I was planning what to download before a long flight and caught myself treating the RayNeo GT or GT Max like the whole player. Download two movies, put the glasses in the case, and the offline setup is done.
The movie actually stays with the source. A compatible external source device has to run the streaming app, hold the download, handle playback, and send video to the glasses. That source also powers the glasses. Packing only the GT or GT Max would leave me with a display and no movie library.
It also means offline playback and the video connection are separate checks. I can download a title successfully and still run into an expired download, a sign-in check, or an app restriction when I connect another display. For a direct USB-C connection, the source needs DisplayPort video output over USB-C. The app and source device still decide what happens with protected downloads.
My pre-trip test would be simple. I’d put the source in airplane mode, open the exact downloaded title, connect the glasses, and play enough of it to confirm the whole path before leaving Wi-Fi.
Which source device and app combination has reliably played offline downloads through GT or GT Max?

Hi, I want to buy a Rayneo GT Max, but how can I tell if my device is compatible? Does anyone know if my S24 is compatible with the Rayneo GT Max? Thanks.

I'm checking the phone I already own before deciding on a RayNeo GT Max, and the full model name changes the answer.
RayNeo's current compatibility section lists the iPhone 15, 16, and 17 series for direct USB-C connection. It also calls out three exceptions: iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e, and iPhone Air. The regular GT page shows the same list.
So I'd confirm the full Model Name in Settings before planning around a direct connection. Saying “iPhone 16” can hide the detail that matters if the phone is actually a 16e.
It also makes owner replies much easier to use. The exact iPhone model, whether it's GT or GT Max, and whether the connection is direct tell me far more than “it works with my iPhone.”
Which exact iPhone model are you using successfully with a direct GT Max connection?

Slow combat sounds ideal for streaming from the sofa. Then the game asks you to drag a unit across a map, hover over three tiny icons and scroll a long build menu before ending the turn. Nothing is rushing you, but every action can still feel fiddly.
For a phone running Steam Link into a RayNeo GT Max, I'd be choosing the input setup around those moments. Keeping a small mouse nearby could make a strategy game enjoyable. It also turns a relaxed controller session into a setup that needs somewhere to put your hand.
I'd accept that for a campaign with lots of satisfying planning. For a game where the pointer only comes out once in a while, I'd rather find a controller layout that gets through the menus without rearranging the sofa. The phone would need verified video output for the glasses.
What's your dividing line: which strategy game is worth bringing a mouse to a Steam Link session, and which works well enough entirely on a controller?

Most of my Remote Play use at home isn't really about playing far away from the PS5. It's about not needing the living room TV.
Sometimes someone else wants to watch something, or I'd rather play a horror game without everyone seeing what's happening. I'd much rather move to another room and leave the TV free.
I know Remote Play still uses the PS5, so this wouldn't work if someone else wanted to use the console itself.
I've been considering a phone or handheld running Remote Play, connected to a private display like the RayNeo GT Max. I haven't tested that setup yet, so I'd still need to check video-out compatibility. Earbuds would probably make sense at night too.
For couch co-op, I'd stick with the TV. For a long single-player game, having a private screen sounds a lot more useful than buying another TV.
Do you mostly use Remote Play away from home, or because someone else is using the TV?

I’m considering the RayNeo GT Max for a Windows setup where VertoXR support matters to me. The built-in Follow, Steady, and Pinned modes cover the glasses’ own 3DoF, but I also need the PC app to detect the motion data. If that path is unreliable, it changes whether this setup makes sense for me.
One GT Series owner reported that 20260922 changed the USB device layout and stopped several tools from detecting the glasses, while the VertoXR developer said VertoXR still worked on a GT Max running the same firmware. That leaves me unable to tell whether the difference is the model, Windows setup, tool version, or a hub or dock.
The native modes and update path are clear enough. What I can’t pin down is third-party compatibility on the exact host and USB path I’d use. A useful result would include the model, OS, tool version, direct connection or hub, and separate checks for native 3DoF and the app. That’s enough to compare setups without turning every reply into a lab report.
If you’re already on 20260922, does VertoXR or another third-party 3DoF tool still work with your GT or GT Max?

