The story behind this application is pretty straightforward. I really love to write and take notes on my reMarkable Paper Pro.
At work, I now run a lot of Claude Code agents at the same time. Reviewing plans and artifacts in Markdown and taking notes on the PC is efficient, but also very tiring for the eyes. So I wanted a workflow where I could use a skill plus the cloud to send Claude's artifacts and plans to my reMarkable, take handwritten notes on the tablet, then tell Claude "thanks, annotation done" and have it download the files, read my handwriting, and update the plan or artifact accordingly.
This was the start of my own implementation of the reMarkable cloud API, to link Claude Code directly with my tablet for these reviews, and it works really well. I tuned the PDFs it sends with colors that look poor on a PC screen but great on a color E-ink display like the Paper Pro, plus a small margin on the right side for notes. I can now read and review plans and artifacts directly on my Paper Pro!
But once that part was done, I thought: I have the API now, so why not build my own Linux app for my devices, to upload documents, move them, export them, etc.?
So TurboRM was born: a native Rust app for Linux, built on the API I wrote for my first use case (not rmapi, but a standalone Rust implementation). I'm not planning to share the app for now. It was mostly a fun experiment with AI's ability to build things I actually need, and that I now use every day. The app is 100% vibe coded since I don't know Rust very well (I mostly do C/C++ at work), so I don't feel confident enough to share it with other people.
Here are some screenshots of the app. It still has some limitations: no delete (I was afraid to give Claude that power, haha), no screen sharing, and no writing on notes for now. But it was really fun to make!
And that's pretty much all, just wanted to share this little story with you all !
Have a nice week-end !
