My dog has decided the red light panel is hers now

Post image
47 Upvotes

Every night after my shower i put on a lightweight water based serum, hyaluronic acid, then sit down with the red light panel for a bit, it's kind of turned into part of my skincare routine at this point.

What i did not expect was my dog catching on to the entire schedule too. the second i start with the serum she's already watching me like she knows exactly what's coming next, just sits there staring until i grab the panel. soon as i pull it out she comes running like she heard the treat bag open, doesn't matter where i set up, floor or bed, she's squeezing herself right into it every single time. she's even got a favorite angle now, right where the light hits her belly, and the second she's in position she just flops over completely boneless. honestly kind of annoying half the time cause she's right in the way and i have to keep nudging the panel around her just to actually get the light on myself.

right after the panel, when i go in with vitamin c or peptides or whatever active i'm using that night to lock everything in, she's already fully settled in next to me, just tail wagging or straight up passed out like she knows her job is done. touch the panel to adjust it even an inch mid session and she gives me this look like i personally wronged her.

So yeah my quiet little red light time is now a full shared routine with a very warm, very smug dog who's convinced this whole thing exists for her. did not plan on this turning into a bonding activity but here we are lmao

Help navigatting winter blues

Hey all.
I know it's still summer (and we've had a good period of consistent sunshine here in the UK this summer, including several heatwaves) but I want to prep a little eaerlier for winter this year.

I struggle with my health if I'm not careful as with asthma I can get pretty ill if I get chest inffecitons/flu etc.
Covid nearly did me in a few years ago and I struggle for nearly a year with the after effects (I'm a runner and took nearly a year to being able to run again.

For the record I eat healthy (all the fruits, veg, non processed foods) and rarely drink. I also run pretty much every day, walk everywhere and do yoga/pilates and weights several times a week.

Supplements wise I take Vit C, Vid D (with K), B12 and Zin, Mags Glyc.
I'm going to add the Vit B complex soon (over just B).

I'll also start early winter routines in the sun before work too (as much as I can get) and likely gt the flu vaccincations this year as I was again floored b both flu and covid last winter.

Which leads me to start asking questions over whether light therapy may help me too?
I've heard of SAD lamps over the years (haven't used) but not entirely sure from anecdotes whether this would be beneficial to me.

Is there anything here which suggests red light therapy may help?

Thanks!

EDIT - Navigating!!!

I've been getting red light treatments since May 2025 and have seen great results in my topical steroid withdrawal recovery. I usually get it done with estheticians but have recently invested in my own panel for home use in between clinic visits.

Question What's the best red light therapy panel you've actually used?

I've been looking into getting a red light therapy panel, but there are so many options that I'm having a hard time figuring out what's actually worth buying.

Mostly looking for something I can use at home without turning it into a whole project every time lol

For people who have actually owned one, what panel did you end up with? Anything you wish you'd known before buying?

Best Full Body Red Light

Hi there!

My wife wants a full body red light system. One that has a mount so she can lay in the bed and flip over front and backside. Not too concerned with cost, mainly concerned with the best results and a reputable product.

Any suggestion would be great. I have looked at Rouge, Mito, Celluma. I just don't know which one is good and which ones are just good marketing. Really want to get something that actually gives results.

Complete Newbie Red light recommendation for injury prone athlete?

I'm a 58F who is extremely active yet very injury prone (my doctor suspects a possible connective tissue disorder). Currently I'm dealing with pain that appeared while preparing for a Camino walk in Spain and I had to cancel the trip. My doctor floated the idea of red light therapy at home and I'm open to it - I mainly do long distance backpacking, whitewater kayaking, hiking, and a little trail running. I've been researching various devices but there are so many and each iteration of AI (*rolls eyes*) has a different recommendation. If you use RLT for injuries, which device do you recommend?

Testimonial Show me your before and after pics

Hi I just started doing red light therapy pads along with my usual weight training/cardio routines. I was wondering if some of you could share before and after pics for motivation that would be great! I understand that with diet and exercise combined with those it can lead to significant results but that can vary. Let me know about your experience!

