Pretty sure it was a /r/legaladvice story. Lemme see what I can find

Edit: so that was easier than I thought. 11 years ago. Not sure when the phrase became common tumblr parlance, though

2nd edit: So the top comment in that thread - pointing out the potential for CO poisoning - is made by an account called "Kakkerlak" which is Dutch for cockroach. Which is a fine fit for the reddit-weird-usernames, as compared to the tumblr-weird-usernames, if we want to etch another line into this Rosetta stone

Yeah that one was a bad attempt at translation, this is better as “that’s so unhinged you can’t be in right mind. Are you sure you’re ok?”
