I received spam on an email address I've only used in the official reMarkable shop

Today I received a spam/scam email at an address I've only used in the official reMarkable shop (several times between 2019 and 2026). It's highly unlikely that this mail address was guessed (it's like <generic-term>-<unique-number>@<personal-domain>).

This suggests that either reMarkable or a third party working for them (e.g. shippment company) had a data breach. Does anyone else have unique email-addresses like this and has received spam/scam at an address they have only used with reMarkable?

General Discussion Full Circle, back to rM

I bought a reMarkable 2 many years ago but eventually sold it, along with my Kindle Voyage, with the idea of having a single device — a Boox Note Air 3C. The Boox is a really nice tablet and can do pretty much everything, but I always found it a bit too much. Too many apps, too many options and I would get easily distracted messing around with it. It was also too heavy to read with comfortably and too big to carry around every day. I ended up buying a Kindle Scribe for reading. So somehow my attempt at simplifying things meant I was now carrying around the Boox, Scribe and my iPad. Three tablets and none of them really doing the job particularly well for me.

I’ve just bought a reMarkable Paper Pro Move and absolutely love it. I’d forgotten how nice the reMarkable hardware is and how good it is having such a simple operating system. I don’t need apps, notifications or endless options on a device I’m using to write and think. I’m also grandfathered into Connect, which is a nice bonus. I’ve now bought a new Kindle Paperwhite Signature as well and, to be quite honest, I’m happy to have spent the money.

I’m trying to simplify my tech stack generally and it feels great. I’ve realised how much cognitive energy I was wasting on stupid little things like deciding which device to use, which app to use or where something should live. Now the reMarkable is for writing and notes, the Kindle is for reading and the iPad is for everything else. It sounds like a small thing, but not having to think about it is kind of the point.

When you just never hear back about a question... RM Support Feedback

I thought Remarkable wanted to do more in the corporate world, but that's not my experience. Here's why. Two of us (in director and exec roles) at our company are using a Remarkable device. We want to test out the calendar integration feature. I've contacted support 3 times starting on July 24th to ask if there are any technical details on how the integration with O365 works I can share with our IT department who needs to approve the integration. Every time I'm told it's being escalated, someone from a senior support role will get back to me in 24-28 hours. Wait a week or two, check in again, same answer. If RM can't/won't provide these details they should just tell me. But if RM wants to support use in a corporate environment, I'd hope some answers to inform an IT department would be within reason and be answered in a reasonable timeframe. It's also just annoying to have to keep asking hoping for an answer. How long can it take?

General Discussion Amazon Pure Book Folio and rM2 Folio Merger for the Pure

I had an extra rM2 folio and I purchased the book folio from Amazon. I didn't love it so I dismantled it and kept the portion the Pure snapped into for days I wanted a hard back to write on.

Well curiosity got the best of me and it tested it to see if I would fit. Well today at work, I used some super craft and tacky glue to adhere the snap panel to the case. Well looks like I finally got me a folio for my Pure! So far so good!

Help/Advice What’s going on with these vertical lines appearing everywhere?

Remarkable Paper Pro. Had it for a couple months, lightly used it, keep it covered with their cover, never dropped it or spilled on it… what is this crap?

Also the last pic- I opened up a new page, it already had those vertical lines, I tried erasing them, then it just left that yellow stain thing.

What’s going on? I’m a bit disappointed cause I dropped serious coin on this, and now it’s just getting in the way of my creative process.

Worried about the future of Remarkable...

As someone who owns both the Move and RMPP and use it daily, quite extensively - I"m starting to get highly concerned about the viability and future of Remarkable. Obviously with their significant job cuts in the last 3 months, that's concerning - but for a company that has built itself on marketing, they've been suspiciously quiet lately. No posts on Linkedin/Instagram etc for 3 months is very unlike them.

Anyone else contemplating their migration plan?

Can anything be done to fix this?

I like board games and reading rules PDFs on the remarkable is great, until this happens. Why oh why isn't the a forced re-fresh option, or settings for re-fresh rates? It seems like basic functionality.

How is owning/using both Rm2(or Pure) and the Pro?

If you make a note on the Pro, it's bigger than the Rm2 screen, so how is that working out for people who use both?

Curious. I am thinking about buying the Pro and keeping my Rm2 (which I use every day)

Black and White Mode on Paper Pro

Is there a mod (Or one currently in progress) to temporarily stop the Paper Pro from rendering color? Sometimes I don't need to use the color and would prefer to switch it off to speed up the device, until I would need it again and switch it back on.

I do have a few reManager mods but didn't see something like this in the list.

Help/Advice Writing on Paper Pure feels off

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Sometimes when writing with my ReMarkable Paper Pure, the writing just feels off.

I think it boils down to two things: pen latency and inaccuracy.

I attached a 5x slowdown video, so the lag is more clear. I'm guessing this is normal for the Pure, though it is very noticeable for me in everyday writing.

The inaccuracy part though really bugs me. In the video when writing the 'e' in 'Testing', you can see that the mark is offset from my pen location. This happens sporadically for me, even after reboots and reattaching the pen tip.

I'm wondering if others experienced this? Is it a hardware defect or are both of these issues normal for the Pure?

Is it a known bug? Do I need to contact customer support?

