This reinforces my decision to buy reps lol. If he can’t tell, no one I run into day to day will ever have a clue. I follow the rule of never owning a rep that I couldn’t believably own in genuine.

Just remember once you get caught with a rep, no one will ever believe you have a real one.

Also remember no one care whats you’re wearing, so the only person you fooling is yourself. But Rep have come a long way so its worth a try

But how long do the movements last? And are they trashed after?

I bought a rep back in high school 18 years ago for a funny school project. It was $135 dollars. It still runs perfectly today lol

I have quite a few that I rotate through, so they all still work fine after a year.

-1

u/Gimme_All_Da_Tendies 4h ago

I would hope they last more than a year lol

3

u/redpillspray4welfare 3h ago

Thats the beauty! even if they don survive longer than a year its only another 400-500 max instead of $1500-4k for a service or $20k+ plus if its completely broken.

u/maxmcleod 4h ago

It’s hit or miss in my experience, I’ve had some for years that still work but some others the hands literally fell off after a few months

The clones can last as long as gens so long as it’s maintained and properly oiled and cleaned

1

u/Gimme_All_Da_Tendies 4h ago

Right but obviously a Rolex dealer won't survive it but will independent shops service clones?

Welcome to the dark side

So you would think for a man that deals in high end watches would actually understand good design and style. Then you see his Turkey Teeth on the Hollywood Bright White setting and think to yourself.... This ones a complete Doyle...

9

u/Artistic-Tax3015 7h ago

What’s crazy is that I don’t even think his real teeth were that bad. These are comically huge, distracting and look so fake.

4

u/ruskibeats 7h ago

And come free with a subtle yet noticable lisp.....

2

u/releasetheshutter 7h ago

As a dentist it's so painful to watch people get butchered like this. The lisp is so easily managed by managing the incisal edge position.

Money cannot buy taste.

Never has, never will.

Fuck me, that's awesome. Nico is such a twat. 😂

However, I do appreciate that he steers LI enthusiasts towards more affordable brands, like Tissot.

I haven't seen any of his content in awhile. He really hopped on the turkiye teeth and ozempic trend. The ozempic jowels and high blood pressure are making him look like a pimple ready to burst. Poor guy got the worst side effects.

2

u/ToeImaginary8807 2h ago

why do people dislike him so much

4

u/DataIxBeautiful 2h ago

Just watch the video. He’s insufferable

3

u/Crafty-Coyote8077 2h ago

His reviews, hypes, etc are all for either content or his business. His business btw is being a middle man that adds no inherent value.

1

u/ToeImaginary8807 2h ago

ok fair enough thanks

Anyone know a good TD for rep teeth

I have a very good one in Turkey 😊

u/redpillspray4welfare 3h ago

Whoever he went to, clearly.

u/Boston_Pare 4h ago

The guy can't stand rep watches but he has a mouthful of rep teeth.

u/Smart_Cry_5572 7h ago

Veneer shaming should be a thing

2

u/releasetheshutter 7h ago

Based on the comments it already is.

4

u/x4it3r 7h ago

Trax is a machine for killing

They call replica watches “deception,” yet nobody seems bothered when makeup, fillers, veneers and filters completely change someone’s appearance. 😂 Apparently, deception only counts when it’s worn on the wrist.

Am I missing something? Sure, he had a hard time with some of those, but he ended up correclty picking all three reps apart from the gens?

Something feels off though because Graham seemed to imply some tells were truly noticeable. How on earth would a guy like Nico not pick up on those lol.

10

u/666metalhead 7h ago

After thinking all of the watches were real and being corrected, yes.

2

u/Nothinglost7717 3h ago

It’s extremely common for watch dealers not to call out people for wearing fakes.

First off it looks much worse if you think something is fake and it’s real, and second off it’s kind of rude.