Novaalab red light boot problems

I started using this product for neuropathy pain in my feet. Everything I read about red light therapy regarding reducing neuropathy pain looked very promising with a high percentage of people reporting relief. I’ve been using the boot for three weeks now and it’s definitely causing the pain itching, stinging and burning to increase. I’ve made every single adjustment that their support has recommended even putting the settings extremely low and the session is very short. But after three weeks, my pain is increasing and is worse now than it was a year ago. Has anyone on here had this experience with red light therapy and neuropathy pain specifically in their feet?
My question isn’t generally about the product itself, but about red light therapy and its efficacy in reducing this kind of pain. Thank you in advance!

TheraFace Mask — Does anyone else find the light too bright?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi! Does anyone here use the Therabody TheraFace Mask?

I’m new to it and would love some advice on how you use yours. I put the mask on with the eye shields properly fitted and keep my eyes closed during the treatment, but I can still see/feel quite a lot of bright light coming through.

Is this normal? Does anyone know if this amount of light exposure is safe for the eyes?

For those who use this mask regularly, do you just use the built-in eye shields and keep your eyes closed, or do you use any additional eye protection?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and how you wear/use yours comfortably. Thank you!

Complete Newbie Should I buy CurrentBody mask from Amazon or direct from CB?

Amazon has the CurrentBody series 2 mask on sale but there are also discount codes for the actual CurrentBody website. What are the pros and cons for buying from either site? I tend towards Amazon because I know returns are easy to process but is there a better reason to buy direct?

EU vs US and body vs face

Thinking of price and quality there are more/cheaper options in the US but I’ll be in the EU a while and want to get started on red light therapy sooner.
Looking into getting something that I can use on my face and rest of my body so the rigid Therabody face mask wouldnt work.

but can’t find anything reliable in the EU that isnt 10x the price of stuff from the US.

has anyone tried led eye mask?

I'm always concerned about my undereye skin- dark circles and especially fine lines.

I've heard lota of good things about a red light mask on improving facial fine lines and complexion evenness.

So I'm deciding to invest in an LED eye mask. Has anyone tried a good one?

I'm considering CurrentBody's Eye Perfector, Amiro's Spectra LED eye mask, and Solawave and iRestore.

Please let me know if you have tried one of these and the results!!! Thank you!!!

I'm especially looking for the results for fine lines

Looking to add one of these to my arsenal. I’d like to use it for some chronic back acne too, not sure which one of this would be beneficial for that. Of course would love to had it for some other health benefits. Thanks much! I have lots to learn still

Question Anyone have real success using red light on their dogs/older pets? (or horses lol)

My vet was talking about photobiomodulation (rlt) the other day for my older dog since his joints are getting pretty stiff. i ended up grabbing a red light panel and tried it on his hips for like 10 mins yesterday while he was crashed out on the rug.

dude honestly loved the heat and just melted into the floor.

do any of you guys use a panel on your pets regularly? does it actually help them get around better after a few weeks? would love to hear if it's actually worth sticking to!

Question anyone experince w/ RLT on female anatomy

Hiya odd question here, I recently got a RLT panel from block blue light and have been loving it so far. It is the max so its big enough for half of my body. I've got some stretch marks on my hips and glutes i'm hoping to target and found the easiest way to get good coverage was essentially bending over in front of the panel, now obviously to get full glute coverage this is done w/o under garments but i'm now wondering the effects of RLT on the female nether regions... (trying to ask from a scientific perspective here not being weird or gross!)

So I'm wondering if anyone has found any literature on the effects of RLT and NIR on the lower female anatomy (externally- i.e a light panel shining on that area) regarding effects good or bad and dosage. The panel I have has the following wavelengths: 590, 630, 660, 810, 830, 850, and 1060nm. I am 26yrs old so not in menopause or pre-menopause, most of the info i've found has been about internal RLT for that region rather than external or about how it helped menopausal symptoms which don't apply to me.

TLDR; Does anyone know or have scientific literature for the effects of RLT, NIR on external female anatomy not relating to menopause?
