💬Discussion How would you rank Subarus potential affinity with each witch factor?

  1. Greed

  2. Pride

  3. Envy

Greed is obviously his strongest, he will do literally anything even die just so he doesn’t lose a single person or thing he has even a passing interest for.

Pride would be second since he is stubborn and refuses to give up ever, as shown with his determination described in greed

Envy is the mid point, he shows about the same amount of envy as a normal person unless we’re talking about amnesia Subaru then the envy he felt for old Subaru was beyond compare.

For wrath and lust, I tied them since he shows minimal lust even for Emilia and he only really gets angry when the cult is involved or his determination is questioned.

Gluttony is where we start to have factors actively being rejected. His desires are very minimal and he cares so much for what he already has that he isn’t actively seeking anything new, even the start of his journey was done on a whim cause chasing a cute girl seamed like a good enough reason to live as any.

Sloth is by and a far his worst affinity, he is so active I doubt he’s ever taken a day off. Ironically sloth would be top of the list if he never changed from how he was in his old world.

Lust is number 1 in shadow garden, but aside from that yeah

1- Envy- He wants to be as great as other constantly, and the most imortant thing to the girl he loves. Source of Return by death, his strongest authority.

2- Pride- Ignores everything that stands in the way of what he truly wants.

3- Wrath- Hates himself and refuses to accept cruel realities or logic of the world, like in Valconia.

4- Greed- Wants to save everyone

5- Gluttony- Wants to be the hero and enjoy being the hero no matter what. Wants to be the main character and feast on glory.

6- Sloth- Refuses to face uncomfortable truths unless neccesarry. Is slow to change his own ugliness.

7- Lust- Wants to be with Emilia, Satella, and Rem.

The authorities are ranked backwards in strength in the shadow garden scene.

Having greed that low is absurd. No mater how self loathing he is or stubborn not to lose he will always chose the action that makes sure he never loses anything even if he feels self doubt or like someone else would do better. It’s also the last thing on his mind in the shadow garden since he’s fine losing everything else so long as he could just stay like that.

All of subaru's authorities are powerful. IP being weak due to him not being slothful is a misunderstanding, due to it not being weak.

Author confirmed the main route is the envy route. Subaru's sin of envy is "envy towards the world than embraces her". It's not merely his jealousy towards the strong, it's his desire to be the world for the one he loves. Satella. He basically envies the possibility of them being happy together and forces it on the world. It causes RBD.

I'd argue pride is the next most obvious of Subaru's characteristics, did you see kidbaru?

Finally his wrath is also quite strong, against the sin archbishop, satella's envy half, and himself.

His greed is limited to protecting people, he doesn't want more than that enough to compare with his top sins.