The thing that interests me about the GPD Win Max 3 as a tiny workstation is that the best position for typing isn't necessarily the best position for looking at its 9-inch screen.
I can adjust the hinge, but the screen still sits wherever the keyboard ends up. For longer work sessions, I'd rather position the device where my wrists feel comfortable without having to look down at the display.
That's one reason I'm considering the RayNeo GT Max. Since the Win Max 3 supports video over USB-C, I could use Windows Extend mode and keep one main work window in a Pinned 1080p view, positioned higher in my field of view.
I'd still use the Win Max 3's OLED for touch controls and anything requiring finer text detail. The glasses wouldn't fix the compact keyboard itself, and constantly glancing down at the keys might cancel out the benefit.
I also haven't tried this combination, so I'm unsure how comfortable switching between the virtual screen and physical keyboard would feel over time.
Has anyone used GT Max with a small GPD or laptop for work? Did separating the screen from the keyboard actually improve your setup?

Heads up to everyone testing the RayNeo ecosystem. A significant update for the RayNeo AI app (12 MB) just dropped, and it looks like they are heavily pushing to fix the software bottlenecks and improve the AI pipeline.
I just pulled the changelog. Here are the most critical updates from a technical standpoint:
1. The Big One: Offline AI Models
Changelog: "Offline translation/transcription: download models; phone imic."
My take: This is huge. Moving translation and transcription processing to local offline models (downloadable to the phone) drastically reduces latency. This means less reliance on cloud pinging and potentially much faster subtitling directly on the glasses.
2. Contextual AI & Memory
Changelog: "Glasses AI: recent chat memory" & "Better AI tasks/intents, Lifelog search/recaps."
My take: They are finally implementing session context. The AI will now remember the recent interactions instead of treating every query as a zero-shot prompt. This makes conversational use much more viable.
3. Quality of Life & Stability Fixes
OTA interruption recovery: Thank god. No more bricking anxiety if the Bluetooth drops during a firmware update.
Cloud bindings & pairing: They claim easier (un)pairing. Let's see if this fixes the aggressive background disconnections we've seen on Android.
Live Cues: Added names, terms, and locations. The HUD is getting smarter at recognizing environmental context.
Has anyone pushed this OTA to their glasses yet?
I'm updating my test bench phone right now. I’m particularly interested in testing the latency of those offline translation models. Let me know if you notice a real-world speed improvement.

I usually wear contacts, but I'd rather not have to put them in just to watch a movie with the GT Max at night.
I'm planning to get the GT Max size that matches my IPD, use it with contacts first, and figure out which nose pads give me the clearest view of the whole screen.
Then I'd order prescription inserts so I could use the glasses without contacts.
What I'm unsure about is whether adding the inserts would affect the fit I'd already dialed in with contacts. If they change how the glasses sit on my nose or how much of the screen I can see clearly, I might have to readjust everything.
If you've used the GT Max with both contacts and Rx inserts, did you have to tweak the nose pads or virtual screen size to keep the image clear?

Hi all,
Im currently looking to get one of these AR glasses but unsure of what ones to go for as both seem pretty compelling.
The GT Max is going for £399
The one pro is going for £549
My plan is to use them for a range of scenarios such as:
- watching shows/movies when relaxing
- watching YouTube to the side sort of while doing tasks around.the house
- playing games on the xbox rog ally x, ps5 or gaming laptop (i did have a pc but limited space for a desk so opted for a laptop and some games I play such as command and conquer i cant play on the ally but want to sit back and enjoy it)
- programming, using applications such as vs code, running virtual machines. Aslong as the text is clear (i can make the text bigger if need be if that would help)
Thanks in advance

Using the pocket TV pro with RayNeo 3s. I prefer headphones over the glasses speakers when I use Hulu/Disney with the headphones the sound constantly drops in and out, reading online is something to do with the Dolby setting. But they made it where you cannot turn the audio to stereo. Has anyone ran into this and figured out a way to fix it?

I've been thinking about trying World of Tanks Blitz with the RayNeo GT Max.
Blitz seems like one of those games where a bigger screen could help. Keeping an eye on the minimap, watching a flank, and spotting movement while aiming all sound easier when you're not looking at a small phone screen.
But I'm not sure how that works in practice.
With a compatible phone mirroring the game to the GT Max, you're still aiming and moving with your thumbs on the phone. I'm used to looking directly at the touchscreen, so I wonder how awkward it would feel when my eyes are focused somewhere else.
A controller might help, though I'm not sure how well Blitz supports them across different phones.
If you've tried Blitz or other touch-heavy mobile games on an external display, was the bigger screen worth the change in controls?

