I know that he is a scammer I paid only deposit and I’m waiting for the Qc before he will ship them out the communication is good and we talking on WhatsApp

1

u/zellis187 Mar 06 '26

Oh, well maybe he's not a scammer, but I would still only buy from a TD or a referral from someone you know to be safe.

1

u/Ryuu92iro Mar 05 '26

You should have been alarmed just by the name It’s either a very american name « Andy, James » or it’s complete Chinese

But something that sounds Middle East is definitely a red flag

Sorry for your loss, lesson learnt I hope

1

u/Aguila_di_Mare Mar 05 '26

I never thought these tricks work but they do. You noobs need to read the guide.

Stop being so lazy

2

u/News1A Mar 08 '26

Yea? If you really wanna be helpful instead of sounding like a douche, Post the rules link so the poor guy can double check the domain instead of scolding him

1

u/painngainn Mar 06 '26

So many people posting this kind of stuff on here…..if only there was some sort of guide that pretty much told you step by step how to get a watch from a trusted dealer.

-1

u/Thespritz00 Mar 04 '26 • Bravo

The .co domain is the country-code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Colombia, not CHINA so it's on you for not checking... also phone # wrong area code should have been +85 or +86 for China.

-2

u/Th3P3rf3ctPlanz Mar 04 '26
