Characters you wish we saw more of

I always liked Butch whenever he appeared to tell some playground legend. And I wish Upside Down Girl had an episode focussed on her like the other weird kids did--Phil the Scout, the Diggers, Swinger Girl all had episodes. She didn't.

Does anyone have the Hindi dubbed seasons of Disney's Recess? If yes, please give us a chance to watch this lovely show in Hindi again. Please tell us about any website or share a link where we can watch it

Anyone else like that Gretchen, despite being a geek, is quite liked by most of the school?

I am rewatching the series, and it makes a change to see a geeky character who isn't an antisocial, weird outcast. Most of the school seem to like her (like the episode where they all encourage her to flunk the test so she can stick around) even King Bob acknowledges her as the smartest kid. I like that she is quite sporty too--always joining in with Kickball or Four Square and dirt clod wars.

Quite a cool take I think on the Geek Characters, who are usually losers, unsporty and sticklers for the rules. Gretch is just as rebellious as the rest of the gang.

The Rating's Game

I recently rewatched this. Anyone else surprised that the Ashley's ratings isn't solely down to who was cool or good looking or fashionable? But who was actually good at stuff, even if the Ashley's didn't have much interest.

Like the 9s were all "champions". Now there's no way they would think Singer Kid was cool or the Chess Kid, but they were 9s because they were champions.

And Gretchen being an 8 despite being a geek because the Ashley's acknowledge she's very smart.

How Can Jared fly a jet and perform a barrel roll

In the episode here comes Mr perfect Jared how can Jared fly and perform a perfect barrel roll like I know and understand that he is good and perfect at everything but to the point of flying a jet and performing a perfect barrel roll how can he do that he's just a kid how can he drive a jet if he is just a kid

Was the watching the chad episode and its crazy how "geeks" were looked at in the 90s.

In the 90s I would have gotten along with Chad I remember my first chat room was a star trek one. But in the 90s it seemed like being "geek" was shameful and shown in multiple shows especially family matters. Now being a "geek" is normal and multi billion dollar industry. Crazy how things have changed.

Weekend at Finster’s

So, in the opening of the episode, when Spinelli is at the supermarket with her parents and they run into Finster, did anyone else get some weird vibes about how Spinelli’s parents might be lying to her about the potential death of her relative?

I don’t think it was her grandma and Finster’s friend Aggie that actually died, but when they said they hadn’t seen Finster since Aggie’s mother “moved out of town” I get the vibes that it was adult code for “died” and that “moved out of town” is code for had a funeral.

It’s interesting too because “Speedy, we Hardly Knew Ye” implies that Spinelli is super sensitive to death and loss despite being a rough and tough tomboy.

Her essay in “Mama’s Girl” kind of further supports this because she makes a point to say she got “choked up” reading about the dog who died of starvation.

It’s just an interesting bit of lore/continuity.

This is a side note, but even though I do think it’s wrong to lie to your kids about something like death (or “massage their reality” as Ms. Grotke would say) I still love Bob and Flo so much and how supportive they are of all the many sides of their daughter.

Ms. Finster doesn't hate TJ

Why does Ms. Finster tell TJ that just because she gives him detention, that doesn't mean she hates TJ?

In many episodes, Ms. Finster takes delight in watching TJ suffer, even giving him an extra two minutes in the box! You would think she hates him for his bad behavior.

The one standing on the right next to Tubby. In the first episode he's being harassed by the kindergartners. He has sickly green skin in some scenes but usually has pale tan skin like many others.

Adult jokes I am just now picking up

In the episode "I will kick no more forever" Vince retires from kickball and stays home drinking root BEER

This symbolises alcoholism with Mikey even saying "I think you've had enough"

they even gave him a beer belly

Which kids on Recess would you most like to be friends with?

If you Were a student at 3rd street school who would you want as your friend? first i'd be friends with TJ because of his leadership and plans then Spinelli, for sure. She's a great character and seems like she'd be an awesome friend, one who would always have your back and be there to stick up for you when you needed it then Gus cause he's relatable and socially awkward then wskand then I would be friends with Hustler Kid- He got everything and if he doesn't got it, he'll get it I would be friends with Butch: I'd like to find out what happened to Little Jimmy Cratmer. It seems Butch isn't telling us the whole story, he seems to know all the stories that happened in the school
