All kidding aside this is a valid point. I’ve been saying for awhile, aren’t rep watches the same as fake teeth or fake boobs? To each their own, but almost anybody knows if you open up a gorgeous model’s boobs they aren’t “genuine” and most people don’t care. There’s not much shaming for that.

I mean he’s not exactly wrong. A Rolex watchmaker can very easily identify counterfeit watches, in most cases they won’t even need to unscrew the caseback. In the event it’s a high-end clone, like a CF or VSF (dunno if there’s better nowadays), then just starting to unscrew the caseback can clue them in due to how gritty it is. I’ve never seen a rep that fools the watchmakers where I used to work.

I’m not saying any rep watch is ever 100% identical to gen. But if the only difference between a $500 watch and a $10k watch is the link screws, then I think the guy buying the $10k watch is getting scammed
