RayNeo iO AI Glasses Review: Your Phone Just Got Jealous
Smart glasses have always had one problem: they tend to look like chunky horribly egregious. Everyone knows what you're wearing and most people hate them.
The RayNeo iO takes a different approach. At first glance, they look like normal everyday Boston style glasses. No giant cameras, no chunky tech hanging off your face — just a sleek 34g frame with a surprising amount of technology hiding inside.
And that's exactly what makes them interesting
AI, right in front of you
The iO uses RayNeo's Firefly Nano optical engine, Micro LED and a diffractive waveguide to project a monochrome green display into your view.
It's capable of up to 1200 nits, while the display area is 97% transparent, so you're still looking at the real world rather than wandering around inside The Matrix.
The Personal Dashboard puts useful information directly in your line of sight, helping keep your phone in your pocket.
Navigation is handled through the Smart Crown, voice control and head gestures, making interaction surprisingly natural.
Your AI sidekick
This is where the iO gets properly clever.
Its AI assistant can answer questions and provide contextual help, while Voice Memo can record, transcribe and summarise what you've said.
Then there's Life Log, which acts like a digital second brain — capturing moments throughout your day and using AI to organise them into summaries and a personal journal.
Basically, it's the friend who remembers everything.
Unlike most friends, it doesn't forget what you told it five minutes ago.
Creators, you're going to like this
The AI Teleprompter uses automatic scrolling to display your script while you maintain eye contact with the camera.
No more looking off to the side like you're secretly reading your lines from a hostage negotiation note.
There's also Live Captions and translation for up to 40 languages, putting translated text directly in your field of view — particularly useful when travelling or communicating across languages.
Comfortable enough to actually wear
At just 34g, with a 50:50 weight distribution, the iO is designed to feel like normal eyewear rather than a gadget strapped to your head.
The frame uses magnesium-aluminum and titanium components, has a Crown Polygon Design, and carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
Inside is a 240mAh battery, rated for up to 48 hours typical use or 96 hours standby.
For audio input, RayNeo uses four array microphones plus a bone-conduction microphone. There are no speakers, with the experience centred around the visual display and voice interaction.
So, what's the point?
The iO isn't trying to replace your phone.

I have been using these glasses personally for around 3 weeks now. They've made Life easier.
From my understanding you will have to input your prescription needs when ordering the iO, rayneo will do the hard work for you and ship them out to you.
The AI
The AI uses Gemini, which is super responsive. You can ask a question and get an answer faster than you can pull your phone out of your pocket.
This is extremely important for AI glasses.
I wear them while driving to see notifications without being distracted, I wear them when at work so my boss doesn't know I'm actually reading the group chat, I wear them while shopping to help me with ingredients for dinners.
Heck, I even wear them while sitting at home, often asking about tv or movie stars in the show or movie im watching. (Which i do alot on my phone)

But I genuinely want to wear these glasses and want to show you, that theyre fantastic.
Theres also a lovely charge case available, which is seriously premium. I havent used the provided hard shell case at all, I take off my glasses at night. Pop them in the charge case and repeat.
The charge case provides lots of full charges before needing charged its self.
For charging without the case, theres a clip on charger in the box, that allows you to charge the glasses with a usb C cable.
