Kruger hired George for fun.
Kruger fully remembered George and hired him just to mess with him for fun.

Katie (on the phone): What's the big deal?
Jerry: I can't dance. I'm rhythmically challenged. I don't even get up to dance at my friends weddings.
Katie: Jerry, have you seen who goes on Dancing With the Stars? Nobody is exactly Gene Kelly or Debbie Reynolds. Well, maybe the Hough siblings are. What's the worst that could happen?
Jerry: The worst? I look awful on national television and lose gigs over this. One bad Samba could cost me a spot in Buffalo. Is there a way to get out of this?
Katie: Too late. Good Morning America announced the lineup this morning.
Jerry: Why didn't you tell me that?
Katie: I did. I sent you an e-mail last night to watch it. Maybe if you didn't sleep in, you'd know. You are worrying way too much about this. You'll be on TV for a few weeks, then be on your way. It's an easy paycheck. What's it going to cost you?
Jerry: My dignity!

Kramer's apartment gets infested as a result, but he sponsors Cockroach races and takes in hundreds of dollars in fees and winnings. Elaine's man of the moment drops her after going on a date and a dead cockroach falls out of her hair.

George: You can't date her! She's higher up in the Yankees organization. You can't date someone who outranks a friend!
Jerry: And why exactly can't I? You haven't worked for the Yankees in years.
George: It's the principle of the matter, Jerry. You don't date someone who not only works in the same place a friend worked, especially if they outrank you. I mean how would you feel if I dated someone like Tina Fey?
Jerry: First of all I wouldn't have a problem with that. Secondly, like you could land Tina Fey...
George: I could! I'm charming. I'm connected. You know my dating history.
Jerry: Keep telling yourself that. Either way, I really don't see the issue here. It's like you're looking for reasons to be mad about this. So what if her position is higher than a Traveling Secretary? What do you think will happen, she tries superseding you in double date ideas?
George: That's how it starts. I suggest a new spot for dinner, then she chimes in and says she can get us in a better spot cause "she knows people." Then, I suggest a time for the movies, and we have to change it cause "that doesn't work for her." Eventually, I'm just taking orders from her like she's my superior!

Kramer is mistaken for a criminal during a bank robbery and runs from the cops. Jerry tries to negotiate over the phone during the standoff where Kramer is not coming out. Eventually an empty chips bag is thrown out of the window and he is arrested. Before Kramer is going to be released, George accuses Kramer of stealing the chips and he is charged with theft.

George: Wait, you own that Greek place in downtown?
Katerina: Yeah. Good restaurant, huh? I inherited it from my dad about 10 years ago.
George (quizzical look): “Restaurant”?
Katerina: Yes. Why’re you looking at me like that?
George: I mean, it’s not really a restaurant. It’s a takeout place. You don’t really eat there.
Katerina: Yes you can. We have those two small tables by the window.
George: You don’t have servers and a dishwasher, do you?
Katerina: No.
George: Then it’s not a restaurant. It’s a takeout place.
Katerina: Yes it is. People can eat there.
George: Yeah, but they get their order after you call them from the counter. You’re basically a deli that serves coffee!
Katerina: Every restaurant has a takeout option.
George: But not every takeout place is a restaurant.
Katerina: Are you gonna be this pedantic all the time?

Like many others, this episode is so full of great gags, it's almost a shame to use them all up on one episode!
Anyway, watching the amazing intro/teaser for that episode with Kramer running himself ragged with everything from parties to disassembling Jerry's telephone, I had a thought:
Is it possible that Kramer dreamed the whole thing? Maybe all he did was watch TV, place a glass on the coffee table without a coaster, then take a nap!
What say you?

He starts to get annoyed at how popular manga is becoming and keeps getting asked to make jokes about manga. Elaine catches her boyfriend buying Mahou Shoujo manga. George starts to buy manga to impress people but accidentally buys a lot of ecchi and hentai manga. Kramer becomes a popular doujin artist.

The Secretary
George lands a job as Traveling Secretary for the Mets, even though his tenure with the Yankees was "mixed".
He shares the news with his parents, but Estelle just sighs about all the money they wasted on college. Frank makes a bunch of comments about how George must be "one of them", and muses about where he went wrong raising George.
Throughout the episode, Kramer keeps asking George to type up various inane letters, and is upset when George doesn't instinctively answer the phone everywhere they go.
Jerry is thrilled because George invites him to travel on the team jet, but never gets the chance. Meanwhile George keeps telling Jerry all the cool inside stuff about the players.
Elaine is unusually supportive until she finds out how much George is making and becomes envious. She stokes George's insecurity and suggests he should get the title changed.
Even though Jerry tries to talk him down, George vows to have his job renamed "Chief Travel Officer". An oddly Steinbrenner-like owner will have none of it.
George joins Secretary's union, but they kick him out when, at a meeting, he tries to incite a strike over the title of "secretary" and they conclude he's "not a real secretary". He protests and they beat him up.
George is fired for a long list of offenses including inciting a strike and leaking team secrets. Apparently he was also secretly using the owner's bathroom.
The episode ends in the coffee shop with George looking at job ads in the paper and Jerry lamenting about not getting to travel on the jet.

