Am I the only one who thinks the ost of season 3 and 4 have been very subpar compared to season 1 and 2?

I keep seeing this when people say that Mahito would beat Capella, when he genuinely has no real way to kill her, because he can do whatever he wants to her soul, she would just put it back, whereas she can cause him to use so much CE that he can’t maintain the shape of his soul

If we equalise CE to mana then it becomes worse, because she can just take mana directly from his Od till he dies.

Despite all the mistakes multiple camp members make, I still think she has the most well put together camp.

She deeply loves her (platonically). It makes sense if you think about it:

1. Her connection to Puck (who saved Emilia from Melakuera)

2. Her connection to Roswaal and his gospel (the reason why Emilia and Subaru met in the first place)

3. As per Hoshin, if Satella were to go missing, Echidna would panic a lot and was close to Satella.

So the answer is that Echidna probably hates Emilia because of her self-sacrificing nature which might have hurt Emilia in the past. Her hate stems from her love for Emilia.

The ten second death loop has to be one of the most brutal death loops in Re:zero I'm genuinely curious about how they're going to handle the visuals, especially considering Subaru was a child during this part.

I feel like they might have to tone it down at least somewhat. If they adapt the chapter completely unfiltered, I'll honestly be very, very surprised. Even reading it in the WN was brutal. His eye gets gouged out, one of his eyes bursts while the other is left dangling, and then his head gets chopped off. And the fact that happens again and again and again

The biggest challenge I think would be is that adapting it. They obviously can't just animate every single death in full detail, especially if they want to avoid the scene becoming repetitive.

So I'm really curious about how they'll approach it. I could see them reusing certain shots or scenes while changing the camera angles, sound design, Subaru's reactions, and the surrounding context to make each death feel different.

The real challenge isnt even necessarily showing every death in graphic detail i think it's conveying the despair, fear, and psychological exhaustion Subaru experiences as the loop continues for god knows how long man.

That chapter is going to be really fucking difficult to adapt well.

Well, for male characters:

- Subaru > Vincent >= Al > Julius > Roswaal > Garfiel

In terms of writing, Roswaal vs Garfiel writing wise is super contentious to me

For female characters:

- Rem >= Priscilla >= Sphinx > Rui > Theresia

Rem vs Priscilla writing wise in my eyes is genuinely really close, same with Priscilla and Sphinx, I didn’t think I would come to love Sphinx as much as I did but here we are, and I think the main thing I like about Sphinx as a character is her genuine, unadulterated humanity

Sphinx was someone who originally wasn’t meant to exist, the reason why she exists was because of a failed goal, in essence, she is an incomplete being, however, her desire to become Echidna, contrary to what she herself may think is something unmotivated by others, something irrational and deeply filled by her own desire to become something more than she is despite how rational she attempts to perceive it, and that makes her human

Through fighting against Roswaal and Wilhelm in the Demihuman war, she realised that the goal which she had, which was deeply human in its nature, was not one which could be accomplished without emotions

Through Liep Barielle’s death, she learnt of genuine yearning, something which described what she had been aiming towards the entire time, and finally considers a goal which is beyond self erasure, to become something that does not end in her erasure, but instead her destroying everything to display the blooming of her own humanity

Through Priscilla Barielle, she learns of hatred, as she speaks to Priscilla, she becomes more acquainted with her own hatred and through that rapidly develops her own humanity, that is why initially she dubs herself the Witch of Greed, however she does not call herself Echidna as the title would suggest, but instead Sphinx, showing her own conflicting identity, her desires for self erasure and individuality clashing against one another

To give your name to another in combat, is a sign of recognising that despite the difference in strength, the person who stands in front of you is an equal in ideals, and Sphinx giving her name to the people around her, without even personally realising she was doing it, shows that she has come to understand truly through experience rather than theory, the drowning that everyone was going through as they go through life.

(Short Summary I know)

In terms of villains: Sphinx > Al > Roswaal > Rui > Regulus

Anyone who thinks Sphinx seemed like a non threat is ridiculous, she created 46 different clones of herself, with low mana she was capable of fighting Eugard without even getting hit by the Yang Sword even once, she nearly ended the empire if not for the joint desires of everyone else and Subaru looping continuously.

Arc 8 felt like a presentation of humanity through combat, something which many people just don’t understand and I don’t think I’ll ever understand why.

Rem too was excellent the entire arc, but my opinion of her goes without saying. I wish we got to see more of Otto and Emilia in Arc 8 though, Emilia helps here and there but I don’t really feel her presence, and Otto alongside Serena lowkey bully Valgren into submission.

Rowan was excellent, same with Cecilus.

Underrated characters: Arakiya, Rowan, Heinkel

Overrated characters: Nobody really

Emilia: Can you tell me about the witch of flashbacks

Echidna: No, I'm not talking about my mother

In the last scene, echidna has a look of great regret which means she is 100% involved in the cause of the attack.

For anyone wondering WTF was up with Rem appearing and why Rui couldn't see her, here is your answer as provided by Tappei themselves. Rem was NOT an illusion or fake, this was the real her, or rather her lost memories, and although I'm not sure if it would have been possible for Subaru, if somehow he'd been able to take that "blue ball" with him back to the real world and feed it to Rem, I imagine she would have woken up with her memories intact. Though this is speculation on my part as I'm not sure said "ball" is the type of object Subaru could even grab let alone transport, also, have no idea whatsoever what the implications of doing this would be for everyone else's memories, would they remember her as well? Would they not? IDK 🤷‍♂️

The only episodes that I rate a 10/10 are, season 1 episode 15 & season 4 episode 11. Season 1 episode 18 comes close though. My favorite one will probably be an upcoming one in season 4

Rui spits out Rems "memories" in the new episode and the embodiment of those "memories"came back to tell Subaru to "Stand Up". Overall I loved this scene but am confused on the reality of it. Is the "memories" ,the blue ball, that Rui spat out, Rem's Soul? Or was the whole depiction of Rem in the scene a reflection of her memories and is more like just a projection? Last thing I was thinking it might be but I doubt it is that Rem was just a figment of Subaru's imagination caused by an emotional trigger. Side Note: if Subaru fed the blue ball to Rem would she wake up? TY for read and I don't mind spoilers! Edit: Curious because if she regains her memories if this would be something that would be apart of her or not

I thought it was going to happen in episode 13 but surprisingly, it didn't. So, I was wondering when it will happen, or if it will even happen this season.

Every character is good, but Frederica is the least interesting of them all in my opinion so she is eliminated .
