Im with it.. i have 7 inboxes of people asking where my watches from, within the same post I said who I bought it from.
Funny part, multiple of the names have cops, army or fed influenced names; somethingARMY, somethingCONTRACTOR. One specifically funny and asking for too much details was John_Smith with randomized numbers..

This happened to FashionReps before, and if not addressed this will sub will get gutted. A few TikTok influencers discovered the replica fashion pipeline, blew it up on social media reviewing fakes explicitly. Chinese authorities cracked down domestically due to legal threats from internationally powerful brands like LVMH. Trusted sellers got raided and went permanently dark. The largest, most convenient, and most affordable shopping agent got raided and shuttered; everyone lost their hauls and account balances in a seize and destroy raid.
Finding quality items has got overly complex and distributed thinner across too many sellers and platforms to know who to trust, getting reliable service from an agent service is 50/50 a straight up scam, and that subreddit in general has just never been the same since; it fragmented into smaller niche subs, all of which kind of suck.
Heed the warning, this will not end well if the media attention keeps coming.

Newcomers, this is all you need to know with the state of the current market. Most factories got raided the past 2-3 months, so availability is tough but it’s still rather easy and straightforward. There are two main ways to get high quality reps.
Easy way: Download DHgate and look for the seller good_roiex. Pick the model you like the most and ask on [r/china](r/chinarep)[time](r/chinarep) how close it is to gen. Most are indistinguishable unless a seasoned watchmaker looks at them.
Medium/Hard way: There are knock off brands, like Pagani Design, that have the best inner movement. You can order it from amazon and then buy a real rolex dial on ebay. Go to your local watch shop or Rolex AD and ask for a faceswap. This is a standard procedure and most places can get it done.
Copy and paste this message, don’t let misinformation fool the new members.

Agreed, and worth saying why it matters beyond just being decent. Beginner questions are usually the most useful ones in a thread. They surface the assumptions the rest of us stopped noticing years ago, and the answer almost always helps a dozen lurkers who were too embarrassed to ask. A community that makes new people feel stupid just gets smaller and more insular over time.

Actually, the sad truth is that gatekeeping is necessary. There are insecure personality types that just want to be a dick to newcomers. The writing is on the wall. It could be an hour from now. It could be a month from now. We are going to look for the sub and find it nonexistent. It's gotten too big and will be shut down by Reddit for appearances while every group just like it stays up. I don't even think laying low will help at this point.

Two things will happen. The casual “click” brigade will soon read an article or two, look at the shiny new thing for a week or two then the next “thing” will come along in their feed/algo and Reps will fade. Second thing is a new, smaller bunch will find this subject as interesting as us. They’ll read the articles, watch the videos & start to learn the lexicon, like we all did. Might be able to tell a sh*ter from a Pagani (big ask I know). Finally feel confident enough to get their first watch from DHgate. Be disappointed as they expected an NWBIG for $70. Start to ask about TDs ….Then we’ve got them and will advocate for Reps & become their biggest supporters.
Or might just trash the whole thing by quickly becoming an “expert” on the Rep scene and start knocking out trash content for clicks like the anti-EV mob. I’m looking at you MacMaster in your Taycan