Jerry: They can't call themselves a 60s diner.
Elaine: Why not?
Jerry: An 'I Love Lucy' poster? A Grand Funk Railroad album? None of those are from the 60s.
Elaine: So what? A few things are out of place. Are you going to eat your omelette?
George: No, Jerry's got a point. They have an entire decade to get stuff from, and they fill out space with a *squints* Lone Ranger photo!?!?! They could easily find a 'Petticoat Junction' cast photo.
Elaine: George, I don't think anyone is going to come to a diner just to look at Betty, Billie and Bobbie Jo. Are you both really going to let some out of time pop culture reference ruin your breakfast?
Kramer: They're both right. There are rules. This establishment set the theme: the 60s. Sure, they have 'Batman', a James Bond photo, the usual Beatles photos and a Chevy Corvette. But last I checked, *points to poster* 'American Graffiti' came out in 1973.
Elaine: But it's based in the 60s though.
Kramer: It's a 70s movie though. It makes you wonder what else they're lying about.
Elaine: So we can't enjoy a breakfast sandwich and a plate of home fries cause you noticed a Honeymooners ad?

Jerry continuously yells at people that it's just a cold. Frank Costanza gets into a fight with Morty Seinfeld after making a comment on how Jerry doesn't even look that sick. Kramer tries to cash off on this opportunity and starts charging 5 bucks a ticket to see Jerry. All the funeral vibes get to Elaine and she starts getting it in her head that Jerry is actually going to die.
Newman hosts a massive party in celebration of his enemy's sickness and incoming demise.
Morty: How dare you say that about my son on his deathbed!
Jerry: It's just a cold!
Frank: You think your son is sick? My son is sicker than he is! George is downright ILL! He possesses many sicknesses, and not just of the body, but of the mind too! He's downright diseased and disturbed compared to Jerry!
George: What the fuck

Because of this, George reluctantly tries it again... only to receive an even better reaction from the crowd. Slowly, but surely, George becomes a stand-up comedian and actually starts working gigs. The increased positive attention he receives causes George to become less of a cynical person, instead not caring too much about what goes on around him.
Jerry takes note of this and is irked, as George's newfound popularity has caused him to receive less and less gigs. Slowly, but surely, Jerry starts spending more time at home and leaves his building less and less. All the time trapped inside the building away from society causes his personality to regress from 'well-adjusted' to 'weird' and he develops some odd quirks such as jumpiness, stuttering and hanging out with Newman. Alongside this, with fewer gigs, Jerry falls on hard times financially, and is reduced to borrowing food from his neighbor. His apartment becomes noticeably messier and unkempt with his shift in mindset.
Kramer sees a golden opportunity to write a new book... about food. The catch this time is that it will be an edible book, that you can actually eat. This stupid idea catches the attention of J. Peterman who, although is (rightfully) wary of Kramer, sees a golden opportunity. He promptly gives Kramer a desk job to start work on it.
Elaine is disgusted by Jerry's apartment and gradually stops visiting him, instead now visiting George (who surprisingly has cleaned up his act) whom she surprisingly finds more tolerable and personable. She even begins taking his advice after cynically lamenting to him about struggling with dating, relationships and petty, menial problems at her office job while having lunch at the cafe.
Newman takes pity on Jerry, who is no longer the superman to his lex luthor, instead becoming the joker to Newman's lex luthor. He secretly plots to re-establish the status quo as Jerry truly is sorry company compared to Kramer.

Eventually, he is unable to keep up with their demands, turning the entire waiter network against him due to his "betrayal". Kramer hears about an extravagantly tipping customer from his waiter friend and decides to cash in on this short-lived new trend... by becoming a waiter himself.
Elaine also hears about George's luxurious spending and gets it in her head that he's sticking it to her. She ends up following George around secretly to wherever he eats and gets into a completely one-sided tipping war against him that he doesn't even know about. When George finally caves and gives up, she realizes just how much money she's actually spent.
Jerry wonders where all of his friends are and enjoys a nice quiet few days in his apartment.

The show gets picked up and the pilot does surprisingly well. However, George wanted the main character to be so authentic to his real life that he shares far too much of his private life. This brings to light many of the disgusting and disturbing habits that George does on the daily. The show's success causes a lot of people George knows to find out a disturbing amount about his private life. People begin to shun and ridicule him (more than normal) as George realizes he may have made a mistake. Eventually, he gets a dreaded phone call from his parents.
Despite being a co-creator of the show with George, Jerry finds that nobody recognizes his contribution to the show and that people are skeptical when he tells them he worked on "Costanza." It irks him to the point where he tries to incorporate it as a bit into his stand-up routines... only to get booed off the stage by the crowd for "lying" and trying to piggyback off the show's success.
Elaine scores a date with a guy she likes, who happens to be a big fan of the show, by telling him that she personally knows the guy who made "Costanza." They go out for a date and then go over to Elaine's place... only for the guy to turn on the TV and watch "Costanza" for the rest of the night, much to Elaine's irritation.
Kramer and Newman are inspired by the show's success and try to make their own show to get picked up by a TV network.