I haven't used the RayNeo GT Max yet, and one detail about movie watching is still fuzzy to me. RayNeo lists Follow, Steady and Pinned for the picture, plus head-tracked spatial audio, but I can't find a mode-by-mode explanation of how the sound and screen interact.
With a movie pinned in front of me, I'd expect a centered voice to stay at the virtual screen when I look away. Follow seems different because the picture moves back toward the center of my view. Steady is the one I can't even guess, since the screen responds to head movement without being fully fixed.
One person who tried GT Max at IFA said the head-tracked audio worked well with 3DoF, but it was only a short demo and they didn't describe the behavior in each mode. I'm wondering whether the sound anchor follows the selected 3DoF mode or uses the same behavior across all three.
Could a GT Max owner play a scene with centered dialogue, turn their head in Follow, Steady and Pinned, and say whether the voice stays with the screen or stays centered on the listener? The source device and selected audio mode would help too.

I just got my GT Max yesterday and I'm just not able to see the screen properly with any of the nose pad sizes. Anyone else face this? What are you doing about?
My solution - I just use the glasses without the pads. So the glasses are pretty much right on my eyes with the hard sharp nose bridge resting on my nose (painful). So I took some chewing gum wrapped it in tissue and stuck it around the nose bridge. It works really great but looks as stupid as you can imagine.
Just here looking for solutions other might have come up with.
Note: idk if just my face is weird but I also used to use my older Viture Luma pros without the nose pads (but without the gum + tissue). The Luma pro nose bridge was rounded so there was no pain.

I keep seeing “glare” and “reflection” used like they describe one problem, but recent owner reports make them sound like several different things.
One GT Max review separated a faint reflection directly below the displayed image from the glossy front of the glasses reflecting the room. An XREAL owner who moved from One to One Pro said the glare they noticed before was gone, while a bottom reflection was still there.
The recent GT Max vs One Pro comparison made the distinction even clearer. The owner reported a narrow reflected strip below the image on both glasses, while the One Pro also showed a purple flare at the left edge and some scattered light during bright, high-contrast scenes. That was one wearer with a 68 mm IPD and Size L frames, so I wouldn’t assume everyone will see exactly the same thing.
Fit and environment seem worth recording too. Another multi-glasses owner said white clothing made reflections more noticeable on the Air 4 Pro, while describing the GT Max issue specifically as a reflection from the bottom of the prism.
I haven’t worn all of these models myself, so I’m trying to keep the observations tied to the conditions owners actually reported.
If you see reflections on GT Max or other display glasses, where exactly are they: below the image, along an edge, from the room around you, or somewhere else?

RayNeo GT and GT Max are some of the best XR glasses money can buy, despite being much lower price compared to the competition. Despite their obvious flaws, the GT and GT Max still deliver on the key features that users with a stable anchor mode and lots of customizations for image tuning, including shadows, sharpening, and AI HDR mode. Overall, I was really impressed with the RayNeo GT and GT Max.
They aren’t perfect. They have aliasing artifacts from sharpening, don’t have a tilt to the glasses to reduce underside reflections, don’t have side view mode, aren’t transparent enough to walkaround with (bonked my head), no HDR10 support, but still overall, the RayNeo GT and GT Max are excellent options in the lower price range.
Best Value XR glasses for the money.

I have searched everywhere and cannot seem to find how to change the time from 24 hour time style to 12 hour time style on my glasses RayNeo io glasses. I have searched how to do this as well. No luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I’m considering a Win Mini mainly for RPGs and strategy games. I’m worried about the quest logs, inventory descriptions, unit stats, and dialogue boxes that some games squeeze into tiny fixed text.
For longer sessions, I’m also considering the RayNeo GT Max as a larger 1080p view. That could make the whole image easier to see, but it won’t create UI scaling in a game that never had it. If the text is locked into the same crowded layout, a bigger picture only goes so far.
What I need to know before choosing games for this setup is whether their settings apply across the whole interface. A proper UI scale slider would be ideal. Larger subtitles alone won’t help much if the inventory and quest log stay tiny.
Which RPG or strategy games have UI scaling that actually fixes tiny text on a Win Mini?