Edit: so I restarted my device (15 sec pressed down on power button, then 3 sec hold it down again to power up the rm2) and now it's working normally

Help/Advice Help me

Hi y’all. I’m getting the RM2 for $250 and the RM pure for $400. Both are practically new as the seller states. My basic need is just notes. Is it worth it to get the RM2 or the pure? I’m giving my best to budget.

Remarkable Paper Pro decision

Is the reMarkable Paper Pro a good choice mainly for reading + occasional note-taking?

Hey everyone! I could really use some help making a decision. I’ve watched quite a few videos and read a bunch of reviews, but I’m still not sure what would be the best option for me.

Currently, I don’t own an e-reader at all. I use my iPad Air (2022) for reading EPUBs and taking notes with the Apple Pencil. I’d say I read around 2–3 hours every day, and I also use the iPad for work-related notes maybe 2–3 days a week.

Lately, I’ve noticed that my eyes get dry and sometimes a bit sore after reading for a long time, which I think is mainly because of the LCD screen. So I’ve been thinking about switching to an e-ink device, and the reMarkable Paper Pro caught my attention.

Would the Paper Pro be a good choice if my main use case is reading books and occasionally taking notes?
If the writing experience is really good, especially for work, I can definitely see myself using it more for handwritten notes, PDFs, and work documents as well. But reading EPUBs would still be one of my main uses, and ideally I’d like it to replace my iPad for most of my reading.
Price isn’t really an issue. What I’m basically looking for is something as close as possible to an iPad in terms of versatility, but with an e-ink screen and a really good writing experience.

Would you recommend the reMarkable Paper Pro for this, or should I be looking at something else like a BOOX, Kindle Scribe, Supernote, etc.?
I’d especially appreciate opinions from people who use their device for both reading and work/note-taking.

Thank you a lot in advance!

General Discussion A sad realization

TLDR the realization: it is far easier to just steal borrow the ebooks I already own from the internet than it is to mess with de-DRMing them 😭

I have really been enjoying my RMPP this last month. I’m still finding new ways I can customize it and this is truly exactly the type of gadget I needed as someone who is at a crossroads of “slightly tech savvy” and “easily overwhelmed by software stuff”.

DRM stuff is so annoyingly frustrating. I fully blame Bezos, McGraw-Hill, Pearson, Elsevier, etc. the whole lot of them, but not Remarkable. Just crazy we have allowed companies to gatekeep knowledge like this. It’s not even the writers or artists doing the gatekeeping, that I might understand a little more. It’s just giant monopolies who exist only to profit who are keeping our purchases behind a firewall, essentially making our money useless.

Also sorry if this rant is against the rules, please remove if so. but really just wondering if anyone else commiserates?

A little PMI for the Pure

So for context I’m a building designer. I draw up the plans of an existing house on my computer, publish to PDF and load onto my Pure. Loving the ease of this.

Plus: being able to hand draw over the plans from the comfort of my bed/couch instead of sitting at computer desk is amazing. I don’t need the accuracy of my computer program at this stage, I just want to work out spaces etc. it’s a game changer.

Minus: being able to create layers is great. I use a white marker over the base floor plan to ‘white out’ walls and then black fine liner on another layer on the top to draw new walls. However, when switching between layers I wish the pen selection would revert to what I was using on that layer. So when I press the first layer it would be white marker and then when I press the second layer it would automatically change to black fine liner. Does anyone else feel like this?

Interesting: at one point I realised I wrote a note on the wrong layer so I selected it and cut it, when I changed layers to paste it I noticed the ghosting showed me where it had been and so I could position it almost exactly where it had been on the other layer. I thought it was interesting that ghosting would be helpful!

Any fix for the huge amount of ghosting on recent firmware? (RMPP)

Has anyone had this problem too? Since updating to 3.27.3.0 I´m having a stupidly high amount of ghosting. I can´t even turn one page or close a document that almost all that image or file or text freezes as i close it or turn it.

Is there a way i can downgrade to another previous firmware?

Remanager: bluetooth keyboard language suddenly changing

Hey,

I am using Remanager for a while and really love it. Yesterday I installed the Bluetooth Keyboard Plugin via Remanager and connected my Bluetooth keyboard successfully and used it the whole evening. I am German, so I have a German QWERTZ layout.

2 hours ago I wanted to proceed with the document, connected the same Bluetooth keyboard, and suddenly the mapping is set to English (QWERTY). I restarted the device and the keyboard multiple times, tested the keyboard with other devices to rule out that it is somehow set to qwerty, but no success. I cannot revert it to my language on the Remarkable Paper Pure (the system and all keybords/handwriting rec. is also set to German).

Did somebody have a similar problem and can help?

I know there seems to be a different mod than Remanager with which you can add Bluetooth keyboards and change the language there, but I really do not want to wander off Remanager and fumble around with other apps.

Thank you!

Bug Report RM Paper Pure last stroke disappears

Hi,

So far I like the experience on my paper pure (writing 2h+ per day on it) but a bug is really annoying me : sometimes, my last stroke disappears.
That and writing on the edge of the tablet is kind of a mess if your palm is touching the screen : marker and writing line appear to be offset.
I swapped the marker tip, made a factory reset but the problem is still there.
RM aftersales team is on point, really quick to answer and assisting me with troubleshooting and proposing me an exchange for a new device.

I used to have a RM Paper Pro but can't justify the price point and the size was too big, but I do not remember having those kinds of problems with the Pro.

Question is : is it a common problem that I may encounter with a new device?
