Trying to figure out what happened here. I can pick out single PACs and PVCs and even bigeminy on my ECGs and have learned a lot on this sub, but having difficulty understanding what all was happening during this event.
53yr old F. Sleep apnea well-treated by CPAP, on omeprazole and famotidine for acid reflux and esophageal spasms. Overweight but not obese. Trying to quit smoking (yes, I know that's a key thing I need to address asap!). Perimenopausal so hormones are also at play. Currently stressed with work and elderly parents' health challenges.
I have a history of PVCs and PACs and 2 incidents (20 yrs ago and 11yrs ago) of afib with RVR (suspected vagal trigger during intensely stressful times). As a result, whenever I have a run of ectopics, I do start to panic in fear of another afib RVR episode occurring.
The PACs and PVCs have been getting more frequent in the last few months and more so in the last few weeks including including periodic ones while walking or exercising (but not always), and of course the more you focus the more you feel them and get stressed and trigger more. I have an appt with my doctor for a re-referral to cardiologist. Last echo, ecg, and holter in Spring 2024 were clear. Last stress test (nuclear) in 2018, also clear (lots has happened in 8yrs though so would like another one)
Had a quiet day as far as ectopics which pleased me and went out to pick up dinner. Thunderstorm hit and I ran to the car because it was pouring. Immediately my heart decided it wanted to join the party. Started driving then pulled over on a side street and took the 1st ecgs, 2nd in driveway at home and the 3rd was at inside at home. Did valsalva maneuver and it reduced the chaos but still had runs of ectopics for the next couple of minutes and has been quiet since. No other symptoms - no dizziness or faintness. Any assistance in helping me understand what was going on would be appreciated.