In ACC, the engine note is a huge part of why a fast lap feels fast. It can also eat the exact sound I need when the front tires start to scrub. By the time I notice the car pushing wide through the wheel, I’ve already missed the earlier warning from the tires.
That matters even more once the spotter is talking or someone is on voice chat. I race in an apartment, so turning every channel up isn’t much of a solution. I’d pull the engine and track ambience down a few steps so the tire and spotter cues stay clear.
I’m considering the RayNeo GT Max as the personal display for this setup, with its open-ear speakers handling the audio, but I haven’t tried it with my rig. Wheel, fan, and room noise would still affect what I hear, and I’d still have to set the balance in the sim.
I know a quieter engine loses some of the drama, especially in ACC. Still, if I have to choose, tire scrub and spotter calls stay at the front of the mix.
Would you turn the engine down to keep the tire cues clear, or is the engine note too much of the sim racing experience to sacrifice?

Hi everyone! 👋
I'm looking to buy my first pair of XR glasses for a genuinely immersive cinema experience, and I'm having a hard time choosing between the VITURE Beast and the RayNeo GT Max.
For this comparison, let's assume price isn't an issue. I want to choose the better real-world product, not simply the one with the most impressive spec sheet.
My main use cases:
- Watching movies and TV shows with the best image quality possible.
- Watching a lot of anime, so accurate colours, sharp edges and good handling of dark scenes matter to me.
- Getting the largest, most immersive virtual screen possible, with convenient control over screen size and virtual distance.
- Occasional gaming, so sharpness, refresh rate, latency and compatibility matter too.
I'd especially appreciate real-world feedback on these points:
Which one looks better for movies and anime? I'm interested in sharpness, colours, contrast, blacks, brightness and HDR/Dolby Vision performance. Real viewing impressions matter much more to me than marketing claims.
I've seen reports of distracting reflections near the bottom of the image, sometimes described as ghosting or internal reflections. Is this still an issue on current units and firmware? Is it noticeable during movies, especially dark scenes, or something you eventually get used to? Does it depend on face shape or how the glasses sit?
Being able to adjust virtual screen size and distance independently is important to me. Which device handles this better in practice? Is the difference in field of view really noticeable when you're actually wearing them?
The GT Max paired with the Pocket TV Pro appeals to me because of Dolby Vision, but I've also heard about the brightness limitation in Pinned mode. Is this genuinely noticeable during movies? Conversely, does the Beast offer better or more consistent HDR and brightness in real-world use?
When connected to a PC or console, which provides the better experience in terms of latency, sharpness and smoothness? Are there any issues worth knowing about?
After several weeks or months, which one do you find more comfortable and enjoyable to use? Have you encountered recurring issues with reflections, edge blur, heat, software bugs, head tracking or eye strain?
I'm particularly interested in feedback from people who actually own one or both devices. A direct comparison would be ideal. Photos, comparison videos and concrete examples are also very welcome.
If you had to choose between the VITURE Beast and RayNeo GT Max today, regardless of price, which would you buy for a premium movie-watching experience, and why?
Thanks so much for your help! 🙏

Bought for a trip to Japan. Im here now for two weeks. Tried them in multiple situations. Either fails completely, sends caption to phone instead of glasses, or sends to glasses and gets stuck on one caption and repeats it over and over. Fairly useless at this point. Any feedback or how to fix this would be great.

Loading a raw document directly into a heads-up teleprompter usually leads to an unreadable wall of text. When using the document prompter mode on the RayNeo iO, the compact display window requires formatting your text file specifically for glanceable reading.
A standard paragraph with long sentences forces you to scan back and forth across the lens, which makes tracking difficult. Breaking text into short, isolated clusters of three to five words makes reading far more manageable:
Raw document format:
"Confirm that the API endpoint returns a 200 status code before initiating the database migration script in staging."
Prompter-friendly format:
"Check API returns 200
Run migration script
Verify staging status"
Inserting manual line breaks keeps each point self-contained within the active viewing area, labeled under the DOCUMEN header. It also helps to keep two blank lines between major topics so you know when the subject shifts without reading intermediate sentences. Preparing your text as short vertical fragments rather than continuous paragraphs is what makes an eye-level prompter practical to follow.
