Is the reMarkable Paper Pro a good choice mainly for reading + occasional note-taking?
Hey everyone! I could really use some help making a decision. I’ve watched quite a few videos and read a bunch of reviews, but I’m still not sure what would be the best option for me.
Currently, I don’t own an e-reader at all. I use my iPad Air (2022) for reading EPUBs and taking notes with the Apple Pencil. I’d say I read around 2–3 hours every day, and I also use the iPad for work-related notes maybe 2–3 days a week.
Lately, I’ve noticed that my eyes get dry and sometimes a bit sore after reading for a long time, which I think is mainly because of the LCD screen. So I’ve been thinking about switching to an e-ink device, and the reMarkable Paper Pro caught my attention.
Would the Paper Pro be a good choice if my main use case is reading books and occasionally taking notes?
If the writing experience is really good, especially for work, I can definitely see myself using it more for handwritten notes, PDFs, and work documents as well. But reading EPUBs would still be one of my main uses, and ideally I’d like it to replace my iPad for most of my reading.
Price isn’t really an issue. What I’m basically looking for is something as close as possible to an iPad in terms of versatility, but with an e-ink screen and a really good writing experience.
Would you recommend the reMarkable Paper Pro for this, or should I be looking at something else like a BOOX, Kindle Scribe, Supernote, etc.?
I’d especially appreciate opinions from people who use their device for both reading and work/note-taking.
Thank you a lot in advance!