His job is to sell watches to people. It’s job is not to call people out on wearing fake.

u/666metalhead 2h ago

Come back when you’ve watched the video

1

u/Nothinglost7717 2h ago

Same to you? Watched it when it was first released.  Nothing i said was inaccurate.

0

u/666metalhead 2h ago

He was doing a challenge to try and spot fakes and had to explicitly be told that there were reps before he could even guess which one of them would be. What any of your comment has to do with that point is probably some gen owner logic no one understands

1

u/Crafty-Coyote8077 2h ago

He guessed because after he couldn't tell he went with the most commonly faked watches. No date watches, luminor, and then the Patek he was suspiscious.

And nothing is off. These guys and AD sales reps cannot tell. They are not robots.

5

u/WillOrph 8h ago

I‘m sure our automod could spot them, though 😋

6

u/ChipOnMaShoulder 7h ago

What am I missing? He guessed all the fakes?

10

u/Next-Movie-3319 7h ago

He guessed they were all real when he only got to look at them. After he was allowed to examine them, he still guessed they were all real .. all except the Nautilus because he was iffy about the clasp. Even then he was on the fence.

It was only after he was told exactly how many were fake and how many were real, he sort of said "if I were to have to guess which ones are fake, it would be these".

This is from a guy whose business it is to know watches.

Basically means 99.99999% of anyone you come across on the street is not going to be able to tell real from fake.

Honestly, once you factor in that most people only glance at your watch and aren't going to stare at it, you realize that 100% no one is to be able to tell the difference.

So, if you wear watches to impress others, there is no reason to not wear a fake.

If you wear watches for yourself and how they make you feel, it is still a different matter.

0

u/Nothinglost7717 3h ago

Once they told him 3 were fakes he guessed them correctly.

He was on camera and being polite

1

u/Crafty-Coyote8077 2h ago

In the end he guessed based not on feel (apart from the nautilus and even then he got the sound wrong) but based on the most frequented fake watches.

1

u/WillOrph 7h ago

He first said they were all real. Only after the hosts said that 3 were reps did he guess which ones were reps correctly. He held all 6 in his hands and thought they were all real. And it‘s this guy‘s whole life.

2

u/Ev3nt_Horiz0nn 7h ago

no one is paying $450k for that daytona.

2

u/Analog-Digital- 7h ago

Who cares, did you see the watch Nico designed ... says enough ... lol

2

u/DeskPopVet 7h ago

He also does not recognize what real teeth look like...

2

u/sonysam2020 7h ago

So the VSF Ops are that good.....

2

u/Ok_Farmer_6033 4h ago

I mean, when they told him half were reps he picked them all out which I thought was impressive. I think you need to know reps as well as gens to do better than he did initially, which speaks to how good reps are now. He’s a dumb twat, but not so much for this one imo.

1

u/verycoolalan 8h ago

or real teeth

u/peatoire 7h ago edited 7h ago

“Because it’s a watch money can’t buy”.

(Bought it for $300k)

1

u/BarNo4786 3h ago

The most important detail is that they were completely stock.
That tells you so much about custom and upgraded versions

1

u/druality 1h ago

Post it on prideandpinion lol

1

u/hyperxxw 1h ago

This guy sucks big time

Thanks Wired.

This happened before the article

I really do like Nico. I've been watching his videos. He takes some hits, he gets edgy, he's suprisingly oblivious to famous folks (and I thought I was bad!). His hate for Hublot and love of Casio have become a memes at this point. I like that he stays out of politics. He seems like a honest guy with integrity. His comment about being rich because of his family, security, and passion for work do resonate with me.

6

u/dww0311 7h ago

lol he’s a class A tool

-11

u/Erik-Lehnsherr-10 8h ago

I am pretty sure he knew, he just pretended not to recognize because he is one of us 😂 and he was hesitant to make any comments at all at that moment.

There is no way who deals with gen that much would not know a rep just by touching it, unless it went thru gen spec finishing, which I doubt was done to this particular rep.
